About

Ever since the release of their 2008 EP Chunk of Change, Passion Pit’s unique brand of indietronica has appealed to fans of both indie rock and electronic dance music, generating heaps of praise from those bastions of hipster cred otherwise known as music blogs. With the release of sophomore album Gossamer in 2012, the band kept crowds moving with a collection of ambitious and impeccably produced gems like “Take a Walk” and “Constant Conversations,” earning the album a No. 4 position on the Billboard 200. Passion Pit originated as the solo project of frontman Michael Angelakos, who penned the project’s first songs for his girlfriend before enlisting some of his classmates from Berklee College of Music to start a group. The band’s debut full-length Manners (2009) received praise from critics and bloggers for its catchy and danceable songs, including breakthrough single “Sleepyhead” and kaleidoscopic electro hit “The Reeling.” On tour in 2013, Passion Pit has been treating fans to high-octane live performances that perfectly capture the spirit of their sparkling pop anthems.

  • Great Show

by Overpriceddddd on 6/18/10The Tabernacle - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

The band sounded great and the opening act Toyko Police club was interesting. Great set list and loved the cover. The Tabernacle is too hot in the summer but the show had a lot of energy, so the heat was worth it.

  • Infectious

by Chewka on 6/18/10Miami Beach Filmore at the Jackie Gleason Theater - Miami BeachRating: 5 out of 5

The energy at the show was infectious! Everyone was jumping up and down every time the bass drum beat got louder (like in the choruses). Trying to sing along with the lyrics was a bit difficult except for the "oh noo ooo oo." I just wish there was the same energy for Tokyo Police Club, who was awesome too. The merch was pretty expensive, but if I had $30 for a shirt, I probably would have bought one.

  • Passion Pit delivers

by drummer27 on 6/17/10Fillmore Miami Beach - Miami BeachRating: 4 out of 5

Very good show, high energy for the most part. Did not play "Seaweed Song" which is rediculous but other than that it was very good. Openers Tokyo Police Club and Brahams were not my cup of tea, would rather see an up-and-coming electronica act open for these guys, something with more energy.

  • Extremely Memorable

Could not have asked for a better combination! Brahms was a great addition, and Tokyo Police Club and Passion Pit were absolutely amazing.

  • Incredible Venue

by LouTheLump on 6/17/10House of Blues New Orleans - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

The bands seemed so happy to be playing in such a unique and established venue. Their light shows were outstanding, giving the appearance that they were in some sort of aquarium of colors and lights.

Such a fun show! their energy is amazing! They had the whole audience captivated and jumping around the whole time. Passion Pit is definitely a lot of fun to see live!

  • Awesome concert!

by 10islvr on 6/17/10House of Blues New Orleans - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

I didn't get there in time to see Brahms, but I saw all of Tokyo Police Club and Passion Pit. They were both fantastic and so was the venue. House of Blues is awesome. Tokyo Police Club played a 45 minute set with some of their bigger hits and some newer songs. Passion Pit was awesome. They played all of my favorite songs and ended with Sleepyhead. The whole crowd was into it the entire concert and that made it even better. Live sound and light mixing of course, lots of keyboards and synthesizers on stage. The only possible downside is that they only played for about an hour. I wish they would have played all night!

  • UN-FREAKING BELIEVABLE

by Anonymous on 6/17/10The Ritz Ybor - Ybor CityRating: 5 out of 5

Ok, so I have been a so-so Passion Pit fan for a little over a year, and going to this concert was the highlight of this summer, the whole room was jamming out to the awesome music that just coursed through our veins, it was a memory I will cherish for a long time.

  • Passion Pit rocked

by TampaSarah on 6/16/10The Ritz Ybor - Ybor CityRating: 5 out of 5

Passion Pit was wonderful. Tons of energy and the lead singer's voice sounded great. My only complaint was that the theater got stifflingly hot about halfway through the concert. The light show that accompanied the band was great. Everyone seemed to enjoy the show and the crowd was generally amiable. I would definitely see Passion Pit in concert again. Tokyo Police Club opened for Passion Pit. They played for a long time and put on the best performance I could imagine from that band.

  • PASSION PIT was beast!!!

by PASSIONPIT001 on 6/15/10The Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theater - Miami BeachRating: 5 out of 5

PASSION PIT blew me away, I went there expecting to see this great band but I was not aware that the two bands opening for them would be so great. BRAHMS and TOKYO POLICE CLUB were amazing!!!

  • GREAT SHOW!

by amandacastro on 6/15/10The Fillmore Charlotte - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

I totally recommend a live Passion Pit show to any fan! It was full of energy and "passion". This band has gotten so much better performing live shows. The lead singer, Michael, was not off key and his falsetto was even better live! This band really knows how to get a crowd excited and pumping. Bottom Line: Go see them while you can! It's worth the money for tickets!

  • Passion Pit Rock The House

by TampaMusicChick on 6/15/10The Ritz Ybor - Ybor CityRating: 5 out of 5

Passion Pit was great! I dont know how he does it but the lead singer manages to keep his vocals consistently awesome! You don't need to know every word to every song to enjoy Passion Pit live! Actually, you don't even have to know any song to enjoy them. Great performance. These guys are going places.

by SiennaV on 6/15/10The Ritz Ybor - Ybor CityRating: 5 out of 5

Didn't get there in time to see the 1st band...but Tokyo Police Club and Passion Pit were amazing. The energy throughout the whole place during Passion Pit was so positive and just contagious. Of course the one bathroom break I took was when they started Littlle Secrets...My friend and I bolted back to our place so fast I know I knocked a few peoples beers. Sorry!

  • Beyond expectations

I was so impressed at how great Passion Pit was live! They put so much energy into their show, you couldn't help but dance the entire time. Even my friends who had never heard a song were jammin' out. I highly recommend seeing them live.

The show was amazing. I went to the Tampa and Orlando show, and Passion Pit was killer at both. They make you feel like they like being where ever they are playing. The energy they got out of the crowd was great. I will see them every chance I get.
