We thought the program was great. The facility was nice and the overall experience was great. You should ask people for their head size though, wow the man in front of me had a big head, and I missed everything the happened on the left side of the stage, which was a little bit of a bummer.

It was an amazing event - both artistic and athletic..I really enjoyed the creativity shown on the dances. The performers were outstanding and one dancer in particular was a show stealer.

  • Unique dance event

I went to this show with 2 girlfriends. It was really interesting and we very much enjoyed it - the flexibility and strength of the dancers and the choreography. I would have liked to see a bit more music variety - it was all techno. Also there was an intermission after each dance piece, so it felt like as much waiting time as watching time.

  • Pilobolus is fantastic!

Pilobolus is a hybrid between modern dance and gymnastics. It seems like a cirque du soleil show, but without the pomp and overwrought stage effects. It is magic made just with music, movement and dancers. The show is creative and exciting -- not to be missed!!

Not the usual dance troop. Newage music and enthusiastic performers.

I've been a fan of modern dance for a long time and have seen performances ranging from Alvin Ailey to Mark Morris. I don't know how I overlooked Pilobolus for so long but it was a grievous omission. The performance was fresh and energetic with strong elements of sensuality and humor. You should make it a priority to see them the next time they're in your area - I know I will.

Pilobolus is creative force that is visually exciting and every move is unexpected! One of my favorite moments is the entire solo performance representing the heart. The dancers fluidity, precision and control of his body demonstrates the raw power and purpose of the human heart.

  • Most moving dane performance I have seen in years!

by thehealer on 10/26/09Ahmanson Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

I absolutely loved all four segments of this Pilobolus performance. The sequemce with the chairs was so full of symbolism and the segment with the four men was as beautifully done as anything I have ever seen.

  • Pilobolus Rocked

by JuBu on 10/26/09Ahmanson Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

Pilobolus is not just a group of dancers performing choreography filled with fun and inventive shapes; they are an inspiring combination of pure mystical, magical movement mixed with strength, agility, daring athletic prowess, and theatrical expressions that go way beyond what many audiences might expect from this amazing company. I thoroughly enjoyed this incredible concert.

Forget the incredible athleticism, the artistry was beautiful. I kept repeating to myself, "how'd they do that?" Escapism at its best.

Amazing acrobatic dance from a small troupe. Inventive and astonishing, looking effortless and seeming spontaneous, these actors continue to astonish as they use bodies in unexpected ways.

This is the first time I've watched a performance this far from the stage. Viewing it from the balcony feels like watching the performance on youtube. While I enjoyed the first 3 dances, the experience is no different than watching it remotely.

A combination of tai chi, gymnastics, martial arts, dance in some of the performances. Another performance was comical. All dances were creative, showed dexterity, strength, and precision. What a show!
