Ever since the release of their 2008 EP Chunk of Change, Passion Pit’s unique brand of indietronica has appealed to fans of both indie rock and electronic dance music, generating heaps of praise from those bastions of hipster cred otherwise known as music blogs. With the release of sophomore album Gossamer in 2012, the band kept crowds moving with a collection of ambitious and impeccably produced gems like “Take a Walk” and “Constant Conversations,” earning the album a No. 4 position on the Billboard 200. Passion Pit originated as the solo project of frontman Michael Angelakos, who penned the project’s first songs for his girlfriend before enlisting some of his classmates from Berklee College of Music to start a group. The band’s debut full-length Manners (2009) received praise from critics and bloggers for its catchy and danceable songs, including breakthrough single “Sleepyhead” and kaleidoscopic electro hit “The Reeling.” On tour in 2013, Passion Pit has been treating fans to high-octane live performances that perfectly capture the spirit of their sparkling pop anthems.

great show. all three groups put on a great performance and their acts really complemented each other. Passion Pit puts on such a high energy concert. Highly reccomended.
Was really looking forward to this show. The opening bands were pretty average, kinda annoying to have to wait around for like 3 hours to see the headliner. But Passion Pit put on an unbelievable show. I was on the floor about 5 feet away from the stage, and everyone was singing so loudly and dancing around it was so fun. Would definitely see this band anywhere they go.
This concert was SO good. I was uneasy at first because I wasn't sure if they could be as good as their album but they definitely topped it. Definitely a great concert and great energy, everyone should attend!!
The venue was great. The opening band wasn't too good. However, once passion pit started, they were absolutely amazing! I will definitely go see them in concert again if I get the chance.
Nice venue. Excellent views from everywhere. Passion pit was awesome live. Tons of energy and lots of fun.
Amazing, the band was great, full of energy! It was everything I thought it would be and more.
Never thought that an electric rock band like PP could sound so good live. It was a fun, high energy show. plus the bartenders @ the Warfield poor a strong drink!!!
One of the BEST concerts I've attended. The venue was great and the show even better! Come back soon Passion Pit!
Passion Pit apparently was not so good at Treasure Island 2009, but I did not attend. Definitely was impressed with them at the Warefield SF though. Overall, it was a really awesome show. Maybe they just play superb in smaller venues? But either way, I would definitely go see them again!
incredible energy. infectious happiness! such a fantastic crowd vibe!! cant wait to see them again!
One of the best concerts Ive ever been to. PP rocks!
The opening bands were there forever! we got there at 8 and waited 2 hours for the bands to leave. As soon as Passion Pit came on though, everyone was there dancing around and the ambiance was great. They only played for 1:15 and they hadn't played alll their songs on their album which was a disappointment. However, if you really like dancing and are over 21, then it should be fun!
Amazing, there isn't really too much else. It could have gone 1 of 2 ways, and it went in the right direction. I was extremely impresssed with the way the songs were adapted for the live show. In most cases it would feel unnatural and loses a big part of the song itself. This was not the case, in fact I really hope they release a live record. (Which lead singer Michael Angelakos said they were recording!) Overall I was amazed. It was such an amazing conert experience. Michael Angelakos interacts with crowd really well and really feels the music when he performs fueling the direction of the concert. This is a must see if electro pop/indie pop is your thing. The live show was even faster paced and more electro fueled which I personally like if done correctly. Which it was, it had a sllight house influence on some tracks which was fun to dance to. Ultimately, I'm in love...
by far the best concert i have ever seen in my entire life. the whole entire theater was practically shaking from the audience jumping with joy to michael angelakos's masterpieces. i am in love. he is so connected to his music it makes everyone else that much more into the concert. i was in the dead center and one away from the front and it was AMAZING i love you, passion pit
The opening band, Bear Hands, was ok. They started off with a boring song...super super boring. There's nothing wrong with slow songs, but when you come to a Passion Pit and Mayer Hawthorne show, you expect a little more upbeat show. Then Mayer Hawthorne came out and it was just fun and fantastic. The music was great and they performed fantastically. Passion Pit also did a great job. After the show, the song that goes "Higher and higher and higher" was stuck in my head.
Fun show! Sure, the vocals weren't perfect but we were so busy dancing it wasn't really a big issue. Definitely get there early enough to grab a good spot on the floor, I can't imagine enjoying the show as much if you're further back.
passion pit knows how to perform. they are super high energy and keep the crowd going. the music was spot on. it was a nice perk that they were filming the concert too :)
This is one of the best shows, start to finish. From the openers to the main course of Passion Pit. Love these guys! The stage set was mesmerizing and the music was energizing. I would see them again anytime.
I had no idea Passion Pit would be this great live. I felt connected with the entire crowd and had the experience any concert-goer hopes for. A+
Passion Pit really rocked the house, there was great energy in the band and the crowd. I think I would have had even more fun had I memorized more of the songs before.
