About

Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me! is NPR's Peabody Award-winning comedy news quiz show. Host Peter Sagal leads a rotating panel of comedians, writers, listener contestants, and celebrity guests through a rollicking review of the week's news.  Contestants vie for the most coveted prize in all of public radio: a custom-recorded greeting by any of our cast members for their voicemail.

Every week, Wait, Wait.... Don't Tell Me! records in front of a live audience, then carefully edits out all the raunchy, inappropriate, shocking, and hilarious stuff so we can broadcast something that doesn't get NPR in trouble... well, more trouble. The only way you can find out what our panelists and guests really think about the news is to come see for yourself. And please--don't tell NPR. Also, we're all much more attractive than we sound.

  • Could not hear

by cbf on 10/15/25Neal S Blaisdell Concert Hall - HonoluluRating: 3 out of 5

Wait, Wait... Don't Tell Me! is SO funny. The guests are hysterical, but, only if you can hear them. I could hear the telephone call-ins but could not understand the host, not the announcer, not the panel or special guest about 2/3 of the time. I had great seats in the 11th row, but cannot say it was worth the $180. Happy to support Public Radio, but really disappointed to miss out on most of the jokes. I was looking forward to hearing what I missed on the radio the following day, but found out it was not going to be aired as one show, and not anytime soon.

  • This was the best Wait Wait we've ever seen!

by CP on 10/14/25Neal S Blaisdell Concert Hall - HonoluluRating: 5 out of 5

I'm a long time fan of Wait Wait and have seen it live six times in different cities. This night was, by far, the most enjoyable episode yet. We laughed till we cried. Peter was in top form, and the announcer Alzo was sharp with a dry wit. I can't wait to see them when they return next October!

  • Poor audio for the live audience

by Sher on 10/14/25Neal S Blaisdell Concert Hall - HonoluluRating: 3 out of 5

Peter and Alzo were great, the panel was great -- if only I could've heard what they were saying. The audio was simply too soft. I felt like I caught about 60-75% of the show -- the rest could not be heard or understood because of poor audio. And if the audience dared to laugh or clap, I heard absolutely nothing. The audio was probably optimized for the podcast recording but not for the live audience. A friend who also attended the same show said the same thing and her husband who wears a hearing aid heard even less. Such a shame.

  • Hilarious

by Jojo on 10/14/25Neal S Blaisdell Concert Hall - HonoluluRating: 5 out of 5

The show was fantastic and we enjoyed the guests very much. We were sitting in the balcony, row Q, very far back, and the sound quality wasn't the greatest, especially for "Dulcé"so we missed a good bit of what she said. I heard several others sitting near us say "what did they say"a number of times so it wasn't just us. I think the mics / speakers etc. need to be upgraded so that everything is audible all the way in the back.

  • One of the best shows ever

This is one of the only shows I've seen that kept me laughing the entire time!! great event.

  • Please don't wait!wait! 24 more years to return!

by Lizochka on 10/13/25Neal S Blaisdell Concert Hall - HonoluluRating: 5 out of 5

It was well worth the wait!wait! to see this ensemble in person. What a hilariously witty, brilliant evening! Mahalo for two hours of much-needed laughs; I have not had such an entertaining evening in a long time, so either I don't get out much or you guys were genuinely very funny. Come back soon!

  • Fantastic! A must see

by Beth F. on 10/13/25Neal S Blaisdell Concert Hall - HonoluluRating: 5 out of 5

Was way more funny live than listening on the radio! A must do for all fans and a great way to be introduced to public radio. Please support your local station.

  • Wait, I will tell you.

by Mike on 10/13/25Neal S Blaisdell Concert Hall - HonoluluRating: 5 out of 5

Great show. Happy to support NPR in the face of the right wing onslaught. Only problem is, Valet parking was a complete rip off. You had to walk about a hundred yards from the valet area to the entrance. Then, when you got to the front, you notice that there were handicap stalls in the regular parking, at less than half the distance. Valet parking was horrible.

  • Expected the show, but didn't read the description

by Matt on 9/15/25The Bell House - BrooklynRating: 3 out of 5

I am embarrassed to say that I did not read the description, and expected to see a taping of the show, rather than a bunch of mediocre comedians that were associated with the show performing.

  • So fun!

by Lori P on 5/19/25DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

After listening to WWDTM on NPR for years, it was so fun to see how the show actually gets made!
