About

Ever since the release of their 2008 EP Chunk of Change, Passion Pit’s unique brand of indietronica has appealed to fans of both indie rock and electronic dance music, generating heaps of praise from those bastions of hipster cred otherwise known as music blogs. With the release of sophomore album Gossamer in 2012, the band kept crowds moving with a collection of ambitious and impeccably produced gems like “Take a Walk” and “Constant Conversations,” earning the album a No. 4 position on the Billboard 200. Passion Pit originated as the solo project of frontman Michael Angelakos, who penned the project’s first songs for his girlfriend before enlisting some of his classmates from Berklee College of Music to start a group. The band’s debut full-length Manners (2009) received praise from critics and bloggers for its catchy and danceable songs, including breakthrough single “Sleepyhead” and kaleidoscopic electro hit “The Reeling.” On tour in 2013, Passion Pit has been treating fans to high-octane live performances that perfectly capture the spirit of their sparkling pop anthems.

  • Great experience

    by Viktor45 on 11/6/13The Norva - NorfolkRating: 4 out of 5

It was a great time- The Joy Formidable did a great job opening the night, and I can totally see them as the main event in the near future. This power band from the UK definitely got us hyped and when Passion Pit finally arrived on staged, the whole crowd was in the mood to rock some more. The songs they played were definitely the crowd favorites and they didn't hold back with their little introductions and flashy set up. Overall, I loved the concert and the bands did a terrific job.

Great live performance. The crowd was very engaged, which I really loved. Also, everyone seemed to have enjoyed it as well.

Passion Pit was amazing and the venue was just right.

  • Passion Pit is always amazing

by mkbergerrr on 11/4/13House of Blues Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 4 out of 5

Seeing Passion Pit is always really amazing. They have great stage presence and they really know how to play live - even though they have a really unique studio sound. I only put four stars because I wasn't aware the Joy Formidable was opening, and I'm not really a fan of them. I arrived an hour and a half early so I could get a good spot, and I ended up being in the front row of GA. The venue was small, but still really nice. Passion Pit is my favourite band and I always enjoy seeing them live.

  • Passion Pit is a Class Act!!

by SubZeroZ28 on 11/4/13House of Blues Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

The entire band does an amazing job live, and they sound just as excellent as they do on CD. The show is energetic, enthusiastic, and extremely fun to go to. I would immediately recommend this to every Passion Pit fan, it's just such a great experience to go see them live! Venue was excellent at the House of Blues in Atlantic City, and seats were great!

  • Passion Pit Gives Excellent Live Performance

by KatieFuchs on 11/4/13House of Blues Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 4 out of 5

I have seen Passion Pit before at a festival but seeing them headlining and able to do a full-length set was just no comparison. Michael Angelakos delivered stunning vocals, including being able to hit his most iconic high notes, definitely impressive since they were just four shows out from the end of the tour. Michael is a great showman, interesting to watch and engaging readily with the crowd. The venue was packed, and the crowd a bit more obnoxious than usual, but that is obviously no fault of the band or venue. I only wish that I had bough tickets to the upstairs "pew section" so that my view could have been I hampered by 6 foot plus dudes (and I am not a short girl at 5'8"). Additionally, the Joy Formidable brought great energy and swagger for an opener. All in all, a really fun night!

  • Awesome Band, Awesome Venue

by Neonbibliophile on 11/4/13House of Blues Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 4 out of 5

I really enjoyed this show because the venue was small enough to feel close to the action and Passion Pit was on point. Great performance!

I've seen Passion Pit a couple of times, but this is the best show I've been to. They are such a fun and talented group. I will definitely be there the next time they come to my area.

  • Passion Pit was amazing!

by Bowardk on 11/3/13Echostage - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Passion Pit and the opening band, The Joy Formidable, had an amazing performance. They interacted with the crowd in which made the concert x10 more enjoyable. Since the concert was on Halloween, the band members dressed up and passed out candy on stage. Passion Pit not only played songs from their recent album, Gossamer, but they also played old hits such as Sleepyhead and Little Secrets. Overall, the concert was the best one I have been to yet. I will definitely be purchasing tickets the next time Passion Pit comes to the D.C. area.

Great area, big venue, and nice bartenders. The only thing was the $30 cash only parking stations. The area is also very shady, so you don't want to park somewhere else and have your car or belongings stolen. Besides that, the band played two new songs, it looks like they are planning to release a new album soon.

  • Third time is the charm

by dpgarca on 11/2/13Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen Passion Pit 3 times! What can i say? i love them, their music and energy is contagious, i love the venue, the fox theater is beautiful and allow us to be so close to the artist. Cant wait for them to be back!!

  • Short and sweet

by killersfan01 on 10/29/13Santa Barbara Bowl - Santa BarbaraRating: 4 out of 5

This was the fourth time I have seen them and they played great. My biggest gripe was how short the set list was. It was about an hour for the main with a two song encore. This was by far the shortest set of theirs I have seen. All that said I will see them again, maybe it was for the best this time. No fluff or down time just pure unadulterated Passion Pit

  • One of the best shows I have ever been to.

by nimrodTino on 10/28/13Greek Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

What an event. The music and energy of Passion Pit was upbeat and positive. It felt as if the entire amphitheater was dancing. Also, it was my first time at The Greek and the venue is easy to navigate and all staff members (ushers, concession stand cashiers, maintenance, etc.) were super friendly and very helpful. Im not sure if it was a band thing or a house thing, but the lighting was amazing. Best use of lights EVER!

  • by ASieverson on 10/28/13Greek Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

The show really was amazing. I brought two friends that had not listened to Passion Pit previously and am happy to say they are now fans. The light show was spectacular as well as the venue.
