About

Ever since the release of their 2008 EP Chunk of Change, Passion Pit’s unique brand of indietronica has appealed to fans of both indie rock and electronic dance music, generating heaps of praise from those bastions of hipster cred otherwise known as music blogs. With the release of sophomore album Gossamer in 2012, the band kept crowds moving with a collection of ambitious and impeccably produced gems like “Take a Walk” and “Constant Conversations,” earning the album a No. 4 position on the Billboard 200. Passion Pit originated as the solo project of frontman Michael Angelakos, who penned the project’s first songs for his girlfriend before enlisting some of his classmates from Berklee College of Music to start a group. The band’s debut full-length Manners (2009) received praise from critics and bloggers for its catchy and danceable songs, including breakthrough single “Sleepyhead” and kaleidoscopic electro hit “The Reeling.” On tour in 2013, Passion Pit has been treating fans to high-octane live performances that perfectly capture the spirit of their sparkling pop anthems.

Passion Pit was AWESOME! They definitely blew my mind, I can even describe the way the whole lighting, back drop, and music just made everything absolutely AMAZING! I couldn't ask for a better venue to go to to see these guys! It was up, close, and personal, but at the same time you could really get a feel for what was going on!

Really enjoyed Tokyo Police (the most) & Passion Pit! Bands couldn't have been better. Only bad thing was The Loft was way too crowded.

by PaddyCamp on 6/22/10The Palladium Ballroom - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

A small band opened for Passion Pit called brahms and they were pretty good, they had nice beats and they were different. Tokyo Police Club followed them and they were good. I enjoyed seeing them live. Lastly Passion Pit came on, after a long wait that was well worth it. They were sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good. I actually danced and I never do, so that means they were amazing. I would forsure come to town to see them anytime. Well worth the money and way worth the time. Great show!!!! HIGHLY recommended.

  • it was the bomb

by blazin on 6/22/10The Palladium Ballroom - DallasRating: 4 out of 5

Passion Pit and Tokyo Police Club were great! Brahms was a wonderful opener. Sometimes the opening bands can be a little iffy but they did a great job. However, the crowd was by far the rudest of any show I've ever been to. They were very aggressive and pushy, they talked through every song and over 97% of the crowd was smoking weed. It was a little distracting. I would probably not see them again just because of the crowd. Minus the crowd, the show was great and the bands did an amazing job. It was like a giant rave, I just wish the audience would have had a little more respect for the music.

  • Amazing

    by PassionPit92 on 6/22/10The Palladium Ballroom - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

The opening bands they had play weren't so great. No one was really excited for them, but then when Passion Pit came on the whole experience was a hundred times better. They were amazing. Their whole set felt so intense. It was just awesome.

  • Best show I have seen in a while!

by Danood on 6/22/10The Palladium Ballroom - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

I went to see Passion Pit for the first time with high expectations, but they far exceeded them! The rocked it and the crowd was feeling it. Their cover of The Cranberries at the end and ending the show with Sleepyhead was incredible.

  • MUST SEE!

by Anonymous on 6/22/10The Palladium Ballroom - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

I have been on my own little summer concert tour. This was at the top of my list with LCD Soundsystem. I would recommend anyone to go to this even if you only know one song!!!

  • Passion Pit w/ Tokyo Police Club & Brahms

by Citispud on 6/22/10The Palladium Ballroom - DallasRating: 4 out of 5

Great show with all the hits you'd expect to hear!! There were also some new tracks peppered in there. I see on average about 40 shows a year and this was def. toward the top! I heard rumors that Passion Pit was so-so live... But any rumors were squashed based on their performance last night! Tokyo Police Club killed it from start to finish! They totally rocked! And b/c they are so young I'd strongly advise keeping your ears open for anything they touch! Brahms were an added bonus and I plan to further check out / download their stuff. Overall,it was a great experience and I'm not gonna lie my ears are still kinda ringing... Get there early and get a good spot up front and center! You will not regret it! Come back to Dallas soon!!! - Citispud

  • Passion Pit - Unexpectedly AWESOME SHOW

by MattyRow on 6/22/10The Palladium Ballroom - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

I've heard these guys a few times and bought tix to the show since I liked their single. I wasn't prepared for how INSANELY AWESOME they are live. They completely connect with the crowd. The lighting was great. Everyone danced the whole time. I finally saw crowd surfing, in Dallas. That hasn't happened ever.

  • Rock Out

You have to see them live! It was Awesome! Everyone was having a blast!!

  • by Anonymous on 6/22/10The Palladium Ballroom - DallasRating: 4 out of 5

Openers were really good. Passion Pit's performance was incredible. Lead singer could go without using the f*** word so much in front of a crowd that young, but other than that it was worth the money.

  • Best concert EVER.

by concertjunkieee on 6/20/10The Tabernacle - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Passion Pit was INCREDIBLE. Michael sounds so amazing live; him and the rest of the band are so energetic the whole time. They know how to get the crowd jumping and singing along. It was definitely the sweatiest, funnest, most upbeat concert I've ever been to. Afterwards I met Michael by the tour bus and he was definitely SO nice. He signed everything I had and took a picture with me. Amazing night!

  • Passion Pit was incredible.

by BetterThings09 on 6/19/10The Ritz Ybor - Ybor CityRating: 5 out of 5

The band themselves were freaking amazing. I was screaming like a little girl the minute Michael Angelakos walked out on stage. What I hated was how HOT the venue was. I was literally shoulder to shoulder with all these annoying little children who kept trying to mosh and push to the front, and on top of that I felt like I might have had a heat stroke like 3 times. HOWEVER, Passion Pit was PERFECTION and Id do it all over again just for them. Also, Brahms was pretty cool.

  • passion pit, tokyo police club, brahms=good, bette

by AnneJanne on 6/19/10House of Blues New Orleans - New OrleansRating: 4 out of 5

r, best Passion pit was amazing the set and light design totally enhanced the mood. Everyone got real into TPC. But the biggest surprise was the unknown Brahms, these guys can rock and have great talent. I can't wait to see them again.
