What is the Miami Open?

The Miami Open is a professional tennis tournament held annually in March in Miami, Florida that draws some of the top tennis talent on the men's and women's tours. Also known as the Miami Masters, it is an ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event on the men's tour and a Premier Mandatory event on the women's tour. The tennis event is held at Hard Rock Stadium where the NFL's Miami Dolphins play among other events. It was previously held at the Tennis Center at Crandon Park in Key Biscayne just off the coast of Miami.

The event moved to Hard Rock Stadium after over $500 million was spent in renovations, including a new tennis campus featuring 29 permanent tournament and practice courts as well as additional food and entertainment facilities. The 14,000-seat center court within Hard Rock Stadium is designed for intimacy, luxury and a comfortable fan experience. A state-of-the-art in-stadium shade canopy and the largest video board in tennis offers a luxury seating experience.

  • Amazing experience!

by Poncho De Anda on 4/3/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

I believe this type of events are all about the experience that you can have. I bought the tickets because I wanted my kids to live that special event, and at the end my son told me that it had been one of the best experiences for him in his life. For me that is enough to say that I am very happy!

  • Just bad

by Nah thanks on 4/3/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 2 out of 5

If you're hoping to catch a glimpse of your favorite players, good luck! During the evening session, I was only able to attend one match as the stadium players were divided and sent to the grandstand to play at the same time. It would have been better if they had started one of the matches when the first one was nearing its end. As for the day session, it's scorching hot, so forget about it. And let's not even get started on how everything is overpriced.

  • An OK experience

by KAZ on 4/3/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 2 out of 5

This event did not live to all the hype. The stadium is not prepared to be an indoor court for an event in Miami in April. Thus, every time it rained, the game had to be stopped. For instance, the women's semifinals on Thursday were so poorly attended because everyone left after it started raining. The other area of service that was disappointing was the quality of the food. Miami is a fantastic city and a culinary destination. This was not reflected by the quality of food being served throughout the stadium and the vendors located in the plazas. I was disappointed by the referee's crowd control. People were not respectful of the players and the game. I was siting in section 148 and the people around me were extremely loud talking on their phones or talking while the game was going on. The one highlight for me was the kindness of the staff. Everyone was very kind and helpful.

  • A mess

by Tommy on 4/3/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 2 out of 5

Started with parking, we purchased a parking pass; it was hell getting to the lots and finding a spot, understaffed and chaotic Made my wife leave her little purse in a locker we had to pay for and then inside we saw numerous people with huge bags and backpacks The entrance to the section of the stadium where are sits were was chaotic as well, no one organizing the line and just people pushing each other to try to get to their sits Really bad organization

  • It was good

  • Bad experience

by Verónica on 4/2/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 1 out of 5

We bought tickets in a good Section, we went to the event, it rained, the stadium had no roof, we waited for two hours, finally the matches were cancelled, they moved the matches for the next night but, the tickets were changed for a different and definitively worse location, there was no reimbursement for the difference either. Also, we had to travel the next day so we were unable to assist, and we could not ask for reimbursement and could not either sell the tickets, they did not offered any of those options, and still if we could have been able to assist it was not fair at all that the tickets were given for a different location that the one we paid for... We paid for section 108 and received tickets for section 347!!! We were sincerely disappointed.

  • Best SEFL Event

by SQUAREBOMB on 4/2/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

While I feel bad for the people who missed out on 3/29 because of the rain, I’m also glad at the same time because we got to watch the men’s and women’s champion win against their quarterfinals rivalries in the Hard Rock Stadium. Always a pleasure to watch Medvedev play. His match against Eubanks was very enjoyable. We all wanted to see how Eubanks fair against him. Both did great. We also enjoyed the Kvitova vs Alexandrova match. Good to see Kvitova back in good shape after contemplating retirement recently. Hope this is enough to convince her to stay. Seats were great. Saved a little bit of money by purchasing our tickets from an authorized reseller on Ticketmaster. The whole process was seamless. Can’t wait for next year.

