Not great for the child audience- talked for TOO long at the beginning, and 1 of the 2 numbers was not accessible to kids- music was overbearing and ominous. Performance was aimed at over 10 year old group, but most of the audience was much younger, and didn't get much of what was said. Performances by child performers were too long.
Everything was fabulous. My favorite was the ostrich number.
Not one but two world premieres at the inaugural performance for the American Dance Festival 2015. The troupe once again outdoes itself in exuberance and creativity. Awesome experience.
From the YouTube videos the show looked more like a cirque de solei show but it wasn't. Very talented dancers I am sure but show was more along the lines of a slow balet type dance which just isn't my thing.
When I bought the tickets I thought of it being a week day show and the drive back home and still having to get up for work but it was SO WORTH IT. Besides the feats of strength and balance the show also had dance and magic and comedy. It was thoroughly entertaining. It was a great treat to share with my daughter after the rough past year. LOVED IT!!!!!
I bought tickets for my daughter and myself. We both enjoyed the graceful, beautiful show. Afterwards, my daughter went home and started painting because she felt inspired for the first time in a long time. The music was a variety of classical and alternative rock. The entire event was great.
If you've never seen this group perform, they are a must see! The skill, artistry and choreography is truly a sight to behold.
Pilobolus was amazing! I had seen them perform about 10 years ago and was mesmerized, so I jumped at the opportunity to see them again. It's difficult to accurately describe what they do...it's dance at a higher level, it's energy, it's sensual, it's beautiful...breathtakingly beautiful. Can't wait for them to come back!

Excellent show. This was the first time my daughter attended one of their shows and we had a blast. Really keeps you entertained and the excitement does not wane. The dancers are excellent. The length of show was nice too. Most often these days you feel short changed. Not the case here. I am now officially a fan and will catch them again in the future.
I had never heard of Pilobolus until my girlfriend said how wonderful they were. I thought I was going to see a ballet. Wow. Was I ever pleasantly surprised. This evening was one of the five best performances I have ever seen in my life...and I am no spring chicken! Anyone thinking about going, definitely go it will be amazing and you will be glad you went. This is dancing like you've never seen before. I will definitely see them again when they are in town. Amazing...10 stars rating guide even though the tops is 5 stars.

This was my first seeing this show. Expected more shadow dancing. But overall was pleased with the show.
Their theatrical and physical skill combined with a huge imagination made for an amazing performance.
Fantastic use of props. Choreography over the top. Easily one of the best modern dance program I have seen in years.
What an inventive show! We thoroughly enjoyed PIlobolus, and would recommend it to everyone. The dancers were incredible to watch, and we were mesmerized by the creativity of the choreography, and set lighting and design. A definite one-of-a-kind!
I was excited to see this performance. Their advance videos were intriguing. However, the live performance lacked timeliness and structure. They repeated their movements numerous times. The stage crew took a lot of time to change the sets. The troupe only performed their signature act (shadow abstract) only once and that was minimal. Overall I was really disappointed. Numerous people in the audience expressed similar feelings. I wish them luck as this could be an awesome production. It needs structure, variance, and timing. I wish them well.
Enjoyed every minute of this amazing production. The professional dancers kept our attention at every turn and we were sorry to see it end. It was an extremely enjoyable evening. I would recommend it to anyone and will, for sure ,go back to see it again if they return to San Antonio!
I knew Pilobolus was a modern dance company, but after hearing rave reviews and seeing videos on youtube I had an expectation that was not met with this performance. It was definitely more writhing around onstage and electronic music and less of the acrobatic grace I was anxiously anticipating. Two acts were beautiful to watch, but the rest were bordering on bizarre. Many people left during intermission and the couple next to my husband and I left during the middle of an act in the second half. I work in the arts and enjoy cultural events of all types. Bottom line is there were certainly positive points to this performance and I enjoyed a nice evening in the theater. However it wasn't what I expected and if someone *gave* me tickets for a future performance I would have to think a while before deciding to take them.
Wonderful choreography and fantastic staging made for a magical event. If you love any type of modern dance, you should definitely see Pilobolus when you have the chance. I know I'll be seeing them again.
