About

Ever since the release of their 2008 EP Chunk of Change, Passion Pit’s unique brand of indietronica has appealed to fans of both indie rock and electronic dance music, generating heaps of praise from those bastions of hipster cred otherwise known as music blogs. With the release of sophomore album Gossamer in 2012, the band kept crowds moving with a collection of ambitious and impeccably produced gems like “Take a Walk” and “Constant Conversations,” earning the album a No. 4 position on the Billboard 200. Passion Pit originated as the solo project of frontman Michael Angelakos, who penned the project’s first songs for his girlfriend before enlisting some of his classmates from Berklee College of Music to start a group. The band’s debut full-length Manners (2009) received praise from critics and bloggers for its catchy and danceable songs, including breakthrough single “Sleepyhead” and kaleidoscopic electro hit “The Reeling.” On tour in 2013, Passion Pit has been treating fans to high-octane live performances that perfectly capture the spirit of their sparkling pop anthems.

  • Passion Pit was amazing live!

by jilltothemaxx on 4/8/10Ogden Theatre - DenverRating: 3 out of 5

The show was too short though. :[ I haven't been to a show that ended before midnight in years. I was shocked that Passion Pit was already on when I arrived at 10pm. They were amazing live, but I wish their set would have lasted longer.

First two bands were alright, but passion pit made the night. They sounded awesome and the cranberries cover was an added twist. The band is passionate about what they do and it made me enjoy the concert even more. Would definitely see again when they hopefully come back to Columbus,OH.

by MikeAndCate on 4/6/10Beaumont Club - Kansas CityRating: 5 out of 5

They sound just as good live and they do on CD. I never beleived they could have pulled that off with the electronic sounds they produce. Cudos to the band for blowing us away in tornado alley!

  • Passion Pit was Schmamazing!

    by jmdom613 on 4/6/10Beaumont Club - Kansas CityRating: 5 out of 5

Bear Hands and Mayer Hawthorne opened for Passion Pit and they were both very good, but Passion Pit stole the show. Everyone was moving and singing with the energy Passion Pit brought to the stage. They sounded exactly like their cd, which I like a lot. Overall this was a great show!

  • Passion Pit

    by Chelsey23 on 4/6/10First Avenue - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Guest bands.... I could have done without. They really didn't have anything in common with Passion Pit's musical style. But, I do understand Passion Pit only has a limited amount of songs to choose from and they would have had a short concert without the two guest bands. Once Passion Pit hit the stage, awestruck is the only word I have for their performance. Amazing, amazing, amazing. Blew my mind, to say the least.

  • Passion Pit-SO good.

by Kenzerino on 4/5/10First Avenue - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Very little can start off an entire crowd of people into a giant dance party with the same love of a band/song. However sad, it was amusing knowing that the bus on the side of the hwy was their's-only humours because they're the only ones playing on an Easter Sunday and it HAD to be theirs. I also have not heard an entire crowd of people cry because they were deprived of their favorite song. This saucy band with their great crew made my entire night. For sure one of the best shows I've seen in a LONG while.

  • Best Easter yet!

by SarahJay on 4/5/10First Avenue - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

This show was amazing! The crowd was so excited to be there and they kept the energy at an all time high. This show was worth every penny and the wait for the first row! Can't wait to see them again!

  • dream come true.

by swaggarr on 4/5/10First Avenue - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Passion Pit dominated the club. I think the only thing that would make it better would be an opening act that sounded similar. Nevertheless, amazing show. I danced all night!

  • by WhattheRock on 4/2/10Lifestyle Communities Pavilion - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

The first opening band was a huge let down, the second was pretty good, and obviously passion pit stole the show. one amazingly fun, hot and sweaty dance party to kick ass music. AMAZING band. the encore of 'sleepyhead' ended the night PERFECTLY.

  • Insane.

by Anonymous on 4/2/10Lifestyle Communities Pavilion - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

Passion Pit, after seeing them 3 times to previous to this, outdid themselves with their show this week in Columbus. They were loud, they were fun, they loved the audience and the audience loved them right back. Throw in some brews and crowdsurfing, not to mention a sea of throbbing fans... what more could you ask from at a show? Nothing, I say.
