About

Ever since the release of their 2008 EP Chunk of Change, Passion Pit’s unique brand of indietronica has appealed to fans of both indie rock and electronic dance music, generating heaps of praise from those bastions of hipster cred otherwise known as music blogs. With the release of sophomore album Gossamer in 2012, the band kept crowds moving with a collection of ambitious and impeccably produced gems like “Take a Walk” and “Constant Conversations,” earning the album a No. 4 position on the Billboard 200. Passion Pit originated as the solo project of frontman Michael Angelakos, who penned the project’s first songs for his girlfriend before enlisting some of his classmates from Berklee College of Music to start a group. The band’s debut full-length Manners (2009) received praise from critics and bloggers for its catchy and danceable songs, including breakthrough single “Sleepyhead” and kaleidoscopic electro hit “The Reeling.” On tour in 2013, Passion Pit has been treating fans to high-octane live performances that perfectly capture the spirit of their sparkling pop anthems.

Everything I would've expected, loved the energy and the lights, only made it more exciting to know that playing in NY that night was really important to them too.... really great show, can't wait to see them again

this concert was more than epic. dead ass. i ws watching other live videos before and i dont know what they had to enhance his voice but it was prefect

I feel Passion Pit somehow surpassed the Terminal 5 curse. The sound and sight lines (or lack there of) in that place are horrendous. I have yet to speak to anyone that does not agree. But Passion Pit did overcome those flaws, which I have yet to see any other band do. With a bunch of annoying kids in the crowd and bad venue, I'd say they definitely proved their talent. And i still loathe that venue, not sure I'll go back.

  • Great Performance

    by FreddyMar3 on 1/10/10Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

Great live performance. The sound quality was so close to what you here on the on the album. Venue had plenty of space. Crowd was awesome. Lighting was sick. Concert started a bit late and probably could've handled 2 more songs but overall it was amazing.

  • pretty darn hot

    by GeeSS on 1/10/10Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

I love passion pit. I have been a fan since chunk of change came out. However, they werent as good in concert as i'd expected. A solid performance and def worth seeing but Michael Angelakos' voice wasnt quite at that clear eerie falsetto i love so much rather he often chose to sing at a lower octave which was disappointing. However, everyone else was great and the crowd was very enthusiastic.

  • passion pit is one of my top 5 favorite concerts

    by impassioned on 1/9/10Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

  • off the heezy

    by rsqur on 1/9/10Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

it was an awesome show. i heard a lot of rumors that they weren't good live going into the show, but that's just false. they're quite the performers. the lead singer sounded just as good if not better as he does on the recordings, as did the other guys.

  • Passon Pit killed it

    by tigerpac on 1/9/10Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Passon Pit was really on last night. They sounded even better than the solid performance they had over the summer opening for Phoenix at summerstage. They played all their big songs, some lesser known favorites and a nice cranberries cover. Well done!
