About
Ever since the release of their 2008 EP Chunk of Change, Passion Pit’s unique brand of indietronica has appealed to fans of both indie rock and electronic dance music, generating heaps of praise from those bastions of hipster cred otherwise known as music blogs. With the release of sophomore album Gossamer in 2012, the band kept crowds moving with a collection of ambitious and impeccably produced gems like “Take a Walk” and “Constant Conversations,” earning the album a No. 4 position on the Billboard 200. Passion Pit originated as the solo project of frontman Michael Angelakos, who penned the project’s first songs for his girlfriend before enlisting some of his classmates from Berklee College of Music to start a group. The band’s debut full-length Manners (2009) received praise from critics and bloggers for its catchy and danceable songs, including breakthrough single “Sleepyhead” and kaleidoscopic electro hit “The Reeling.” On tour in 2013, Passion Pit has been treating fans to high-octane live performances that perfectly capture the spirit of their sparkling pop anthems.

Passion Pit at Terminal 5 on 1.10.10
by Nieves on 1/11/10Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5Went to this show with dannyoms, kevinan, stevesadin, violetang, lanield, Shaggy, Brandon and, Collin. We got to the venue at about 9pm. We missed the opener completely tonight which kinda sucked a bit (I was looking forward to hearing some Bee Gee's songs). The show started sooner than I thought it would. Tonight Passion Pit went on at about 10pm. I'm almost positive that they played the same set list as the show on Saturday (they only have one album Manners and one E.P. Chunk Of Change). The crowd tonight was crazy good (pumped, jumping, singing along and, dancing). This was the best Passion Pit show I've seen to date. We all left Terminal 5 and went to Corner Bistro for drinks and burgers. We could not stop talking about the show in the mist of all of our other random jokes and stories about childhood friends. A great show and great memories.

A fun concert
by Zach91 on 1/11/10House of Blues Boston - BostonRating: 4 out of 5After seeing Passion Pit at the FNX best music poll last summer, I was instantly hooked. They were by far the best act there, which is impressive considering some other very talented bands were there like The Bravery, Airborne Toxic Event, and Gaslight Anthem. When I saw that they were headlining a show at the House of Blues in Boston I had to go (also being home from college leaves me with little to look forward to). The opening acts: DIrty Dishes and Magic Magic, could have not even played and it wouldn't have changed a thing. Those two bands were so forgettable that it wasn't even funny. Their songs were basically MGMT rip offs and had no real sound. What that meant was that the beginning 4 HOURS (took them a long time to switch sets) was superfluous. Another strange thing I noticed was the crowd. Passion Pit, locals who started at Emerson, attract a large amount of college kids as their listeners. The average age there must have been 15. It was as if that show was most of the crowds first concert which was somewhat of a nuisance. Then PP finally came on. The place went nuts. This craze subsided shortly after everyone realized that they were just there to hear "The Reeling", "Little Secrets", and of course "Sleepyhead," and it seemed that there were only a few die hard fans who could sing along to all the songs. The energy just wasn't there the whole time. Having seen Bloc Party at the same venue, this was a bit shocking since at the BP show, it was actually insane the whole time. Everyone sang along. Everyone moved around. PP just needs more time to have more recognizable and distinguishable songs. More than once I thought in my head "didn't they JUST play this?" Overall though, Passion Pit put on a great performance, but I would probably only see them again if they opened for a bigger act, or more equal acts opened for them.

by Frenchguy on 1/11/10Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5I don't find the words to say how many I was impressed by the show. Passion Pit gave a great performance. The mise en scene of the lights gave a true atmosphere at the show and the was at his best, on an artistic and on an entertainment point of view. That was just awesome!!!

So fun and really well done
by JoeP1018 on 1/11/10Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5The show was great, passion pit sounded great live, and the visuals were beautiful. The band was pretty professional, playing one song almost right after the next. A great concert, fun, but not too much crazyness in terms of moshing etc- so you can relax and enjoy. Terminal 5 is a great venue too. The audience was a little heavy on the highschool-early college teeny bopper girl demographic, but still nice chill people.

Dance your pants off at Passion Pit!
by CatherineOfelia on 1/11/10Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5The show was great. The band was really personable and their beats rocked. Only downside wa sthe long waiting time between openers and the band itself. Passion Pit is a must-see!

Passion Pit and The Joy Formidable at Terminal 5
by Nieves on 1/10/10Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5Went to this show with Steven, Jessie and Collin. We got to the venue a few songs into The Joy Formidable's set. They had the crowd pumped and jumping. Very good set great energy. I was hooked with "Whirring" and "Cradle". They finished their set and I immediately when and got their CD. Milled about for a bit till Passion Pit went on. Passion Pit went on about 11pm and the crowd went crazy!!! Very good opening song (can't remember) and their full set was good. I really enjoyed the back drop lighting and their stage energy. The ONLY negative from the show was the crowd. Seemed to be a lot of drunk collage kids and drunk Jets fans. Besides that we had a great time. Looking forward to tonight's show (1.10.10).
Wonderful show!
by ahcys on 1/10/10Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5I've been listening to Passion Pit since late 2008 and have been waiting to see them for the longest. They were great live! The vocals and instruments sounded good and they even changed up some of the songs a little to make it a little more exciting. I would definitely recommend seeing them. Everyone seemed like they had a good time and the atmosphere was awesome.
