What is the Miami Open?

The Miami Open is a professional tennis tournament held annually in March in Miami, Florida that draws some of the top tennis talent on the men's and women's tours. Also known as the Miami Masters, it is an ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event on the men's tour and a Premier Mandatory event on the women's tour. The tennis event is held at Hard Rock Stadium where the NFL's Miami Dolphins play among other events. It was previously held at the Tennis Center at Crandon Park in Key Biscayne just off the coast of Miami.

The event moved to Hard Rock Stadium after over $500 million was spent in renovations, including a new tennis campus featuring 29 permanent tournament and practice courts as well as additional food and entertainment facilities. The 14,000-seat center court within Hard Rock Stadium is designed for intimacy, luxury and a comfortable fan experience. A state-of-the-art in-stadium shade canopy and the largest video board in tennis offers a luxury seating experience.

  • Terrible

Terrible. Where we get the money for the tickets back, because we have not seen matches on friday, the 22th march

  • A day at Miami Open

by Lady D on 3/24/24Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 4 out of 5

Basically a good & fun day. But very crowded. Could not get in to watch 2 doubles matches that were played on a very small court. Very disappointing. Even tho it was doubles considering the star players, both matches should have been assigned to one of the big courts. otherwise a good event.

  • I have a great day.

Excellent event! Will definitely go back next year!

  • High food cost

by Alan T. on 3/23/24Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 4 out of 5

Not only is food expensive but prices not clearly shown.

  • Disastrous yellow parking for second session

by Juan on 3/23/24Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 3 out of 5

For the night session the yellow parking there are no qualified personnel to organize the overflow, shuttles were insufficient… rainy day yesterday and no one had good info. I really miss the Key Biscayne days…

Great venue great tennis. Food was not that good prices are high as for the beers 14.00 for 1 beer 16 oz. Seats on main court section 144 lvl 100 not a good view lower seats. They also need to put the good doubles match on bigger courts so more can enjoy over court 5.

  • Doubles and water

by TennisMomager on 3/23/24Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 4 out of 5

Overall, a great experience. Please move doubles for popular players to bigger venues! Lots of fans play doubles! So why such small stadiums for doubles? Also, water stations desperately needed. Super wasteful to have to buy $6 bottles of water multiple times a day. Only water was from a drinking fountain.

  • Overall good experience

by MiamiOpenRocks! on 3/23/24Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 4 out of 5

Great to know that organizers do read reviews and act accordingly to improve future events. 2023 MO was a hot mess before even entering the grounds with parking lots opening only after one filled up. This year much better with multiple lots open at a time. The main negative for 2024 was that that the seat I purchased had an obstructed view which was not indicated on website when purchasing. Organizers need to sit in the actual seats that may have obstructions and ensure that the website/ticketmaster indicates obstructed view. We wait all year for this event and pay good money to attend so there should not be surprises

  • The Miami Open is a great tournament!

by Jimbo on 2/12/24Rating: 5 out of 5

Lots of good tennis and great players. They do a great job of converting a football stadium into a tennis facility. My only disappointment is that Ticketmaster advertises and sells 72 Club tickets that will include a VIP parking pass. I have purchased 72 Club seats several years now and have yet to receive a parking pass.

  • If I could leave zero stars I would

by Lili on 9/7/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 1 out of 5

Purchased 2 front row seats one level above courtside at about $180 each to the Miami Open - pre purchase the map I looked at showed unobstructed views however when I got there a huge steel pole was in my way at exactly the height my view was.. The venue and Ticketmaster claim they did nothing wrong. What a complete joke.

