What is the Miami Open?

The Miami Open is a professional tennis tournament held annually in March in Miami, Florida that draws some of the top tennis talent on the men's and women's tours. Also known as the Miami Masters, it is an ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event on the men's tour and a Premier Mandatory event on the women's tour. The tennis event is held at Hard Rock Stadium where the NFL's Miami Dolphins play among other events. It was previously held at the Tennis Center at Crandon Park in Key Biscayne just off the coast of Miami.

The event moved to Hard Rock Stadium after over $500 million was spent in renovations, including a new tennis campus featuring 29 permanent tournament and practice courts as well as additional food and entertainment facilities. The 14,000-seat center court within Hard Rock Stadium is designed for intimacy, luxury and a comfortable fan experience. A state-of-the-art in-stadium shade canopy and the largest video board in tennis offers a luxury seating experience.

  • Everything was great but the parking

by Luca on 3/25/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 4 out of 5

The event is well organized and I won't spend much time about it. I'd love more selection of healthy food, but wasn't too bad. The bad part was the parking. I went there 3 days and it was painful everyday. The last 2 days a nightmare. Only one gate open, even if was full for miles. Just open the other gates... also once parked far away you still have to go back and cross the bridge, all the other entrances were closed. Parking crew totally useless and confused with conflicting instructions. Please put some brain on parking for the next year.

  • Miami Open Week 1

by Stauf on 3/25/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

The Tennis, the Amenities, the Shopping, and the Food was excellent. The Parking was ABSOLUTELY ATTROTIOUS! I can’t even imagine a more poorly planned scenario! It makes staying home and watching it on TV more attractive!

  • My last time to go there after going for the last 15 years

by Clay H on 3/25/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 1 out of 5

Right from looking for the parking orange lot, then waiting forever to get to a parking spot and then walking a half hour to the stadium. It was just a very terrible set up. The tennis was very good. But just the stadium doesn’t seem like a tennis court set up to me either.

  • Parking was very expensive and you had a walk a half hour fr

This was my last time that I will go there due to all the negatives. Now I guess especially the Stadium Pinchers is in the tennis stadium. It’s kind of ridiculous.

  • Great event with lots of matches to watch and things to do.

by Abby on 3/25/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

Miami Open has everything. Tennis fans can watch their favorite players compete at the highest level. Practice courts are also a fun way to see players up close and even get a picture or a signed ball.

  • MO 2023

by PJH on 3/25/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 4 out of 5

Parking bit of a hassle but ok considering amount of people entering around 10am Campus clean. Great food and drink options. Plenty of seating and places out of the sun. Probably could use more restrooms. Enjoyable, will return.

  • Parking nightmare

by Alan T. on 3/25/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 1 out of 5

Arrived at the venue and took 1 hour to park even with prepaid parking. Every year it happens. You would think that they could fix it by now.

  • Great event

by TJW on 3/25/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

The vibe was very intimate- big enough to get all of the top stars, but small enough for good fan interaction. Tickets to the stadium were well priced and the seating was great.

  • Wonderful time!

    by M. J. on 3/25/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

I suprised my daughter with a trip to the Miami Open for Spring Break. The venue was great and the staff was so nice & accomodating. The only thing I will say is what were you buy your seats at the Stadium because the sun is beaming hot and can make your time during the game can be very uncomfortable.

  • Miami Open Tennis

by Don on 3/24/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

Easy to get around to courts. of course, lots of great matches, even the qualies. I was there the first 3 days, so seats at all courts were great, I had general admission - ground pass. Tough to get autographs. Parking - I used Orange lot - you can't get in before 10am. If early, use gate 18 - the main Orange entrance. You will be guided to parking space. If carrying anything, you need to use a clear bag, not bigger than 12x12x6. Bring an empty plastic bottle and fill at Grandstand water fountains. Don't forget SUNSCREEN. Maybe wear a long sleeve light white shirt if you get sunburn easily. Overall, a great experience. Got to meet Jelena Ostipenco, pic with her and autograph, at meet & greet. Go try it!

  • We need more sun protection please

    by M. P. on 3/24/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 4 out of 5

Hello, Experience would have been great if there were more sun shades around. Canopies in the courts in the seating areas is necessary. It was great that it was during our schools’ spring break!

  • Miami Open 2023

by Kim on 3/24/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 4 out of 5

Wonderful event. I would come back again. I personally like Key Biscayne better because it was more intimate but understand why the venue had to move. A few comments: parking is ridiculous for folks using the orange lot: it opens one hour before the event and has hundreds of cars trying to get in ONE entrance. At the entrance gate to the venue security made me throw away my spray sunscreen (really in the Miami sun) saying the spray would disturb other guests. HOWEVER the venue was selling spray sunscreen for $20 a bottle. These two things clearly need to be addressed. Again great event, saw a lot of players on the practice courts and playing, food from vendors were good. Wish they had water stations like Indian Wells.

  • Not a great venue

by Bored on 3/24/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 2 out of 5

So many practice courts that could not be seen by public. What’s up with that? A whole row of practice courts covered by screens with no access to view players practicing. No place to fill a water bottle - which was ridiculous. Having to pay $5 every time you wanted some water. Doubt I’ll be back.

  • Great Experience

by SS on 3/23/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

Saw many professional tennis players, a great atmosphere, and a lot to do. I was iffy about it at first, but I 10/10 recommend it.

  • People lessen the Experience

by Enough on 9/25/22Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 4 out of 5

Paying for a seat which others feel it be long to them. Went to get food come back others in your seat. They felt sense there was one seat I was good. Usher not pleasant. This was my first match I ever attended. I guess people felt I did not belong but I did weather the ticket was given or I paid for it myself. In this case I paid. Game was great. People experience not so great. 🤕🤨😐🙃🥵🥺

  • 40-0 - Game, Set & Match to Problems

by The Jazz Chef on 4/8/22Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 3 out of 5

The Miami Open is full of good intentions. Their food court, near the main stadium? Nifty. Getting food inside the stadium, especially in the “cheap” seats? Pretty terrible. It would be better to move/duplicate some of the food services for the levels so people can grab food and watch the match in the main stadium without having to resort to a pizza that is less appetizing than the box that it comes in. Hard Rock stadium’s overly-narrow seating is more of a FAULT! because it’s hard to get up and around people without disturbing the tennis-obsessed. Parking is poorly directed, and laid out. Where are the Sheriffs who do a far better job of moving vehicles? It took nearly 45 minutes just to get into parking. Getting into the event, from the parking lots, if you’re ambulatory? A haul, but doable. If you’re not able to walk well, or at all? Add another 20-30 minutes to get to your seats. Other events at Hard Rock are not so messed up. They need a much better plan for people needing assistance. The matches themselves were awesome. You can see pretty well, even higher up. Still, the event is more than that, and there, Miami Open has a lot of work to do to improve, IMHO.

Well organized. Staffs well trained. Location for shopping was perfect. Standing in line to buy something was very easy. Personal was very friendly. Next year I will come back. Complete satisfaction.
