Nashville Predators History

The Predators joined the NHL in 1998 during a two-year expansion that saw the League add the Atlanta Thrashers, Columbus Blue Jackets and Minnesota Wild. The team made its first trip to the Playoffs during the 2003-04 season, and proceeded to make the postseason six of the next seven seasons. Nashville won its first Playoff series against the Anaheim Ducks in 2011, and returned to the second round again the following spring.

Two seasons later, with Peter Laviolette as Head Coach, Nashville began their four-year run as a Stanley Cup contender. With P.K. Subban arriving ahead of the 2016-17 season to anchor the defense, the Preds upset the Chicago Blackhawks, St. Louis Blues and Anaheim Ducks in consecutive Playoff series to reach the 2017 Stanley Cup Final. That streak had two distinctions: It was the first time a No. 8 seed knocked out a top seed (the Blackhawks) and the Predators became the first team in two decades to win 10 consecutive home Playoff games.

Facing the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Stanley Cup Final, the Preds lost the first two games before storming back to take Games 3 and 4. After a decisive Pittsburgh home victory, the Penguins prevailed 2-0 in Game 6, with both goals coming in the final two minutes.

Filip Forsberg, who re-signed with the team for eight seasons in July 2022, is the Predators’ second all-time leading scorer. Roman Josi, Pekka Rinne, Mike Fisher and Steve Sullivan have all won NHL awards, while Josi, Rinne and former captain Shea Weber have the distinction of being NHL First-Team All-Stars for the club. The Nashville Predators have made the Playoffs 16 times.

  • Need more direction about parking.

Bought the parking pass with the NHL tickets but there was no direction on what to do at the garage. There were QR scan codes at the parking spots and the sign was talking about how to pay. Nothing telling us what to do since we had already paid. After the event the parking garage gate was up so we left. No attendants entering or departing.

Game was great. Tickets are expensive relative to the cramped seating. If you're a tall person (6'3"+), your knees will be pushing up against the seat in front of you. Not comfortable at all. If you're tall, try to get in a row where there are not seats directly in front of you.

So I've been away from the Hockey area for a bit. But now that I'm moving forward with retirement. I found a Clarksville game last week that was absolutely awesome. On the glass front row. 101 A seat 4. Really nice. Plus it included the White Claw Lounge. All your food and drink included. What a great deal. Thank you so much

  • Great time. The Preds should play in Clarksville more often.

Took the family to a Preds game during the kids Spring Break week since we were not able to go out of town this time. We had a great time! It's always a great event when you go to watch the Preds play at Bridgestone! Food was awesome as always. The 2 team stores are always fun to walk through and browse. The game itself was fun as always. My wife and I even made it on the jumbotron... LOL! Great time in Nashville with the Preds!

For my own personal experience, I’m sure I would have had a better time if The Toronto Maple Leafs had won. I’m a die hard Leafs fan but Nashville is the closest NHL franchise to where I live for me to see them play. This was the fourth game my wife and I have seen in Nashville. We always have a good time but… whenever the Predators score, they play the most obnoxious song I’ve ever heard at any hockey game! Unfortunately for Toronto fans like me, the Predators scored quite a bit more towards the end of the game! When Nashville wasn’t scoring, the fans were quiet and enjoyed the game. When they did score, it was awful! The Bridgestone Arena is a very nice facility and the staff were friendly and helpful. After the game, win or lose, they close Broadway off to vehicles in Nashville and the night life is incredible!
