Nashville Predators History

The Predators joined the NHL in 1998 during a two-year expansion that saw the League add the Atlanta Thrashers, Columbus Blue Jackets and Minnesota Wild. The team made its first trip to the Playoffs during the 2003-04 season, and proceeded to make the postseason six of the next seven seasons. Nashville won its first Playoff series against the Anaheim Ducks in 2011, and returned to the second round again the following spring.

Two seasons later, with Peter Laviolette as Head Coach, Nashville began their four-year run as a Stanley Cup contender. With P.K. Subban arriving ahead of the 2016-17 season to anchor the defense, the Preds upset the Chicago Blackhawks, St. Louis Blues and Anaheim Ducks in consecutive Playoff series to reach the 2017 Stanley Cup Final. That streak had two distinctions: It was the first time a No. 8 seed knocked out a top seed (the Blackhawks) and the Predators became the first team in two decades to win 10 consecutive home Playoff games.

Facing the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Stanley Cup Final, the Preds lost the first two games before storming back to take Games 3 and 4. After a decisive Pittsburgh home victory, the Penguins prevailed 2-0 in Game 6, with both goals coming in the final two minutes.

Filip Forsberg, who re-signed with the team for eight seasons in July 2022, is the Predators’ second all-time leading scorer. Roman Josi, Pekka Rinne, Mike Fisher and Steve Sullivan have all won NHL awards, while Josi, Rinne and former captain Shea Weber have the distinction of being NHL First-Team All-Stars for the club. The Nashville Predators have made the Playoffs 16 times.

  • Uncomfortable

by Shem on 2/18/24Bridgestone Arena Nashville Predators - NashvilleRating: 3 out of 5

Got seats in 300 section, terribly uncomfortable air conditioning made it hard to stay in our seatings. Had to get up out of our seats frequently to stay warm.

  • An exciting time

by Farmhand on 2/18/24Bridgestone Arena Nashville Predators - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Was an exciting experience, the action if the hockey game is non stop almost and the arena was top notch. I don't think there is a bad seat in the house. Was actually there to root for the opposition but the home team fans was very nice and pleasant to speak with. The souvenir shop was second to none and the concessions were plentiful and didn't have to look around for anything. If they didn't sell it you didn't need it because they had everything you could think of and more.

  • Great granddaughter Hockey Experience.

by Ed on 2/17/24Bridgestone Arena Nashville Predators - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

The whole experience was outstanding with the ease of Ticketmaster and the Preds Organization.

  • Love hockey, hate this arena

by JLS on 2/13/24Bridgestone Arena Nashville Predators - NashvilleRating: 3 out of 5

Loved the hockey game especially the comeback! The Bridgestone arena is awful though especially if you have any disability or if you are larger at all. We couldn’t find or get help to any escalators or elevators. Yes I asked. Once on the 3rd level the seats were so small I have a bruise on my hip from the cup holder. Do better for this cost.

  • A Super-Fun Evening

by Blackhawks Fan on 2/13/24Bridgestone Arena Nashville Predators - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Live hockey is awesome, and Bridgestone is a great venue. The tickets a bought were exactly as advertised: great sight line. A wonderful experience.

  • Parking Garage was closed

by Val on 1/17/24Bridgestone Arena Nashville Predators - NashvilleRating: 4 out of 5

I purchased a ticket to park in the Pinnacle garage. The address for the garage was not included during ticket purchase, so I googled the address. When I arrived at the garage, the gate was closed. I saw another person turning around to back out too so it wasn’t just me that was affected. I wish I could get a refund for the parking garage ticket I bought as I had to pay for alternate parking.
