About

Ever since the release of their 2008 EP Chunk of Change, Passion Pit’s unique brand of indietronica has appealed to fans of both indie rock and electronic dance music, generating heaps of praise from those bastions of hipster cred otherwise known as music blogs. With the release of sophomore album Gossamer in 2012, the band kept crowds moving with a collection of ambitious and impeccably produced gems like “Take a Walk” and “Constant Conversations,” earning the album a No. 4 position on the Billboard 200. Passion Pit originated as the solo project of frontman Michael Angelakos, who penned the project’s first songs for his girlfriend before enlisting some of his classmates from Berklee College of Music to start a group. The band’s debut full-length Manners (2009) received praise from critics and bloggers for its catchy and danceable songs, including breakthrough single “Sleepyhead” and kaleidoscopic electro hit “The Reeling.” On tour in 2013, Passion Pit has been treating fans to high-octane live performances that perfectly capture the spirit of their sparkling pop anthems.

  • Good show. Bad opening act.

by OniZen on 10/14/13Civic Theatre - New OrleansRating: 4 out of 5

Passion Pit was great live--even with the singer obviously suffering from a cold. Wish I could say the same for the opening band. The Joy Formidable was horrible. Between their needlessly ear-splitting volume to the seizure-inducing strobe lights to their '90s alternative rock sound, it was enough to make anyone flee for the exit wretching. Pretty amusing that PP gave them like only a foot of stage to play on too

Passion Pit is, undoubtedly, one of the finest musical groups I have seen live in concert. Their light show is breathtaking and they radiate of pure talent. The atmosphere their group establishes is one of good vibes and good times. The Masquerade couldn't have done a better job of accommodating the audience as well as the band. The venue was more than enough and has become one of my favorites. Needless to say, I'll definitely be back in the near future.

Passion Pit was mindblowing! I would recommend everyone to see them live

The best band that I have ever seen live. Even though Michael (the frontman) was sick that night, he still managed to pull off an unforgettable night. I highly recommend seeing Passion Pit. Such a fun, energetic, talented group of guys.

  • It's not my fault, I'm happy

I was unable to attend this show last year but I am so glad I could go this year, well worth the wait! The show was amazing! I had such a blast dancing and singing under the stars with one of my favorite bands! Great live performers! I would definitely love to see them again as soon as they return to Atlanta!!

Amazing show! He sounded really good and got the crowd involved. Really fun!

  • by Jessyjune on 9/14/13Hudson River Park - Pier 26 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

One of the best concerts I've ever been to. Crowd was amazing, all ages and true fans. Food stands were amazing, you even had a sponsored photo booth and Dove giving away free body wash! The lights were the most unforgettable part of the concert. Each song had its own incredible lights show to go along with it. The band was up beat and fantastic. GO SEE THEM !!!!! Also, the breeze of being on the water made the event that much more enjoyable!

  • Unbelievable

by Anonymous on 9/12/13Hudson River Park - Pier 26 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Passion Pit was incredible. They opened with Make Light, which really pumped up the crowd and it only went up from there. Great job mixing in the hits with their other songs. Also were smart in spreading out there slower songs - Constant Conversations (which was amazing), Where I Come From, and Where We Belong. Was a little bummed when the only Chunk of Change song they played (besides Sleepyhead) was Smile Upon Me instead of Cuddle Fiddle or Live to Tell the Tale. Great show, everyone must see them!

  • Great, poppy.enthusiastic!

Went with a friend who is a great fan. he looved the concert and I liked it very much too! Lighting was great and the venue, except for standing for 5 hours, was appropriate. we were very close and the sound was balanced and good.

  • It was incredible!!

    by Jen716x on 9/11/13Hudson River Park - Pier 26 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

My friend and I impulsively decided to buy tickets to see Passion Pit as a way to close out the summer before we started school the following monday. We knew we would enjoy ourselves but we didn't think it would be as incredible as it was. We didn't even get there that early and we got PERFECT spots. Passion Pit was so incredible; they are an unbelievably talented group of guys and their live performance was impeccable. It was honestly like a party. The energy, performance, and vibe was fabulous and the view of the new Freedom Tower and the city skyline once the sun goes down is breathtaking. I wish I could experience this night over and over again.

  • Passion Pit: the audience AND the band

by Emandms on 9/11/13Hudson River Park - Pier 26 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

This was by far the best concert I've ever been too. Passion Pit sounds AMAZING live and the venue was in the perfect location. New York City Skyline and my favorite band, what could be better?

  • Such a fun show & AWESOME Venue (Pier 26)

by Anonymous on 9/11/13Hudson River Park - Pier 26 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Passion Pit is awesome live, so much fun. Danced, drank, partied. They played at Pier 26, which was unfortunately the last show that will be played at the Pier. It was a beautiful night with perfect views of the Hudson, and the city behind us. Outdoor summer venues are always a blast.

  • Not worth it

by Anonymous on 9/11/13Hudson River Park - Pier 26 - New YorkRating: 2 out of 5

It was not worth the price. Instead of US$50 it should have been maximun USD$20. Very simple, not elaborated, the singer was sometimes tuneless. I really love their music but the live experience I must say it´s not good. It doesn´t sound good. Food offerings were poor. We were supposed to have seats and when we got inside we found that there were no seats. This was very disappointing.

  • Best venue ever seen

    by gd130 on 9/11/13Hudson River Park - Pier 26 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen many concerts of many genres and this was the top of my list. The venue was spectacular (pier 26; Hudson River Park) and the music was phenomenal. It was exactly how I wished a live performance of passion out would be.

  • Passion Pit Rocks the River

    by GoPackGo1246 on 9/10/13Hudson River Park - Pier 26 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Arriving at pier 26 and seeing the stage out on the water you know this is going to be a great event. From the lights to the exciting performances passion pit rocked the stage for a good hour and a half. After finishing a two song encore the general feeling was one of elation. You could tell the band loved playing NYC at a packed venue over looking the Jersey skyline. They thundered on in a storm of sound and lights and left behind calm tranquil feelings in their wake. The voices of fans could be heard thought out almost every song. Fantastic venue with friendly staff. I know I'm coming back.

  • AMAZING!

The weather was beautiful which made for a great night to be outside. Not only outside - but on the Hudson with awesome views of NJ. Passion Pit's set was flawless! I hope to see them again in the near future.