  • Fantastic

by Julie Kemps on 5/3/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 4 out of 5

As a tennis player from Belgium traveling to Florida for an initial road trip and afterwards noticing that the Miami Open would take place at that same exact moment - was extraordinary. We enjoyed it very much and to finally witness a match was a dream come true. However, there were somethings I'd like to mention to improve the overall experience - as we are foreigners we did not know it was necessary to bring all of our stuff in a see-through bag so we had to put everything in a locker which was fine but this locker was opened by strangers after midnight (tournament day was not over yet) and all of our stuff was put on a big pile somewhere in the stadium - we had to collect our things afterwards whereas everyone could've touched our stuff or could've taken things out of our backpacks so this was definitely not okay with us - I already complained to the company who offers the lockers but they seem nog eager to change their policy. Next issue worth mentioning is the lack of seating within the Hard Rock Stadium - or at least what we thought was a lack of seating - we had a lot of rain delays during the evening session however, there were no seats where we could take cover from the rain so we just stood there for hours and no employee or anyone told us there was a place where we could sit and stay dry - the lack of information here was not acceptable as we were litteraly standing near plants to take cover from the rain. It was only after we were looking for the First Aid helpers that I noticed there was an entire place where you could sit to take cover. So overall, it was a wonderful experience and I enjoyed every bit of it but there are some issues that need some work.

  • Was great

by shd on 4/19/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

Very good tournament. Nice organisation, a little bit too hot, but what you can do at Florida with weather :D

  • Very nice

by Goku on 4/18/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 4 out of 5

Super atmosphere, partly for having gone with friends, with the luck of having seen a very good tennis match, very exciting and of the highest level. On the other hand, I had no idea of the distance from the parking lot, and even less that I should went back to guard my wife's handbag in the car. The seats I chose weren't the best but we had a good view of the court and both players. I think there is room to improve the spaces and location. The prices of drinks are skyrocketing, as is common in the stadiums of this country. In conclusion, a very nice experience that I will repeat, but buying the tickets with enough time to opt for a better place for a reasonable price.

  • Could be better organized

by Mirian on 4/12/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 3 out of 5

I was very unorganized to enter the stadium at night section. There was no line and people pushing. Downstairs/groundfloor was like that. But also, to enter at the area where section 110 was, it repeated again, but even worse. It was worse because there was a line, but people were cutting the line by pushing people who were in line. There was NOBODY, no chains, no grades to organize it. My father is 80 years old, and there were other eldery people who could have been hurt.

  • Underwhelming finals

by Edison E. Sepulveda on 4/11/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 3 out of 5

The event was very organized and the venue was excellent. The seats could have had more space though and no healthy options for food was an issue. The match was terrible as Medvedev dominated Sinner in the 2nd set without much of a challenge.

  • A better experience every year.

by Juanca on 4/10/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 4 out of 5

Everything works well. Could be better if you have the chance to pay the parking at the same time of the ticket event (having your place previously). Another: too much resale so the prices go up quickly.

  • Tennis seats were ok but parking was an assault

by GF on 4/10/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 2 out of 5

I paid for a full day parking and there was not a condition for not reentring. Place was far away and games were apart from each other. When I came back for the night game they charged me again $40 for parking. Parking was a good 25 minutes walk

  • Amazing

by Enrique on 4/5/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

First time going and I loved it. Never really watched tennis but ever since going, I am eager to go back next year. Hopefully, I will be able to experience the full-on experience

  • Not as good as past years

    by Mimi_L on 4/5/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 4 out of 5

I had a great time as I have for the past 20 years, however there are a few things I didn't like this year. The parking was too far away sometimes to not offer any sort of Tram. I went with senior citizens a few times this year and the parking was really far away, especially in the sun or rain. I also didn't like that the tickets could only be seen on the app and not printed out. Once again, I was dealing with seniors and if I didn't go, I had to download the app to their phone, and they had difficulty accessing the tickets from the phones at the entrance gate. I also felt that there was not enough places for shelter during the rain.

The environment is oustanding, also as the structure. Things that can be improved: 1) clear bag policy (why don’t use x-ray scans?). This policy made us to rent lockers. 2) distance from the center. And the most important thing: 3) the time set for final! It’s huge mistake to begin the final match at 1pm, where 70% of the fans, at least, were under the hotter sun. (I saw hundreds of people missing the game because it was impossible to be in their seats…)