  • One full day of rains could not see a single match

by Rafael on 4/2/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 1 out of 5

Tuesday 28 had the evening session. It only rained and rained and nobody told us anything about when matches were going to resume. I payed for nothing since I left at around 11 pm seeing no tennis.

  • The Sun

by MZ on 4/2/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 4 out of 5

The stadium is good but one side, where the sun attacks is difficult to support. Scheddule these games for 1:00pm here in Miami is not a good idea. Can’t imagine how the players feel down there …..

  • My experience was generally good.

by Chonga on 4/2/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 4 out of 5

The only improvements Ticketmaster could make would be to show the view obstructions in the form of high railings which were in front of some seats and not others in certain rows and sections. Another improvement would be to indicate which sections of this stadium are in the sun all or part of the time.

  • disappointment, incorrect to the public to sell more seats

by Andrea Elias on 4/2/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 2 out of 5

This is my fifth time at the miami open and I had a bad experience when the session 18 game was cancelled. first moved to 19 and then to 20! the big surprise was that they donwgraded all the seats! a lack of respect for the public! I bought 108 and they put me in 344 seat 28….. unbelievable! and then they use the rules of the rain to justify themselves! this attitude was very wrong because there were places avaiable in the seccion that I was (100) to sell. disappointment!!!!!

  • Not there quite yet!

by Dimitri on 4/2/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 3 out of 5

Pretty disorganized, the entrance to the stadium had 4 different ticket checks, with each having a major back up. They funneled everyone through just one entrance and the ticket takers were slow, there were no signs that you needed the tickets yet again, just really an idiotic process. Also, the food selection AND the quality of it was subpar. Let’s just say, based on the freshness of the burger and fries, I think getting sushi would guarantee a trip to the hospital. The good aspect was, the actual matches, absolutely fantastic!!

  • Disappointing

by Nikos on 4/2/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 1 out of 5

The match was canceled due to rain with no refund and no willingness for a Fair exchange or offer of new tickets. Another day the parking was a disaster and the overall organization was disappointing and the overall day and environment was disappointing as well.

  • Great tournament !

by Lud on 4/2/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

Only fix I can think of would be to figure out a better way to get the players on and off Center Court. Blocking seating access to Sect A-E does not help at all !!

  • My first Miami Open

by Marcelo on 4/2/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 4 out of 5

I loved the Miami Open 2023. I was at QF and at semi final. I saw amazing matches. The structure is very good, the access and parking work well. The bad point is the price of drinks and foods. 12 bucks for a beer (long neck) is abusive.

  • Awesome Tennis Experience

by Ronnie on 4/2/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

My friends and I were dropped off at the stadium and it was just beautiful! The landscaping was fabulous. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. We truly enjoyed each of our matches. I would only suggest that we have more food choices. Otherwise an awesome experience!

  • Better Each Year

by Kainoy on 4/2/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

Hubby and I have been attending the Miami Open for many years. So glad that it moved from Crandon Park to the Hard Rock. Each year the Hard Rock has shown great improvements with hosting this event. This venue recognizes tennis as a sport and grants tennis fans the opportunity to appreciate the matches. Great job!

  • Best in town

by idatala on 4/2/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

Best chance for a classy event. I love sport in general but the chance to see these champions in action is unbeatable. The event needs more staff training and organization but even when is still in diapers is exceptional.

  • Great Event, Not So Great Parking

by Michigan Marg on 4/2/23Hard Rock Stadium - MiamiRating: 2 out of 5

I had 2 problems with parking. 1. I ordered parking ahead and mistakenly ordered it for Day 13 instead of Session 13. There is no way to change or cancel an order once done! 2. On the day of the session traffic was backed up on the road for almost an hour before we were let in. There was only one man at the street letting only 3 people at a time through for each green light. I live near a stadium in Michigan and they hire the police to direct traffic before each event. It runs much more quickly and smoothly.
