What is the Miami Open?

The Miami Open is a professional tennis tournament held annually in March in Miami, Florida that draws some of the top tennis talent on the men's and women's tours. Also known as the Miami Masters, it is an ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event on the men's tour and a Premier Mandatory event on the women's tour. The tennis event is held at Hard Rock Stadium where the NFL's Miami Dolphins play among other events. It was previously held at the Tennis Center at Crandon Park in Key Biscayne just off the coast of Miami.

The event moved to Hard Rock Stadium after over $500 million was spent in renovations, including a new tennis campus featuring 29 permanent tournament and practice courts as well as additional food and entertainment facilities. The 14,000-seat center court within Hard Rock Stadium is designed for intimacy, luxury and a comfortable fan experience. A state-of-the-art in-stadium shade canopy and the largest video board in tennis offers a luxury seating experience.

  • Big Tennis Fan!

    by K. P. on 3/28/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 4 out of 5

We loved watching all the tennis! We had a great time, however, the parking was terrible. They need to open the lots earlier( by 9:00 am at least) and run it more efficiently. It was a mess!! Also, the fast food choices need to be better and healthier. The burgers and fries were awful! Lastly, please get better nonalcoholic drink choices other than soda and lemonade. Ice tea is a great drink. We missed seeing Djokovic. He should have been allowed to play.

  • Awesome except for Parking

by Ericpsu on 3/28/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 4 out of 5

It’s a great venue with fantastic tennis. Food anyone expected is pricy but tons of options. Parking was a major issue. Traffic not effectively controlled, very limited entry points, pretty much a disaster. Only reason for 4 stars and not 5

  • Worst every year

by JFernandez on 3/28/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 1 out of 5

I have been going to the Miami Open tournament since it was called Sony Ericson and despite some changes of venues and sponsors it has always been a good experience, until this year. The prices of tickets, parking ($40), meals, water, merchandise seem to have triple in cost, the venue look "dirty" and disorganized, they removed the water points so you would have to buy another $5.00 bottle and they would not allow you to bring your own metal bottle. This year was my last attendance to this event!

  • Fun event but needs improvement

by Laura on 3/28/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 3 out of 5

    1) Miami Open App is terrible- needs to be completely reworked- not easy to navigate and looks way to busy- they need to have their app designers look at the USOpen app as an example of an app that works. 2) parking at the event was a disorganized mess. It took us 45 min to get into a parking lot. That is time that was taken away from watching the matches. 3) they need better sit down dining options where you can have lunch or dinner without thumping techno music blasting at high volume and they need to have better wine options. Many tennis fans are older discerning wine and food people. Have your fun, hip club atmosphere, but provide a few better options for those who like a calmer experience.

  • Miami Open

by Gina on 3/28/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 1 out of 5

This event was one of the most poorly run tennis events I have ever attended. First off, the parking was completely full when we arrived (with poor signage to find the lot to begin with). We had prepaid our parking and was told to drive 10 more blocks down and ‘’maybe” we would find another lot. Secondly, the signage within the venue was terrible. Where to enter the stadium, which way to the outer courts and the labeling do the courts. Very difficult to get around and the map was of no use. But the worse part of the venue was stadium court. We had seats in section 144 and 148 and both sections had obstructions and were not inclined enough to be able to fully see the court over the other guests. In addition, because it’s a makeshift stadium within the football venue, the atmosphere was awful. Even with an almost full stadium, the cheering and applause was drowned out. It is very unfortunate and we will not be attending this event again unless it is completely revamped.

