lights and sound were great... though there was some technical difficulty.... great band to listen to live.. my only complaint is that the show wasn't very long... openers took up alot of the show

About
Ever since the release of their 2008 EP Chunk of Change, Passion Pit’s unique brand of indietronica has appealed to fans of both indie rock and electronic dance music, generating heaps of praise from those bastions of hipster cred otherwise known as music blogs. With the release of sophomore album Gossamer in 2012, the band kept crowds moving with a collection of ambitious and impeccably produced gems like “Take a Walk” and “Constant Conversations,” earning the album a No. 4 position on the Billboard 200. Passion Pit originated as the solo project of frontman Michael Angelakos, who penned the project’s first songs for his girlfriend before enlisting some of his classmates from Berklee College of Music to start a group. The band’s debut full-length Manners (2009) received praise from critics and bloggers for its catchy and danceable songs, including breakthrough single “Sleepyhead” and kaleidoscopic electro hit “The Reeling.” On tour in 2013, Passion Pit has been treating fans to high-octane live performances that perfectly capture the spirit of their sparkling pop anthems.

Absolutely fabulous. Not only one of my favorite bands but they are probably one of the best live acts out there. Sounded amazing, amazing energy. Rapids was a beautiful place for a the show too. Set a good mood. Only complaints were the bangwagon fans.
Passion Pit and Mayer Hawthorne
by tina99la on 3/29/10The Rapids Theatre - Niagara FallsRating: 4 out of 5The first band that played wasn't that great, but Mayer Hawthorne was amazing and blew me away. So much better live. Passion Pit had so much energy and played so many great songs. I was worried about how they were going to sound live but I was not at all disappointed. Great show.

I wasn't a huge Passion Pit fan going in, but this show definitely did not change my opinion of them. They used an incredibly complex lighting rig- I'll admit it was impressive- but it came at the expense of any level of musical artistry. it probably took about 40 minutes or more to set up, and it was cool, but three songs in it crashed and the band decided to stop playing and leave the stage while someone tried to fix it. Absolutely ridiculous- the audience was given the clear impression that the band thought they needed fancy lighting systems in order to perform. The crowd seemed to be composed of really big fans who wouldn't have minded had they played a song without the lights while waiting for it to be fixed. After five minutes it was clear that nothing could be done and the band came back out. The only redeeming aspect of this concert was Mayer Hawthorne, the second opening act. My friend and I had never heard him before, but definitely walked out big fans, agreeing that he is probably our first or second favorite opening act ever, and we average about 10-15 concerts per year.
Passion Pit was incredible!
by TessMarie on 3/29/10The Rapids Theatre - Niagara FallsRating: 5 out of 5Wow. Their record is amazing but they are even better live, which is rare to find in a band these days. Mike Angelakos has an amazing falsetto, but what is unique about his voice is that he can belt in his falsetto. WWOOOOOOOOO PASSION PIT!
couldn't have been much better
by mperr on 3/29/10The Rapids Theatre - Niagara FallsRating: 5 out of 5Amazing show and venue - we'll definitely look to see passion pit again, they are no doubt a band on the rise, and we will look for anyone decent playing this venue bc that was almost equally as amazing... great time !
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!
by chillrock777 on 3/29/10The Rapids Theatre - Niagara FallsRating: 5 out of 5This was a high energy show from start to finish, if you like Passion Pit even a little their shows are a must see. I have a new found respect for synth!

minus the light fiasco at the beginning it was one of the best concerts I've ever been too.
Do you like fun?
by mikerybacki on 3/11/10House of Blues - BostonRating: 5 out of 5If you like fun, and joy, and dancing, and incredibleness you should probably see Passion Pit. Saw them a year ago and they were 234 times better this time...they get better by the day. Freaking great live show!
Great show, but longest openers ever!
by SassND on 2/4/10House of Blues Boston - BostonRating: 4 out of 5Passion Pit put on a great performance and I thought the opening acts generally appealed to the average Passion Pit listener. I didn't appreciate the fact that the main act didn't go on until 3 hours after the doors opened though. Call me an old lady, but it was a school night!
Better than expected: Passion Pit
by Anonymous on 1/18/10Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5I love the bands music but was unsure how their much synthed sound would translate to a live show. To my surprise it was even better than the album. The lead singer has an amazing voice with total control of his high falsetto. Over all a great show from this young band!
Incredible
by JadedMuse on 1/18/10Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5Nothing short of a spiritual experience. I loved every minute of it and did not want it to end. They are a truly talented band who deserve nothing but great successes in their career.
Passion Pit Rocked It
by TheOtherBigNick on 1/15/10House of Blues Boston - BostonRating: 5 out of 5Great show - lights, music, action of the crowd. Band sounded awesome - nothing off key, and they were full of energy. Crowd was pretty wild. Must see.
Amazing!
by vmmmm on 1/15/10Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5I had been looking forward to this concert for months and these guys did not disappoint!! Their sound was absolutely amazing live and they were really fun to see perform in person. Terminal 5 was a nice venue. The three balcony levels gave a lot more people good views and no spot seemed like it would be too far from stage (although I was on the bottom fairly close to the stage)...as far as price, I paid $7 for a small, well gin and tonic, but my friend paid $18 for a double Jack and Coke(!) Overall, I LOVED it!!!

This show was nothing short of amazing. Passion Pit was briliant, and the opening bands weren't half bad either!
Opening Bands almost eclipsed the Main Act.
by Kcgig on 1/14/10Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5Well what can i say? It was a great show. 3 bands, each one amazing in it's own way. First was Brahms, a 3 piece band, with very danceable music, and a great presence. Then was the insanely cooky Tragedy. They are "The tri-state's #1 Metal Bee Gees tribute band." They were more funny and entertaining than anything else. And finally Passion Pit. They were the headliners, the main act, and they did shine. They were great, and the crowds went crazy, They are much better live, than listening to them on your ipod thats for sure.

Passion Pit is amazing. They did not let me down in any way. And even the openers blew me away. Best concert I have been to.

Passion Pit show was great. People were definitely having a good time. Terminal 5 can be overwhelming, though. The coat check line is absurd at the end of shows, for example - there should really be one on each floor. Opening band was good too.
Passion Pit was worth sitting in cold for 5 hours!
by Kel17 on 1/12/10Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5My friend and I arrived at Terminal 5 extremely early, but that paid off when we got the front row. It was really the best place to be because Michael Angelakos was right in front of us. Passion Pit really did put on one of the best shows I've seen. Their whole set up with the light boards in the back was really awesome. They had really good stage presence and the their performance was even better than I expected. It was totally different from the album. I absolutely loved it and I can't wait to see them again!
Passion Pit was AMAZING!!
by Anonymous on 1/12/10Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5Amazing show!! Passion Pit is amazing live, they sound the same live if not better. Great energy too!! Although the venue was terrible the Bowery in NYC, very unorganized with coat check. But I would go back if it were the only chance I'd have in seeing Passion Pit live again, they were that good!
