About

Iconic singer-songwriter PATTY GRIFFIN has announced her highly anticipated return to Australia. Last here in 2008 for sold-out shows, the Texan performer has attracted a cult-following with her intimately passionate performance style, telling heartfelt stories with her vivid, powerful vocal.

“Patty Griffin is an absolute inspiration to every songwriter who’s fortunate enough to come across her music.” - Missy Higgins

“I would go anywhere, anytime to hear Patty Griffin sing her extraordinary songs.” - Emmylou Harris

Over the course of two decades, the GRAMMY Award-winner – and seven-time nominee – has crafted nine classic studio albums and two live collections, a remarkable body of work that prompted the New York Times to hail her for “[writing] cameo-carved songs that create complete emotional portraits of specific people…(her) songs have independent lives that continue in your head when the music ends.”

Widely regarded among the best singer-songwriters of her era, this year’s self-titled album, PATTY GRIFFIN collects songs written during her battle with cancer.

Chronicling love and death, heartache and joy, connection and detachment, Patty Griffin continues with her uncanny perception, and ever-increasing ingenuity. A starkly beautiful live show, the return of this pillar of Americana is not to be missed.

    Wilbur Theater Boston

As a longtime Patty Griffin fan, I was so disappointed with the show. I wish I had skipped this one. No old fan favorites and the show just dragged on and on. She is no longer able to sing on key and hit the notes. Her warmup act Raul Malo was terrific! Truly awful and expensive night for me!

    Good concert, weird venue

by LM on 5/12/22The Walker Theatre - Chattanooga

Always love a Patty concert! But the venue was strange. Felt like a high school auditorium. Staff were super nice and helpful, just seemed like a weird space. At the beginning the AV team forgot to turn off the background music for the opening act. Someone had to go tell them!

    Patty Griffin

by PJ on 5/6/22Liberty Hall - Lawrence

I have been a long time fan of Patty's, but had never seen her live before. I recognize that artists have a lot of music to choose from to place on their play lists. However, I was pretty disappointed by this play list. I also was disappointed in her voice-she was flat @ times. Hopefully, I'll see her again when she is in better voice.

I've always wanted to see Patty Griffin

by FrankTheTank on 5/6/22The Walker Theatre - Chattanooga

I've always wanted to see Patty Griffin, and I finally got the chance to. Patty's two-person show was amazing! It was her and Dave, her accompanying guitarist. Two see these two accomplished musicians play was such a pleasure. Words can't describe how beautifully they will overwhelm you with their artistry. I've always called Ms. Griffin a "Songbird". Her singing was beautiful, with the exception that either the soundperson wasn't on the ball or the speakers didn't perform well. Either way, it was difficult to clearly understand the words to her songs. That is in no way a reflection on Ms. Griffin. In summary, all I can say, is that I can't wait to see her again.

    What a show!

by Cameron on 5/3/22The Walker Theatre - Chattanooga

What a show! Patty always delivers a beautiful and heartfelt performance, but I have never been so close to her in all the shows I’ve attended. The tickets were reasonably priced, so I was pleasantly surprised when I realized how intimate the venue was and how close we were to the stage. The staff at the venue were a bit stuffy, and the bar could use better options, but overall, it was a great concert.

    Throw us a bone!

by JK1000 on 5/3/22The Walker Theatre - Chattanooga

Most artists understand they need to play songs that are fan favorites at their shows. Patty doesn’t seem to hold to that view point. She might just be at the point where she has earned the right to do whatever she wants. If you are a long time Patty Griffin fan just know before you drive for hours and get a hotel, she is not playing her beloved songs at her shows. This was 10 minutes from our house but will probably be my last time getting a ticket for Patty.

    Greatest experience

by TinaK on 1/23/22Old Forester's Paristown Hall - Louisville

My friend/coworker had never been to a concert before so we thought this would be the perfect one to start her out on and boy it did not disappoint. The venue was so nice. It is smaller then most concert venues I have previously been to which gave it a more personal, intimate vibe. Everything was very clean and well maintained. I will definitely be looking forward to more shows to attend there. The opening act, Parker Millsap was spectacular. His accustom guitar and the tone of his voice made the lyrics resonate in your soul. Patty Griffin was equally spectacular, taking time in between songs to talk and story tell. It made you feel like you really knew this person.

    As Expected and More

    by Murmur71 on 1/22/22Old Forester's Paristown Hall - Louisville

Parker Milsap awesome! Patty was just as awesome, but know that with age comes voice issues at times. She sounds exceptional singing her most recents works, but she struggled a bit with her older catalogue. All in all, I will continue to see Patty at every chance. The venue speaks for itself. However, it was super cold with air blowing directly on patrons. Beware and maybe wear a coat!

Go Out While You're Remembered For The Good Years

    by Zoop1953 on 1/22/22Old Forester's Paristown Hall - Louisville

I have been a big Patty Griffin fan since Living With Ghosts. She sang like an angel! Unfortunately her battle with cancer has robbed her of that angelic voice. It was painfull to watch this show. She forgot words to her songs, had to stop one song and she only somewhat came into voice during her last three songs. I still love her but wished I would not have seen her during this tour. I will choose to remeber her for the Good Years and wish her the best.

Patty Griffin sounded AMAZING! Her big voice filled up Paristown Hall sounding wonderful! Paristown is a great venue, and I did like the addition of having seats this show, that was a nice experience! I will be back, to a Patty show, as well as to Paristown!

    Lovely Saturday evening

by KB on 11/24/21Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater - Austin

I hadn’t seen Patty in about 5 years, so I eagerly looked forward to the show. I am unable to quantify how delighted I was my entire time. Laughing, smiling and having each song just wash over me bringing back memories & fantastic vibes. Each musician had me captivate… the drums, the guitar, piano, the back stories. I loved it, I loved it all.

the warm up duo wife and husband band was super great

by nat on 11/24/21Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater - Austin

patty griffin was a bit of a let down her voice seemed very weak, also i don't like being preached to about politics, can we just have some music and spare us your world views, but the supporting band was solid though.

Music was hot! Venue was COLD!!!!!!!

by GriffinFan on 11/24/21Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater - Austin

Patty, of course, never disappoints! And while the ACL Moody venue was fabulous, the HVAC system was cranked so low that we were freakin' freezing throughout the entire concert! Everyone around us was bundling up in jackets and coats (those lucky enough to have them) to try and stay warm and enjoy the music. Not good ACL. As a fellow musician, I understand the need to keep the venue cool for the instruments, but this bordered on ridiculous. Very uncomfortable. Do better ACL! Thank you Patty for being the great performer you are. And for finding Adam Wright (and wife) They were superstars!

Amazing as usual, minus the drunk girls…

by Ross on 11/23/21Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater - Austin

Patty and her band were Just as moving as usual. The drunk girls however, should have been ejected immediately. Are use the term “girls“ to describe 30 something women intentionally – – because they were acting like them. I don’t know if it was a bachelorette party or what, but this woman (OK, fine) kept shouting things like “we love you Patty!“ At really inappropriate moments. Not during the applause or anything, but during soulful pauses during the songs. It took her interruption on at least three different songs, and the complaint of a fellow patron to finally get them thrown out. The Moody Center is a beautiful venue, but I think the ushers should be trained to be a bit more aggressive on this type of unruly patron. Otherwise it would’ve been five stars. Incidentally, I am disabled and use a wheelchair. The accessible seating was outstanding, there is a private elevator that takes you to those areas, and the ushers could not have been more friendly. So, perhaps too friendly? I don’t know. See ANYTHING at Austin city limits, and see Patty aNYWHERE she goes.