  • Room for improvement

by DK on 3/28/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 3 out of 5

The tennis was amazing, of course. The parking situation is ridiculous. I had reserved parking ahead of time (at $30 a pop from Ticketmaster, expecting to have a spot) and both times I went it was a 45 minute to an hour gridlock to get in/no parking available. Then once you park, the walk through construction for formula one is ridiculous and hideous. The food was adequate. The lines for the bars were very disorganized (Dobel in particular) and took way too long (30 mins for one drink on the weekend). It’s unacceptable to miss an entire set of tennis trying to get one tiny overpriced drink. Grounds were nice for the most part. I did encounter several employees at the grandstand who spoke no English and had no idea how to answer simple questions, for example about which entrances were general admission. I want to keep enjoying this tournament, but there is a lot of room for improvement in terms of how it is run

by Tami on 3/28/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 1 out of 5

Very expensive, food was all fried and fattening, price for simple parfait $18, no salad or good fruit options, just a ripoff

  • Amazing Event!

by Indy Tennis Fan on 3/28/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

I am a huge tennis fan and have been wanting to attend the Miami Open for several years. I had a wonderful time and definitely plan to go back next year. The stadium is a great tennis venue and the campus is an amazing area for the visitors to watch a lot of additional matches and experience great food and shopping. Wouldn’t change a thing.

  • Great tennis venue, room for improvement

by Tucks on 3/28/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 3 out of 5

Hard Rock Stadium provides a great setting for this tournament, but the food choices were limited and poor quality for very expensive prices. And not enough toilets outside of the main stadium with especially long lines coming out the gents restroom.

  • Fun but need to pay too much money to see stars

by Nick on 3/28/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 3 out of 5

I had a good time because I don't really follow tennis but it's ridiculous you have to pay hundreds of dollars on top of the grounds passes to see the best tennis players. It's clear I'm not the only one that thinks it's ridiculous as watching it on tv you can see there's like 12 fans in the entire stadium. Wouldn't it be more beneficial for the fans and tennis to allow everyone in the stadium and actually fill the seats

  • Boring

by Ray on 3/28/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 1 out of 5

    Very basic over crowded!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Bad start

by claude on 3/28/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 3 out of 5

The parking was a real mess. L'entrance was very long, but one time inside, it's was a good journey. The took 90 minutes to go inside, between the street and sit to me place.

  • Best tennis tournament

by Elodie on 3/28/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

This is the best tennis tournament!!! The venue is amazing you’re so close to the players and it is well organized. I’ve been going for several years now but it’s getting better every year. Can’t wait for next year. The only downside is the parking. We went 3 days and every time we had to wait more than 30 minutes in line to be able to get into the parking lot

  • Perfectly organized

by Sylvia on 3/27/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

We loved our experience. Aside from the many great matches we got to see, the venue is really well organized with many choices of food offered (of really good quality for this type of event) and lots of seating options to get a break from the sun. Will definitely go back next year!

  • Getting there left a bad taste in mouth for whole tournament

by KA on 3/27/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 3 out of 5

Once inside stadium it was okay. Traffic, parking and walking to stadium was a nightmare. I will not be going back. Way too stressful! I think Key Biscayne venue blew doors in the Hard Rock Stadium! Nice grounds, good restaurants, lots of shops.

  • First and last

by Steve on 3/27/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 2 out of 5

The tournament was ok as far as tennis. Parking was horrible. After paying $30 to park we had to walk more than 20 minutes into the venue. Then hike back out to dark parking lots. Signage was poor. No shuttles at all. I have no idea how people with mobility issues got to the venue. Traffic going both directions in the same lanes in and out of the parking lot. Concessions were priced high, as expected, however too much food was made too soon and it sat too long. Food that was supposed to be hot was cold and stale. As though it was made the day before. The only salad that could be found was $17 and there was no protein. Just iceberg lettuce, croutons and dressing. And, the final caution is the workers at the Editor’s Pizza location outside of the grandstand take your credit card and entered their own tip. When challenged I was told it was “included”.

  • Miami Open

by JJ on 3/27/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 4 out of 5

Great venue and amazing matches. Other than parking and concessions being very expensive, they had Coco & Jessica’s doubles match on a court with very little seating so most people were not able to watch. Should have been on a much larger court
