Nashville Predators History

The Predators joined the NHL in 1998 during a two-year expansion that saw the League add the Atlanta Thrashers, Columbus Blue Jackets and Minnesota Wild. The team made its first trip to the Playoffs during the 2003-04 season, and proceeded to make the postseason six of the next seven seasons. Nashville won its first Playoff series against the Anaheim Ducks in 2011, and returned to the second round again the following spring.

Two seasons later, with Peter Laviolette as Head Coach, Nashville began their four-year run as a Stanley Cup contender. With P.K. Subban arriving ahead of the 2016-17 season to anchor the defense, the Preds upset the Chicago Blackhawks, St. Louis Blues and Anaheim Ducks in consecutive Playoff series to reach the 2017 Stanley Cup Final. That streak had two distinctions: It was the first time a No. 8 seed knocked out a top seed (the Blackhawks) and the Predators became the first team in two decades to win 10 consecutive home Playoff games.

Facing the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Stanley Cup Final, the Preds lost the first two games before storming back to take Games 3 and 4. After a decisive Pittsburgh home victory, the Penguins prevailed 2-0 in Game 6, with both goals coming in the final two minutes.

Filip Forsberg, who re-signed with the team for eight seasons in July 2022, is the Predators all-time leading scorer. Roman Josi, Pekka Rinne, Mike Fisher and Steve Sullivan have all won NHL awards, while Josi, Rinne and former captain Shea Weber have the distinction of being NHL First-Team All-Stars for the club. The Nashville Predators have made the Playoffs 15 times in their 24 seasons.

    It was okay...

by nywku on 4/17/23Bridgestone Arena Nashville Predators - Nashville

Fan Appreciation night was really fun; I loved to go home with a free towel. However, up in the 3rd level it was SO LOUD! I think they could probably turn the volume down a little overall. Every time music was going or someone talking, my Apple Watch kept telling me it was 90+ decibels (and long-term exposure could cause temporary hearing loss.). I went to a hockey game, not a concert.

    First time in Smashville

by Bolts fan 772 on 4/17/23Bridgestone Arena Nashville Predators - Nashville

This arena is awesome. It’s in the heart of downtown Nashville, my friends and I came right out of Broadway’s finest honky tonks to this fine facility. Preds fans were streaming in to see the final game of the season, despite missing the playoffs they still cheered hard for their guys. Met nothing but nice folks in the rows around us, lots of first time visitors! The energy in the arena is contagious-we were all joining in the chants and the cheers before long. All in all, terrific experience!

    Exceptional ❤️

by Hooah Spouse on 4/4/23Bridgestone Arena Nashville Predators - Nashville

My husband and I had a date night. I picked hockey for the date. We have been to other hockey games, and this was our first in Nashville at the Predators’. We absolutely enjoyed ourselves at Bridgestone Arena! The facility itself is beautiful. The tickets we purchased on Ticketmaster were great seats; we could see the game! Overall, it was clean. The ushers and workers were courteous as well. It was so breathtaking to see how well this arena and this city cares for itself. The food was not bad; there were turkey burgers and hot dogs. I would have liked to see more selection in candy, like gummies or skittles. Thank you for a wonderful time! We hope to be back as a family next year.

Stadium and team a plus parking is a joke.

by Paul on 3/28/23Bridgestone Arena Nashville Predators - Nashville

They need to figure it out!!! Otherwise they will loose season ticket holders. Game started and stadium was barely full everyone was trying to find parking. So sad.

    Arena of the Decade

by Blake on 3/28/23Bridgestone Arena Nashville Predators - Nashville

Everything about Bridgestone is absolutely wonderful (besides the play of the Preds right now of course 😂😂). The game day experience is great! The crowd interactions and the in game entertainment is just top tier. And the facility as a whole is just 10/10. I’ve been to lots of professional sporting events and Bridgestone arena is easily top 3 stadium I’ve ever been in. All sports

    First time

by Dustin on 3/26/23Bridgestone Arena Nashville Predators - Nashville

Was my first time going to a hockey game. Everything went well till I got to my seat and it was to small to fit in. The staff was very helpful in finding me a seat.
