About

Ever since the release of their 2008 EP Chunk of Change, Passion Pit’s unique brand of indietronica has appealed to fans of both indie rock and electronic dance music, generating heaps of praise from those bastions of hipster cred otherwise known as music blogs. With the release of sophomore album Gossamer in 2012, the band kept crowds moving with a collection of ambitious and impeccably produced gems like “Take a Walk” and “Constant Conversations,” earning the album a No. 4 position on the Billboard 200. Passion Pit originated as the solo project of frontman Michael Angelakos, who penned the project’s first songs for his girlfriend before enlisting some of his classmates from Berklee College of Music to start a group. The band’s debut full-length Manners (2009) received praise from critics and bloggers for its catchy and danceable songs, including breakthrough single “Sleepyhead” and kaleidoscopic electro hit “The Reeling.” On tour in 2013, Passion Pit has been treating fans to high-octane live performances that perfectly capture the spirit of their sparkling pop anthems.

  • Passion Pit Good! Fieldhouse Bad.

by somonelse on 2/13/13RPI Houston Field House - TroyRating: 4 out of 5

The show was incredible. Big venue, and passionate crowd. Docked a star because for some unexplained reason, some of the tickets sold were for the floor, and some were for the arena seating Only, and there was no specification or way to tell which one you bought since all said "general admission." So a friends ticket was for seating only, or so we were told, and she was barred from going to the floor. At least tell people when they buy their ticket, because general admission should mean exactly that.

  • Matt and Kim Stole the Show

by Jared919 on 2/13/13RPI Houston Field House - TroyRating: 4 out of 5

Passion Pit was awesome and I was stunned by the range of their lead singer but Matt and Kim with their quirkiness and amazing energy stole the show. Definitely have a crush on Kim now, shes a blast

I was very disappointed. I was really looking forward to seeing passion pit and I felt like it was a waste. The show was rescheduled due to a snowstorm and they clearly did not want to be in Boston (their hometown i might add) or performing. Overall they were unenthusiastic and played only for 1 hour and spoke of coming back at a later date to Boston for a better bigger show this summer. I payed a lot to see them this time and don´t want to have to come back and buy new tickets to see them be good.

Matt and Kim rocked. Passion Pit was kinda lame. Light show was underwhelming. songs signed like they were straight off the album. i could have heard that at home.

  • Passion Pit will NOT disappoint!!!

by hiekerrr on 2/12/13Agganis Arena - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Passion Pit was one of the best concerts that I have ever seen. Their energy was tangible, and their sound was phenomenal. If you pass them up, you are seriously missing an opportunity to experience awesomeness. I don't know if I have ever smiled that hard for so long before, and it was because I was having so much fun. You can tell that they are having such a good time up on stage, and it makes the concert great!

  • Passion Pit is great LIVE

by Sidnai on 2/12/13Madison Square Garden - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Matt & Kim are great live and all their songs were great in person. Passion Pit had a great set list and really rocked out with some of their most popular songs as well as their less popular ones.

They were amazing and even in a big arena it felt intimate.

  • Passion Pit put on an awesome show!

by Anonymous on 2/12/13Agganis Arena - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Despite the snow storm delaying the concert, Passion Pit put on a really great show - they had immense energy and the crowd was totally into it. I liked how they played 'Take A Walk' in the middle of the set which gave everyone a second wind, and then they closed with Sleepyhead which was the perfect way to end their show. The Matt & Kim opener was awesome as well - really engaging with the crowd, highly entertaining and music that pumped everyone up for an all-around good time.

Easily one of the best shows I've ever seen. Matt and Kim were awesome and Passion Pit may or may not have made me dance so hard that I was sore for two days afterwards. Totally worth braving a blizzard for.

  • Passion Pit - an amazing performance

by vahanson on 2/12/13Agganis Arena - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

Matt and Kim toured long with Passion Pit, and the show was wonderful. Matt and Kim were funny and very interactive, their sings sounded great, and they were very appreciative of Passion Pit and the tour. Passion Pit opened up magnificently and thanked Boston for being its hometown - their songs were spot on and the band was energetic and great. The set list had a good variety, ending in their most famous hit, Sleepyhead. Overall just great quality, only complaint is that I wish I had been able to get floor tickets!

Big fan of Passion Pit already... but never got the appeal of Matt and Kim until now. They kill it live and I would see this lineup again in a heartbeat!

This was the night of my life. Everything was perfect the concert started promptly when it said it would. The bands all performed amazing. The venue employees were great. This was just all around a great concert. If you haven't seen passion pit live, and you like their music it's a must because it is a whole new world.

  • Passion Pit + Matt & Kim

by silvestri on 2/11/13Madison Square Garden - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was really great! Michael Angelakos was wonderful! The fact that he was so happy about performing at MSG was touching! I'm so glad they sang Sleepyhead! It was so awesome!!!! I actually liked the seats we were in because we were right in the middle and we had a wall against our backs so we didn't have people spilling beer on us. Plus we were right next to the suites and people up there were handing us food and drinks lol! I don't know if it was the seats or the way the music was balanced but I had a tough time hearing Matt and Michael sing sometimes. It's like the bass overpowered their voices.

  • Passion pit HYFR

by Itsarianna on 2/11/13Madison Square Garden - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I loved this show so much starting with icona pop. Then Matt and Kim were incredible and Kim twerked on the audience. Then passion pit came on and it was amazing to see everyone in MSG dancing and singing and having a great time. I don't think anyone was sitting down. I just wish that they postponed it or have refunds to the people who couldn't go because of the storm. I almost couldn't get home and a lot of people couldn't make it. But Im glad I risked my life to go
