  • Outstanding

by LesleyFromLaramie on 6/19/16DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

"Shadowlands" is an absolutely amazing production. If you have the chance to witness it, do not hesitate. Just go. You will not regret it. I was, alternately, surprised, overwhelmed, curious, fascinated, amused, overjoyed and always engaged and extremely well entertained. In the end, I was reduced to tears of joy. Just go. Go.

  • I was a bit disappointed

by IcyArt on 4/20/16Amaturo Theater at Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 2 out of 5

I've seen Pilobolus before when it came to Fort Lauderdale at Parker Playhouse., so I was excited to share the experience again with my sister. However, this time I wasn't pleased at all.. I was disappointed. I expected more shadow dancing and better transformation skits. It seems as though every skit had someone dying in it at the end. they only had one happy scene, and even that wasn't that great Sad to say I was turned off from going to see another Pilobolus event ever again

  • Awesomeness!

by FLFLFLFLFL on 4/15/16Amaturo Theater at Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

I was so thrilled to be able to see this amazing performance! The dancers were perfection. The chorography was demanding and exiting. GO AND SEE THIS SHOW!!

  • Pilobulos: forgettable

by ArtSpectator on 4/14/16Amaturo Theater at Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 2 out of 5

Unfortunately Pilobus had only two excellent moments (first ans last ones). The rest is a compillation of non-related to the show videos and unrefined clowneries. Really boaring!

  • Bravo to all the Performances!

Pilobolus has been wowing audiences, and me, for years, and this show's dance troupe was no different. I've had the luck to see them several times over the past few decades, starting in the 80's in NYC. Their work is genius. The creativity of each piece is top notch. Stunning strength of the dancers, combined with incredible control of their bodies leads to amazing displays of smooth dance movements and well as exciting pieces. Adding to their expertise of dance is a high tech knowledge for conceptual art, or shadow pieces, which are always fun and amazing. You need to see this dance company at least once in your life.

  • Good show, but sadly not for kids anymore

by MomofDB on 4/13/16Amaturo Theater at Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 4 out of 5

I have seen several of their performances, I love this group, specially their creativity. Before this one, I saw them 7 years ago, and not sure when they changed but in every act now there is some kind of sexual reference. As I said, I love the group and I took my girls (6 & 8 years old) to see this show. My 8 year old was asking me if it was appropriate for them, since the "costume" of the girl in the first act did not covered enough. She was topless. Some of the references they probably didn't get, I just don't really see the need for it. I still think it is a show to recommend, but not for kids if they continue to go this route.

A wonderful, magnificent performance, just like the one I saw 40 years ago.

  • Soooo Disappointed

by PompanoDanceFan on 4/12/16Amaturo Theater at Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 2 out of 5

i have wanted to see Pilobolus for a very long time. Last time they were irn Broward the performance was canceled. This time I got tickets early and looked forwad to the performance. Hated the music, did not at all enjoy the cacophony of music nor dance. The first number was the only one I found interesting. You can not fault the strength and body movements, however the entertainment quotient was very low in my perspective. The good news - I no longer have to worry about securing tickets if/when they come back to town.

  • Breathtaking

by Frenchita on 3/15/16Centennial Hall - TucsonRating: 5 out of 5

Amazing, exceptional show that leaves you panting: these guys defy the laws of gravity with such natural ease that you wonder why you could not do the same! The performance is full of humor and poetry. A must!

  • pilobolus as always was amazing.

by artisannecreations on 3/9/16Centennial Hall - TucsonRating: 4 out of 5

I always try to see Pilobolus when they come to town. Thet are amazing. I am always blown away by their movements. They make it look so easy and flawless. The only negative comment I have is, I didn't care for the magic act. The 2 guys on the pole were interesting but that looked like dance moves. I want to see awsome dancing, not magic.

  • Striking Visual Indulgence of Spirit

by Atasha on 3/9/16Centennial Hall - TucsonRating: 5 out of 5

Prepare for a treat. Amazing performance - and I went in with high expectations. I was surprised and enjoyed the variety of media, ideas and emotions that each piece evoked. It was a mixture of many different experiences into one cohesive gift of aliveness taken to an art form. Strength Beauty Humour........We all LOVED it!

  • Slow and dark

by culturesponge on 3/9/16Centennial Hall - TucsonRating: 3 out of 5

While I admire the strength and flexibility of the dancers, I and my guest had no idea what the dances were intended to say. Maybe more descriptive titles or some hints in the program would have helped.

  • Not for everyone

by NCluvbunny on 7/13/15DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - DurhamRating: 4 out of 5

My husband and I went to see Pilobolus I really enjoyed it, the husband not so much.

  • The Dance Performance You Will Ever See!

by Raih on 6/26/15DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

This performance was so diverse! Each piece was distinctive in music, theme, movement, lightening, spacing and choreography. The performance made you not only appreciate the beauty of the human body and strength but also make you wonder what their workout regiment consist of. When you watch them, you know what they do is a art form that has to be mastered and is precise. I cannot wait to see them again!

  • The family friendly version was boring

by 2docsandabox on 6/25/15DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - DurhamRating: 2 out of 5

Family friendly version was boring. Too much talking and dance routines underwhelming. Perhaps the full version is better.

  • Pilobolus - Outstanding!

by Penny0875 on 6/24/15DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

Limber, confident, expressive, strong, control . . . ooohhh, the control! These young dancers, many of whom are recent graduates, knocked it out of the box! I did not want to blink for fear that I would miss something! Can't wait to next year's performance!

  • It was Ok

by MissB75 on 6/23/15DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - DurhamRating: 3 out of 5

Talented dancers, I guess I just expected more. I found myself bored towards the end of the show.

  • Perfect

by cocolo1 on 6/23/15DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

Just great for kids. Dancers were available and approachable. Performances were both entertaining and serious, a perfect blend for curious kids.

  • Pilobolus was surprisingly goid

by Anonymous on 6/23/15DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - DurhamRating: 4 out of 5

pilobolus was surprisingly entertaining and very well choreographed. The dancers executed flawlessly and the small amount of nudity was done in good taste and was not offensive.

  • Pilobolus is amazingly creative and beautiful

by JohnGSO on 6/23/15DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

The performance by Pilobolus on June 20 was my second experience enjoying their dance. Their creativity is fresh, lively and beautiful. When the performance concluded I felt I could have gone on watching them for hours.
