About

If you ever wondered what "seizing the moment" sounds like personified, look no further than Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, the four-piece musical powerhouse known for their head-turning high-energy psychedelic funk shows. The Maryland quartet -- "Scrambled Greg" Ormont [vocals, guitar], Jeremy Schon [guitar, vocals], Ben [bass, vocals], and Alex "Gator" Petropulos [drums, vocals]--not only squeezes the juice out of every second, but they harness life's energy within their hypnotic hybrid of funk, rock and psychedelic groove.

Renowned as a live tour de force, PPPP has tallied tens of millions of streams and performed to impassioned crowds everywhere from Red Rocks Amphitheatre and The Capitol Theatre to festivals such as Bonnaroo, Electric Forest, Jam Cruise, and more. With a devout audience, affectionately known as "The Flock," and a trail of sold-out tours behind them, the band takes a major step forward once again on their seventh full-length offering, Day In Time, released on April 26, 2024.

"Whether we're recording or touring, we're on a mission to spread positivity, to remind people to enjoy life and embrace each moment," notes Greg. "15 years as a band have flown by. We started in college and now we're all growing up, most of us have even become dads, so we're evolving personally and musically, and we're happily embracing those changes. That said, we still feel like kids when we're getting wild on stage and know we always will."

  • A little quicker to the stage would be better

by Rara on 6/1/25Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom - Hampton BeachRating: 4 out of 5

Loved Melt! Didn't know what to expect. Came for the Dusters and they never disappoint! The Pigeons took a while to get on stage which was kind of a buzz kill. The music wasn't what I listen to but the band was tight. Not a big fan of looong songs but they are a jam band so...

  • Jamming Funk

by JStar on 4/27/25House of Blues Cleveland - ClevelandRating: 5 out of 5

Both bands were great. Sneezy got the party started & Pigeons brought it home. Long concert with great jamming tunes.

  • Funky jam band

by Great show. Tight band. Jam band. on 3/24/25Neptune Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

Everyone in the house was dialed in to the Pigeons.

  • PPPPretty Awesome!

by AndyCantor on 3/24/25Neptune Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

Great show! These guys bring it for their live shows. Lots of smiles, dancing & fun all around. As an added bonus, the opening band, High Fade, was fantastic as well. That power trio from Scotland really brought it!

  • Best show ever!

by Tom Chapman on 3/23/25Knitting Factory - Boise - BoiseRating: 5 out of 5

These guys went balls to the walls from the very beginning and kept it up the whole show! It was incredible and a life Changing experience. Will definitely go to another show and would be willing to travel to see them!

  • BEST ENERGY AROUND

by DarkStarCoo on 2/3/25Brooklyn Bowl Philadelphia - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

The band is simply amazing. A fresh breathe of air and one of a kind. The whole weekend was wholesome, fun, energetic and even had moments where every fan was singing along and pouring their hearts out back to the band with the deepness and uniqueness that is Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, thank you p4!

  • A Columba By Any Other Name...

    by BMac64 on 12/17/249:30 CLUB - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Having listened to Pigeons for several years now I was finally able to catch them at Oceans Calling over the summer. What a show! Having now had the opportunity to see them at the 9:30 Club this past Friday was amazing. Their live performances are all encompassing, from the sweet jams to the truly well thought light shows, it is an experience for the ears and the eyes. Do NOT miss them live! P.S. Columba is the scientific name for pigeons ;-)

  • Great band! Set list needs pruning a bit.

by herr flockowski on 12/17/249:30 CLUB - WashingtonRating: 4 out of 5

Pigeons is the BEST jam band out there. Not just the best local one (to Baltimore), the best. They have actual good songs, with decent lyrics, and well-delivered. Many many great songs. But they seem to need a few more, thus the 4 stars, not 5. They lean too heavily on "jamming"(I know, ironically, for a jam band); i.e. just riffing on something, e x t e n d e d soloing with the usual disco backbeat. It's great! The first time in an evening. If they were to write more songs and do less lyricless jam "filler", they'd be unflappable. See what I did there?

  • The greatest live band ever.

by Jack Schwartzberg on 12/16/249:30 CLUB - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

I can not recommend seeing pigeons live more. So much creativity and talent on stage, it is truly remarkable to watch. Support live music!!

Best band since 2000. Best live shows period. PIGEONS ARE THE ABSOLUTE BEST!

  • A fun and wild ride

by Magic Hands Sue on 9/11/24The Fillmore Charlotte - CharlotteRating: 4 out of 5

This was the second time I've seen Pigeons Playing Ping Pong. I/m always impressed with their musical talents. They are a super fun band. Dogs in a Pile opened for them followed by Andy Frasco. Andy Frasco is wide open! I wouldn't want to have to follow him in a show, but the Pigeons did and were very entertaining. I would have loved to have heard the Pigeons play longer and their encore songs were a little weak compared with the last time I saw them, but I'm definitely going to see them again as soon as I can.

  • Pigeons was great

by Wheelin on 9/10/24The Fillmore Charlotte - CharlotteRating: 4 out of 5

Too bad it was at the Fillmore. Probably the worst and most expensive venue ever.

  • Pigeons @ The Fillmore

by Bob on 9/10/24The Fillmore Charlotte - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

I moved to NC three years ago. I go to Live Music all the time. Two years ago I saw Pigeons for the 1st time and it was the best show I've seen in the South so far only to be exceeded by the Pigeons Frasco Dogs show tonight ! ! !

  • Unbelievable

  • Frasco and the Dogs know how to party

by JammerFam on 9/3/24The Rooftop at Pier 17 - New YorkRating: 3 out of 5

Frasco has morphed into the jam Ling always bringing flavor and fun to the shows. The Dogs are always interesting and great musicians. Looking forward to tracking their progress. The pigeons were the pigeons, getting a bit tired for me.

  • Fun!

  • Epic All 5 Times

by Connie on 6/26/24Rating: 5 out of 5

These guys are the absolute best live. To the point where you can confidently invite friends who are not even fans (yet) because most everyone can appreciate their energy and their commitment to delivering for the fans I’ve heard they go all out each show in case a fan can only see them once a year. It really, really shows.
