What is the Miami Open?
The Miami Open is a professional tennis tournament held annually in March in Miami, Florida that draws some of the top tennis talent on the men's and women's tours. Also known as the Miami Masters, it is an ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event on the men's tour and a Premier Mandatory event on the women's tour. The tennis event is held at Hard Rock Stadium where the NFL's Miami Dolphins play among other events. It was previously held at the Tennis Center at Crandon Park in Key Biscayne just off the coast of Miami.
The event moved to Hard Rock Stadium after over $500 million was spent in renovations, including a new tennis campus featuring 29 permanent tournament and practice courts as well as additional food and entertainment facilities. The 14,000-seat center court within Hard Rock Stadium is designed for intimacy, luxury and a comfortable fan experience. A state-of-the-art in-stadium shade canopy and the largest video board in tennis offers a luxury seating experience.
What a fun afternoon! Very well organized. First time experience at Hard Rock. Both staff and venue get a 10! Would definitely return next year.
Everything from parking, clean grounds and great tennis was totally awesome. Can’t wait until next year!
Every year gets better and better. Congratulations to the organization; keep up the good work
I loved everything about this tournament! Great organization! I felt safe and there was a variety of food! Would reccomend that next time they have some pasta dishes and also some texas style food.
The parking situation (Orange parking) needs to be vastly improved. Poor signage directing fans how to get to parking, long lines to enter the parking lot, parking ticket was visually checked but did not get scanned (aka, tickets could likely get shared to non-paying guests), and once inside the parking lot there was little to no direction as to where to find additional parking spots since most were already full. Egress also needs to be improved. At the end of the night, all guests are funneled through a small exit rather than using entry gates as exits.
Great venue, quite a few fun photo spots! Loads of food choices, several wine /drink spots! There was also food trucks inside for stadium seats. While inside stadium for evening quarterfinals, we were able to watch the players warmup with stretching etc, they were so close. The only negative I have is there were only 2 ladies bathrooms in the stadium, so the line was long and we missed the first 3 games in the mens 3rd set.
Very nice set up, however parking was a mess. It took an hour just to get into the lot and there was minimal parking. Even it was free it wasn’t worth it. Won’t be returning to the tournament.
So many positives except for: Food and drink outrageously expensive Clear bags for entrance and then no lockers inside grounds Could not retrieve items from locker and then return.
It is the best event that I go in my life!. You did the best work!
Nice place, it is not Crandon Park. The atmosfere is great. It must hace more products offers, in differents stands, from different sport brands.
Spent a day at the Miami Open, bought tickets for the day seesion and even though both games at the Stadium were super short (players retired) we were able to enjoy our day walking around the grounds enjoying food (tacos) and drinks (Ace Paloma), did some shopping and were fortunate to receive free tickets for the night session ! Overall a great day!
Great tennis. Only sit inside stadium in the non football seats; otherwise, upper level football permanent section (300’s) is too far removed from court and players. If you go early rounds walk to outside courts too and have a close up view of the tennis.
Overall the event is well organized once you are inside. As far as the parking staff and organization, it has a lot of opportunity to improve. Traffic is not well controlled for what it can cause many accidents. It’s very difficult to enter the parking premises and the whole process to park is very disorganized. Also, the services for a senior and/or handicapped are not the best because of how much they have to walk because of the construction going on for future events.
Your service charge is excessive, ticket master! The venue is very fine! Prepaid for parking space, but joined the line into the lot. Paid for a seat, bit could sit about anywhere, especially looking for shade. The ground events were limited with no give aways. Food was good! Loved the tennis!
We spent 5 days At the tennis. We bought the 3 day package, An extra day on the Tuesday and then took a punt and went in the Thursday after we landed. Arrived around midday. our experience was fantastic. The food offerings were brilliant and every staff member we met was so wonderful. The lay out was really easy to find your way around, and the tennis we saw really was spectacular.
Ticketmaster recommended purchasing pre-paid parking so I did and was charged twice (2x $25 dollar passes) for parking (wasn't sure the reasoning behind this, only needed one). Both parking passes were designated at ORANGE1 location, however when we arrived at around 10:30 AM this area was completely full w/ no one or signage to direct us on where to go, we just followed the traffic - it was a mess. Took us another hour to find parking which ended up being in the farthest corner of the venue, ORANGE14 I believe and then another 30 minute walk to the crosswalk into tournament. Spent another 30 - 45 minutes waiting on wife while in line to have here small picket purse checked in for $10 (come on, really?). We finally got in to the tournament and to our seats about 12:30 PM just enough time to see the Murray vs. Mededev match.
The new stadium tries really hard but its just not as nice. Parking was OK, at least you dont have to take a bus to get to the stadium. Lots of food and beverage options and no lines. If you are in the temporary stadium seats its a long walk to the rest rooms. Next year I will be sure to get tickets on the shade side, the sun is hot and there is no breeze in the enclosed stadium
Overall very satisfied with current system , holding tkts on iphone
I had been a regular at the Open for over 20 years when held on Key Biscayne. I had not attended since the move to Hard Rock stadium. I must say the venue was set up nicely. Easy to park. Room to move. Lots of food options and overall good seating. The stadium access and seating could be improved. Signage on grounds could be larger and more if it as far as locations and directions. But overall better than expected. The tennis quality was lacking star power but not the fault of the Open.
I paid for a night session ticket. When i walked to the grandslam, there was no available seats because people from the day session were still sitting there. I wasn't able to watch Tsitsipas vs Carlos, and thats the match i was looking forward to.
