What is the Miami Open?

The Miami Open is a professional tennis tournament held annually in March in Miami, Florida that draws some of the top tennis talent on the men's and women's tours. Also known as the Miami Masters, it is an ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event on the men's tour and a Premier Mandatory event on the women's tour. The tennis event is held at Hard Rock Stadium where the NFL's Miami Dolphins play among other events. It was previously held at the Tennis Center at Crandon Park in Key Biscayne just off the coast of Miami.

The event moved to Hard Rock Stadium after over $500 million was spent in renovations, including a new tennis campus featuring 29 permanent tournament and practice courts as well as additional food and entertainment facilities. The 14,000-seat center court within Hard Rock Stadium is designed for intimacy, luxury and a comfortable fan experience. A state-of-the-art in-stadium shade canopy and the largest video board in tennis offers a luxury seating experience.

  • It's a great experience!

by Nicaff on 3/25/24Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

The Miami Open Tennis is more than watch games and players. It's a great experience! Said this because the environment around the events is superb and excited. The restaurants, bars and amenities are so good... it looks like Downtown Disney or Universal. Can't wait on next year!

  • Thoughts about PIF

by GR on 3/25/24Rating: 4 out of 5

I find it shocking anyone would even consider a Saudi company to buy the Miami Open when in their country they still don’t allow women to play sports? I think before trying to buy sports in the U.S. they should give women equality in their country.

  • Stadium not fit for tennis matches

by Rafafan on 3/25/24Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 3 out of 5

I had stadium tickets for two days and did not spend longer than 30 mins in there. This is not a suitable place for tennis matches. Up in the 300 seating area its too disconnected, no atmosphere, can't hear the ball strikes, can't see the players or the ball. The organisers need to sort this out, and consolidate the seating at lower levels. A ground pass was amazing

  • Great experience, improved venue layout needed

by KA on 3/25/24Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 3 out of 5

The Miami Open is an overall very good Masters tournament experience. The highlight was the food and drink vendor selection. Miami might have the best food and drink quality and selection I've ever seen at a sporting event, and especially at any Grand Slam or Masters Tournament. The Miami Open is a great spectator experience outside of the stadium court. The problem with Miami is the venue layout going to and from Hard Rock Stadium. There is a 90-degree turn through which spectators have to walk through two-12 foot openings in two gates. This small area contains all spectators entering the grounds and going to/from stadium. It's a terrible event egress pattern, and causes so much foot traffic. It's also a very long distance to/from stadium seating. Once you're seated, it's not worth leaving stadium to get to the outside courts or food vendors and back, it would be about a 30 minute round-trip. To solve this, multiple entrances or a central entrance, should be open to Hard Rock stadium. All other factors considered, the Miami Open could be the best Masters tournament for spectator experience. Unfortunately this venue flow and foot traffic issue makes Miami Open not ideal for spectators looking to enjoy both stadium matches and outside matches, or both stadium matches and outside food/drink vendors. It introduces a lot of stress and sacrifices for spectators who have to choose how to spend their time at Miami.

  • This is one of the nicest tennis tournament one can attend.

by Matt Tansi on 3/25/24Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

I always enjoy attending Miami Open Tennis Tournament. The setting could not be nicer. The format allows you to see all top players exciting matches. You can also go around to observe players training and matches real close up in the outer courts. This year we got rained out but ended up getting complementary tickets from Ticketmaster for another session which was a nice surprise. Please keep up the good work.

  • Needs improvment

by House of Pain on 3/25/24Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 2 out of 5

Need more walk-through lanes between the practice courts to get more people opportunities for closer contact with the athletes. One walk-through is not enough

  • I had to pay for the parking, twice

by RB on 3/25/24Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 3 out of 5

For the reschedule I had to pay again for parking. Anything else was perfect

  • Awesome Games

by CM loves tennis on 3/25/24Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

Great games. Things that need improvements: More outlets as we have cell phones. To many people not enough places to watch the games. The outside tennis courts need to have more places to accommodate the tennis lovers. The umpire chair blocks the view of the people. They need to have some transparent chair. We are in the era of plastic, aren’t we? The box office at the stadium needs to tech the workers to be more kind to us.

  • My first Miami Open

by Carlos on 3/25/24Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

My first time in the Miami Open was much better than I expected. Everything was great, the organization, the process to park, entry, the staff inside the court, the food. Definitely I am going to back again

  • The event was rained out and can I get money back

  • Miami Open Experience

by Bill J. on 3/25/24Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

The food was delicious! The map of the area was well planned! The matches were great! The stores were fun to shop! Always enjoyed my time at this event!

  • Not Impressed

by Dale on 3/25/24Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 3 out of 5

I don't like the temporary courts; basic information not provided and updates are slow in coming. I enjoyed the tennis that was not rained out, but the inclement weather policy is shameful - I lost $292! I will probably not return to the Miami Open.

  • Awful Organization in Miami Open 2024

by RamonC on 3/25/24Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 1 out of 5

The organization of the matches is very bad. Attractive matches on small fields And low matches in the best facilities.

The Miami open was an awesome event. I've gone in previous years but this year was extremely special. I ate at most of the restaurants all the food was excellent. The environment was awesome with so many fans cheering on different players also got a chance to see a variety of players playing this past week. I'm looking forward to going again next year!

  • Very good

  • A football arena isn't the best tennis venue

by Sarasota Seniors on 3/24/24Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 2 out of 5

Stadium seats in the 300 section are a long way from the court. Lot's of walking. Very little accommodation for seniors or disabled. Event staff is unknowlegable and not accommodating at all. The entire event is set up in a parking lot. Pass on the $10 lemonade in a paper cup.

  • Great Tennis, Terrible Food

by Smasher on 3/24/24Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 2 out of 5

The tennis was fantastic but a few things could use improvement. First, there aren't enough convenient bathrooms. You have to take a long hike to find one from many of the courts and the stadium (even in lower level seating). Second, the food options were terrible - Pizza, bare bones burgers (no fries or chips), and well that is about all they had. if you are going to charge two arms and two legs you should offer some decent food to eat and provide some level of service in the sit down eateries. We had lunch at Americal Social and the food options were limited with basically no service...burgers served with no condiments, no napkins, etc. have to ask for everything.
