About

What is the Miami Open?

The Miami Open is a professional tennis tournament held annually in March in Miami, Florida that draws some of the top tennis talent on the men's and women's tours. Also known as the Miami Masters, it is an ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event on the men's tour and a Premier Mandatory event on the women's tour. The tennis event is held at Hard Rock Stadium where the NFL's Miami Dolphins play among other events. It was previously held at the Tennis Center at Crandon Park in Key Biscayne just off the coast of Miami.

The event moved to Hard Rock Stadium after over $500 million was spent in renovations, including a new tennis campus featuring 29 permanent tournament and practice courts as well as additional food and entertainment facilities. The 14,000-seat center court within Hard Rock Stadium is designed for intimacy, luxury and a comfortable fan experience. A state-of-the-art in-stadium shade canopy and the largest video board in tennis offers a luxury seating experience.

    Good venue, poor scheduling

by Dave on 3/24/19Hard Rock Stadium - Miami

Parking access and overall space at the venue much improved over Key Biscayne. However, disappointed that the scheduling hasn't improved ! All doubles matches scheduled for Court 4 cancelled. The one doubles match that everyone wanted to see (Zverev brothers) was scheduled on the smallest of courts with seating for very few. People queued for hours to try to get a seat, whereas large courts e.g. Court 1, had singles matches featuring lower level players for which there was little interest.

Miami Open Tennis @ Hard Rock Stadium

by Surferkevin57 on 3/24/19Hard Rock Stadium - Miami

The tennis village they created was awesome but seating to view the tennis action was limited on the outer courts. Hopefully next year they will add more seating on the outer courts or a lot of fans wont go back!

    Water fountains??

    by b. c. on 3/24/19Hard Rock Stadium - Miami

The overall experience was good. A lot of outer courts & practice courts to watch tennis. The main stadium was comfortable also. I didn't see any water fountains for drinking or refilling bottles, however. Visitors shouldn't be obligated to pay exorbitant prices for water if they want to drink.

    Geeat event, but need improvement

by Fernando on 3/24/19Hard Rock Stadium - Miami

As usual the Miami Open has a temendous atmosphere, but at that time the logistics needs improvement. The routes weren’t not signilized enough to help us to move thru the venue. All other items were good enough to give us a good time.

    So So

    by M. P. on 3/24/19Hard Rock Stadium - Miami

The event does NOT feel right. It is NOT dedicated to tennis...The main court is a mish mash of aluminum installation....they certainly tried their best though. The outside courts .... not enough seating. The grounds are beautiful with lots of food offer. Difficult to find shade.

    Miami Open Tennis Qualifiers

    by M. B. on 3/21/19Hard Rock Stadium - Miami

The Crew at the Hard Rock Stadium did a good job setting up all of the courts. Place has a nice look. Not hard to navigate. Plenty of rest rooms. The big board with the scores was mostly useful. A list of matches and courts was provided. It’s not as fan friendly as at Key Biscayne. When the players practice one can’t get close. And it would be simpler if the practice courts had one long stands as opposed to one for each court. The food was a problem. The Taco place shut down in the middle of lunch and two of the other places ran out of food so there were long lines at the other places. I think more small food places would be useful instead of the Champagne and beer stands. They were empty the entire time. All in all a nice day at tennis.

    Need official Uber/lift pickup

    by T. S. on 3/21/19Hard Rock Stadium - Miami

Need official Uber/lift pickup. Total caos, long lines, heavy traffic for a day with lots attendance. I honestly don't look forward to the rest of well getting in and out of there. Remember people Uber to these events so they can drink and not drive.

    So beautiful

by E.Ribeiro on 3/21/19Hard Rock Stadium - Miami

I was one of those who couldn't believe the MO was moving out of Key Biscayne. So I wasn't very thrilled about going to Hard Rock Stadium. But I went with some friends on the first day, March 18. Well, first, it's so convenient and close to Aventura, where I live. Second, the place is amazing: the practice courts with bleachers, the food court with the confy places to sit, the friendliness and kindness of the staff were some of the highlights. Also, the Ground Pass tickets at a very reasonable price are a very good idea. Oh! Forgot to mention that you park your car and just walk into the premisses. No more lines and waiting to board a bus to take you to your car! Love it! I am going back on the 24th and on 28th.

The best Masters in the US

by TennisFanTexas on 4/4/18Tennis Center at Crandon Park - Key Biscayne

The Miami Open at Crandon Park, Key Biscaine was the best Masters tournament in the Americas. Now it's moving to a new location, it won't be the same since it will take place on a football stadium (!!!), hopefully organizers can come up with great new features.

Fun tournament, looking forward to relocation

by Blakebridges on 4/3/18Tennis Center at Crandon Park - Key Biscayne

We loved the tournament, traffic was pretty bad and the police were the rudest people I have ever experienced but other than that it was fun. Looking forward to venue change.

    Could be so much better

by Vanessagps on 3/31/18Tennis Center at Crandon Park - Key Biscayne

The place is still beautiful and the matches are what they are, but the service got so much worse this year. No decent restaurant, just overpriced and bad junk food available. I was in indian wells two weeks before and it was so much better. And cheaper! Even the moet & chandon space was better and cheaper in indian wells.
