Ever since the release of their 2008 EP Chunk of Change, Passion Pit’s unique brand of indietronica has appealed to fans of both indie rock and electronic dance music, generating heaps of praise from those bastions of hipster cred otherwise known as music blogs. With the release of sophomore album Gossamer in 2012, the band kept crowds moving with a collection of ambitious and impeccably produced gems like “Take a Walk” and “Constant Conversations,” earning the album a No. 4 position on the Billboard 200. Passion Pit originated as the solo project of frontman Michael Angelakos, who penned the project’s first songs for his girlfriend before enlisting some of his classmates from Berklee College of Music to start a group. The band’s debut full-length Manners (2009) received praise from critics and bloggers for its catchy and danceable songs, including breakthrough single “Sleepyhead” and kaleidoscopic electro hit “The Reeling.” On tour in 2013, Passion Pit has been treating fans to high-octane live performances that perfectly capture the spirit of their sparkling pop anthems.

Bought tickets to Passion Pit for my kids. They loved the show. Said it was the best concert they had been to.
Their opening act was Matt & Kim which I actually enjoyed more than the main event. Although, I think I would have enjoyed PP if I knew more of there songs. It was still a good night :)
Show was FANTASTIC! Really enjoyed Passion Pit! Absolutely amazing show! Matt and Kim were very good, really enjoyed their show too! Not sure who the opening/first act was. Two girls singing, sort of dub-step. They didn't say who they were, no MC to announce who they were. We liked them, but they are a mystery. Stood in a new spot this concert and it was much better for dancing, viewing, enjoying, acoustics etc. Yup, it was a GREAT show!
Overall this was a great experience. The theater was the perfect size and I really felt like I could connect more with the band because of it. The opening acts were great as well. Matt & Kim was sooooo unbelieveably amazing. Kim even crowed surfed. Then came Passion Pit, which blew my mind. I was alittle unsure how they would sound because they use a lot of tech equipment. But they pulled it off! They played all the favorites and the ones that I didn't know, I was still able to dance to.
It was awesome! I loved when there were bubbles for Take a Walk. The group members were not interacting much with the public though, especially compared to Matt&Kim who opened the show.
all around wonderful Passion Pit is brilliant live and Michael really connects with the audience (it's like he's looking directly at you)
Loud, upbeat, great light displays, awesome energy from both performers; if you're a big fan as am I you'll love it.
Danced for 3.5 hours straight. Icona Pop rocked it, Matt & Kim stole the show, and Passion Pit was awesome, as usual.
The bands were amazing and the crowd was very alive. I'd love for them to come back to the State Theatre again!!
Passion Pit may be the least likely band to ever headline a show at Madison Square Garden, but they certainly did just that, and met the challenge with extraordinary results. Icona Pop and Matt & Kim were both great acts to get the place warmed up (especially during the oncoming blizzard), but Passion Pit straight burned the place down. For a band who probably never played a stage remotely as big or legendary, Michael Angelakos and his crew played as if it were merely second nature to them, without a doubt. Definitely up there as one of my best concerts ever, and I am just nothing short of extremely proud of them for how far they've come.
Passion Pit and Matt and Kim were simply incredible! So much energy and positive vibes! <3
Great venue. Good size crowd. Great acoustics. Nice beer selection.
The show was awesome!!! I had such an incredible time!!!
One of the best shows I've seen all year! All 3 groups were great, lots of energy!
AWESOME CONCERT IN EVERY WAY! Seriously so much talent in their music!
If not for the amazing performance by Matt and Kim, I would've been extremely disappointed. Passion Pit sounded awful and gave a lackluster performance. The sound of the band swallowed the vocals and the band did not sound good. I'm far from an expert but I do know that when you're getting vibration and distortion, something's not right. The sound may not be the band's fault but the lack of energy was. blah. Left in the middle of the set.
Show was fantastic, loved the venue. Opening acts were great too, awesome night.
Great opening acts (Matt and Kim were spectacular as always, and Icona Pop is a great electro band on the rise), an energetic cast of performers and lights that would impress anyone, I would recommend Passion Pit to anyone at all interested in electropop music.
This was one of the best shows I have been too and I have been going to concerts since I was a little girl. Matt and Kim were great, Kim is hysterical and quite the spitfire...her walking into the audience with a cast on was ridiculous. Passion Pit sounded incredible. They were tight and the energy in the room was beautiful. Everyone was having FUN. So much DANCING!
No re-entry, no drinks served, and the opener (Matt and Kim) actually covered some songs that passion pit later played. I'd rather listen to them at home, what a waste.
