    Fabulous show!

by C. on 1/8/20Al Hirschfeld Theatre - New York

I did not really like the movie, as I didn't get it. The musical was, basically, the same story, as I recall. Maybe "being there," close to the action made the difference. The costumes, the sets, and, especially, the contemporary music - Lady Gaga, Adele, etc., were all fantastic and really added to the story. Loved it!

    Set, costumes, choreography!

by Ellasfan on 1/8/20Al Hirschfeld Theatre - New York

This show is all about entertainment. Starting with the lavish set which dramatically welcomes you into the theater. Cast members come on and off the stage before it begins. There are even two sword swollowers! The plot is thinly based on the famous story of the courtesan camille. But this musical is more spectacle than story. The actors, especially Aaron, are talented. Gorgeous costumes and more sets fill the show. As i said pure entertainment! A fun romp!

A+ Show but Worst Audience Behavior

by Broadway Babe on 1/8/20Al Hirschfeld Theatre - New York

I really wish I could give this a 5 star because the entire show was incredible. The most impressive cast, costumes, set, and dancing I've seen on Broadway in awhile. However, the entire first act was completely overshadowed by terrible audience behavior all around me. The family the row in front of me kept taking out their phones - I watched all four of them watch videos, send text messages, create animojis, etc. that completely distracted from the performance (thankfully they didn't repeat this behavior in the second act). The row behind me occasionally sang along and there was definitely some flash photography towards the beginning of the show. I realize that due to the nature of the pre-show, there isn't any real announcement about phone usage, flash photography, etc. but I thought the sheet of paper in the playbill didn't cut it this time.

    Just go!!!

by Alshin on 1/7/20Al Hirschfeld Theatre - New York

Yes, this is Juke Box musical, but it is Broadway at the best. Lavishing sets, costumes, amazing dancing and singing. There was never a dull moment! It was far more superior than the original movie. Tony for Karen Olivo!

    An Amazing Show!

by Emily Jo on 1/6/20Al Hirschfeld Theatre - New York

This show is Spectacular Spectacular! It sampled many of my favorite pop songs from the past four decades, and the lead actors were phenomenal. The set design and costumes were spot on, and the choreography was breathtaking. Go see this show!!

    Enjoyed

by d. on 1/4/20Al Hirschfeld Theatre - New York

Christian was amazing! He and Nini stole the show. Very energetic performance. Loved all of the songs and dancing. I was surprised (and enjoyed) the comedic moments. The theater is small making you feel a part of the performance. In retrospect I wish I had gotten balcony seats, I think the view might have been better. There was some scenery that was hard to view where I was sitting.

    Sensationally Gripping

by Dan on 1/4/20Al Hirschfeld Theatre - New York

We attended New Year’s Day 2020! From the moment you walk in to the theater you are taken to the Moulin Rouge. The set is just as amazing as the performance. A huge shout out to the orchestra, simply the best! From the “pre-show” dancer stretching & Actor reveals, to the their last moment on stage, Moulin Rouge is one of the best on Broadway! It’s the sexiest, most tastefully whimsical, hilarious, and touching love story ever told. It’s the familiar story line told through updated music and some of the best acting on Broadway, something that will bring us back! We were in the “can-can” seating (it’s a must try) area and would do front orchestra next time just to see if we missed anything, and then front mezzanine the next time, yes, it means we will see it three times, it is that spectacular! Bravo/Brava to the cast & crew. We wish Karen Olivo (Satine) the best as she was not in the second act. However, her understudy, Ashley Loren was absolutely amazing in the role. Lastly, Aaron Tveit never disappoints and this time was no exception, that said my favorite with him will always be NTN!

    Best show on Broadway

by Laurie on 1/3/20Al Hirschfeld Theatre - New York

Non stop, energetic performance: amazing set, fabulous music, scintillating choreography, perfect actor selection, poignant story line. The entire cast is stellar, making the two and one half hours fly by. Aaron Tveit as Christian and Karen Olivo as Satine were perfect and will make your heart swoon. On a personal note, back in 1983, Aaron's mother and I taught in the same school. We were both pregnant that year and as I sat in the audience with my 36 year old daughter, i thought how blessed we were to have the amazing children that we were given. Aaron and all the cast are beautifully talented. Go see it... you'll love it!

What I always dreamed a Broadway Musical would be like!

by Jennifer on 12/30/19Al Hirschfeld Theatre - New York

The set and the costumes are gorgeous. The dancing is awe-inspiring. The acting is far better than the movie. The entire musical is a celebration of the beauty and romance found in the lyrics of pop music. Aaron Tveit's voice is absolutely amazing! Karen Olivio's acting is brilliant! Her voice and her beauty are astounding. I have been to many shows on Broadway. This is the first time that I am desperate to return again and again.
