What is the Miami Open?

The Miami Open is a professional tennis tournament held annually in March in Miami, Florida that draws some of the top tennis talent on the men's and women's tours. Also known as the Miami Masters, it is an ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event on the men's tour and a Premier Mandatory event on the women's tour. The tennis event is held at Hard Rock Stadium where the NFL's Miami Dolphins play among other events. It was previously held at the Tennis Center at Crandon Park in Key Biscayne just off the coast of Miami.

The event moved to Hard Rock Stadium after over $500 million was spent in renovations, including a new tennis campus featuring 29 permanent tournament and practice courts as well as additional food and entertainment facilities. The 14,000-seat center court within Hard Rock Stadium is designed for intimacy, luxury and a comfortable fan experience. A state-of-the-art in-stadium shade canopy and the largest video board in tennis offers a luxury seating experience.

  • Miami open Alcaraz and Miami won in tennis

by Mario on 4/6/22Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

Great tennis all week Medvedev played all his sets despite being injured what grit The women were fabulous as well Seats are good but the umpire should sit on a tower less or stairless chair it obstructs the view too much Electronics is best but maybe the red light that impure sees can be displayed in the court as well We should ask politely very tall people to sit in the sides

  • Loved It!

by Robbie G. on 4/6/22Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

This was the first tennis match I had ever been to, and the first time I had been to Hard Rock Stadium. Neither disappointed. The match was great, as was the venue. Very nice and accommodating staff at Hard Rock, and the food and beverage options were great.

  • Bad uncomfortable stadium. Miami open deserves better.

by Toni on 4/6/22Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 2 out of 5

Shadow section has obstructed views. Middle section extremely expensive. Sunny section forget it. Overwhelming hot due to aluminum assembled stands. Behind player stands only half at shade. I tried them all. Bad. Miami deserves better. How nice it was at Biscayne.

  • Issues with transfer and parking date.

by Melanie on 4/6/22Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 4 out of 5

I bought my parking ticket with the final March tickets and the date on the parking ticket said April 2 instead of April 3. I couldn’t use the parking ticket and had to pay the same day $40. Didn’t now where to address that issue. I also bought tickets for a friend and couldn’t transfer them, I had to meet her and enter with her. Overall a nice experience. Obviously it was a bummer too tennis player weren’t able to play but I was really happy to watch Alcaraz in the final, definitely a player with a bright future. Reminds me when I saw Rafa and Djoko for the first time in a Miami final way back.

  • Event is too far from the City and from Miami Beach.

by Marcelo Santos on 4/6/22Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 3 out of 5

Excelente Organization, but the event is too far from the City and from Miami Beach.

  • Awesome day of tennis!

by Dntwalsh on 4/5/22Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

Beautiful grounds, so many food choices in food court, and loved the free hat! Wish there were more shops with more merchandise. The line to pay at the one store was insane.

  • Excellent!!

by Pineda on 4/5/22Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

I really enjoyed the event, the parking was organized, I didn’t spend to much time in that and inside the stadium everything was excellent! I’m going back next year without a doubt

  • Great Tennis! But parking and seats should be improved!

by lynn on 4/5/22Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 4 out of 5

Frist time at the Hard Rock for tennis after years of attending at Biscayne. Tennis and attractions/food was great but the parking was not clear at all. I went Friday and Saturday and both were confusing as I bought parking in advance for Sat but not Friday and was not explained well. Pretty Hot on Saturday so fans would have been nice sitting in the sun. Also we stayed for doubles matches and it is so sad to see so many empty seats below and having people have to sit higher. Not good for TV and for the players. Friday night we attempted to sit lower down (not in the cushy seats) and were escorted out. Sat they made an announcement at the start of the match to move down but by that time people were already sitting. That should be looked at. Seats should be filled down below for the players and for the TV audience. Did not think it looked good to see so many empty seats. Overall though, James Blake it was a great time!

  • Miami Open

by Jeff on 4/5/22Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

Great event, very nice staff and employees. Very helpful. Parking and finding my Uber were serious issues that needs to be addressed for the future. The food in the stadium is no more than 0 stars, besides being astronomically priced. Those areas need urgent attention.

  • HOT HOT HOT

by SAF on 4/5/22Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

The event was amazing! I love this location. Much better then keep asking where the traffic is horrific! All of the food options and entertainment options were so fun. I was very lucky to get seats in the shade I felt bad for the people who were sitting in the sun to watch the tournament. It was hot hot hot

  • Fun fun fun!!!!

by Mecibula on 4/5/22Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

We really enjoyed the Miami tennis open. The event is run extremely well. The atmosphere, food, drinks, activities and of course tennis matches. Slightly disappointed with some last minute injury cancellation but overall a wonderful time!

  • Best tennis tournament

by Elodie on 4/5/22Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

The Miami open is by far the best tennis event. The venue is amazing and it is so well organized. I went 2 days and they give you a hat at the entrance, some cold wet towel for the heat and even some little fan to ventilate yourself. Plus it’s easy to meet with the players. Amazing weekend

  • it was a terrible experience, a nightmare!! zero star

by Xavier on 4/5/22Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 1 out of 5

parking lot far away of stadium, no personnel to get orientation, every stuff and food super expensive, needed refreshment station because super hot days, so I missed a lot the installations at the Crandon park. I never go back to Hard Rock Stadium for the next Miami Open events

  • Poor organization

by CJ on 4/5/22Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 3 out of 5

Poor or absent signage to rideshare pickup and drop, and in fact tournament web site listed wrong gate for pickup location. We were yelled at for being at the wrong drop-off site which we used the day before. Not enough staff helping at pickup/drop off site. Tournament should have more drink and beverage service closer to seating rather than just at football locations which are far away.

  • Awesome!

by Breezee on 4/5/22Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

Hats off to Ticketmaster and the Miami Open for running top notch programs! Having never used Tickemaster before, or never attending a major tennis tournament, I was very grateful for the multiple emails and easy to follow instructions for downloading apps, tickets, maps, etc. Even getting an email asking for feedback is much appreciated! Because of their efforts, my husband and I had a wonderful experience. EVERYONE that worked the event was super friendly and very helpful, from the parking attendants, to the entrances, and especially the ladies in the stands helping us find out seats. They smiled the entire match and seemed genuinely happy to be there. The was my husband's first time to Miami. Thank you for helping make it a fantastic experience!

  • Terrible logistics

by Bruno gomez on 4/5/22Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 2 out of 5

Its far and lots of traffic Parking is 1 mile away and the stadium is not good for tennis

  • Not a total “Love” affair!

by Annie on 4/4/22Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 3 out of 5

Overall the experience was fun secondary to the fabulous matches and friendly environment. I’m a bit partial to the Key Biscayne location because of its quaintness but not as easily accessible. I am also a fan of the Cincinnati open, Delray and US Open…so … here it goes… Pros: ease in access off interstate ( arrived from orlando ). Great location for parking with paid parking ticket as well as Uber pick up and drop off. Friendly staff throughout. Impressed with drinking/ eating area (kiki terrace). Cons: only noted 2 tennis shops , no small vendors throughout. Minimal interactive areas as well. I was at event for final 3 days so it’s possible that there was more to do and see early on but why would they leave for final weekend event? Did not see big screen viewing in central area when you were experiencing food/ beverage. Only saw a few tv’s at food court in arena. Would love to have seen the awards ceremonies on big screen ! Cleanliness… food court area floor had spilled water , ice cream where a person actually fell hard on floor secondary to spilled food. Unable to find assistance to clean it up, many of us placed chairs( hard to find) to cover area to prevent further accidents. Understandably this venue is new and will return but looking forward to a few changes!
