Ever since the release of their 2008 EP Chunk of Change, Passion Pit’s unique brand of indietronica has appealed to fans of both indie rock and electronic dance music, generating heaps of praise from those bastions of hipster cred otherwise known as music blogs. With the release of sophomore album Gossamer in 2012, the band kept crowds moving with a collection of ambitious and impeccably produced gems like “Take a Walk” and “Constant Conversations,” earning the album a No. 4 position on the Billboard 200. Passion Pit originated as the solo project of frontman Michael Angelakos, who penned the project’s first songs for his girlfriend before enlisting some of his classmates from Berklee College of Music to start a group. The band’s debut full-length Manners (2009) received praise from critics and bloggers for its catchy and danceable songs, including breakthrough single “Sleepyhead” and kaleidoscopic electro hit “The Reeling.” On tour in 2013, Passion Pit has been treating fans to high-octane live performances that perfectly capture the spirit of their sparkling pop anthems.

Great setting to see a concert. The Joy Formidable rocked out and then Passion Pit brought it home.
Passion Pit was amazing at the Greek Theater, the venue was excellent for acoustics and the outdoor setting in the woods seemed magical. Light show with each song was awesome!
Awesome show, got to upgrade our seats from terrace seats to section A for free! Passion Pit was amazing live!
This show was great. This is an absolutely incredible venue if you sit close enough. The "pit" seats were actually seats so everyone had plenty of room and I was only 6 rows away from Michael and the rest of the band! The kind of music they play is hard to do well live, even harder so to do outside, but this was by far the best I'd ever heard them sound.
Took my son for his 20th birthday. Was a very good time.
Passion pit was amazing!! Great venue and great sound.
The Fox really captured this bands energy. Passion Pit filled the place with energy and put on a great show. .
I opted to spring for the telegraph room and it was 100% worth it. Food, dessert, space, private restrooms and a fantastic private viewing area. Passion Pit were amazing as always and it was just fantastic all around.
Me and my sister were front and center. Couldn't have asked for a better show. Can't describe, just gotta go.
Passion Pit did an amazing job playing at the Fox Theater! They're energy was electric through their entire performance. Their songs are so much fun so seeing them played live was incredible.
This was my third time seeing Passion Pit live, and they were the best that I've ever seen them. The Fox was a perfect venue for this show, because although it holds a lot of people, the even still felt intimate.
I became a fan of Passion Pit after seeing them play Not So Silent Night at Oracle Arena. I have seen them several times since. They always give an energetic performance Their show at the Fox Theatre in Oakland drew a relatively small audience ...the floor was crowded but upstairs seats were empty. Nonetheless, Passion Pit ran through a standard 75 minute set that left the audience cheering. Joy Formidable opened and put on a great 30 minute set. All and all it was an enjoyable Monday evening show. I look forward to seeing Passion Pit again this weekend at the Life Is Beautiful Festival in Las Vegas
Passion Pit's show was excellent - great sound, light show, everything. Well worth the price of the ticket.
I was so excited for this show since Passion Pit has been one of my favorite bands for a few years and I had never seen them. However, the sound was really off--vocals were way too low. It was still a fun time hearing some of my favorite songs live, but I know it could have been SO much better. It would not keep me from seeing them again, and they're still one of my very favorites!
Great energy, great time!! I really enjoyed the venue; I'd never been there before.
It was the best concert I've ever been to. They have such a great energy! You can't NOT have fun
I was pumped that The Joy Formidable was the opening band, because I do like a couple of their hits as well, but Passion Pit did not disappoint. They played all my favorites, especially Sleepyhead. The jazzier version of Constant Conversations they played was a bit different.. I think I would have rather just heard him wail that song as I hear it on iTunes but overall, a pleasing show.
I saw Passion Pit at Hangout Fest 2013. They were by far the best act I saw. There wasn't anything wrong with the band at the Civic Theater except the horrific sound. The sound in the the theater is awful and I will not be taking in another show there until I hear improvements have been made. I can't reiterate how disappointed I was in the sound quality of the venue.
Passion Pit sounded great at the Civic Theatre, they played for more than an hour even though the lead singer was sick. They performed old and new songs and kept the crowd dancing. Elegant venue with convenient parking and helpful staff. It would have been better had it not been all ages but overall it was great.
Overall the concert was awesome. the joy formidable rocked out so hard even with only three band members. Passion pit played all of the hits and the light show was great, however I don't know if it was a venue problem or a band problem but both Joy and Passion pit vocals were hard to hear. If you didn't know the words to the songs, you couldn't hear the words. The instruments are louder than the words.
