About

Madonna launched her debut tour in 1985 — The Virgin Tour — in the United States and Canada. Shortly thereafter, she toured the world for the first time, embarking in 1987 in support of Who's That Girl. Over the ensuing four decades, Madonna would ignite the world with the most controversial and dynamic pop shows ever mounted, selling out nearly every tour — in its entirety — in seconds. To date, Madonna has performed about 700 shows across 11 concert tours, generating over $1 billion in ticket sales, and is the highest-grossing female touring artist of all time.

MADONNA INCREDIBLE BUT....2 HOURS OF DJ....REALLY!

by sfhyaya on 9/7/12TD Garden - Boston

Madonna is clearly fabulous...but waiting for 2 hours for her to come on was ridiculous....totally ruined the experience....had to leave early so we wouldn't miss the T....

    Lateness is not material

by JMRichmond on 9/7/12TD Garden - Boston

I had been looking forward to finally seeing Madonna in concert. This was a complete disappointment. Madonna did not even arrive on stage until 10:20 pm and by then, the crowd was agitated. This happened in Philly an she apologize there, but that did not happen in Boston and seems to be a pattern. The show has some great elements, incluing the use of a video screen. The first 25 minutes are very dark in tone. After waiting 2.5 hours, we wanted something fun to get us moving. However, this show is not set up to get the crowd engaged until 30 minutes into it. The first 30 minutes is very autotuned and the sound was off. You need to really like the new album as that is the majority of the show and some hits sprinkled throughout. Some are very unrecognizable While it is Madonna's perogative to sing the songs as she would like, it does not engage the audience very well or by that point we were too tired to care. It is ironic that there is a section where Madonna preaches about respect and her political stances. It would have gone over much better if she did not disrepect her audience. I had always admired Madonna - her work ethic, attention to detail, and for putting on a fantastic show. I willingly paid the $300 for tickets. After this concert, i would not pay it again and really question my admiration for her work ethic as it seems to have gone by the wayside.

    Madonna MDNA Tour

by Jendnh on 9/7/12TD Garden - Boston

Madonna always puts on a great performance, and this is no different. Loved the dancers, graphics, etc. Always a great show! Beginning of show is a little morbid if you're bringing kids, but it does get happier! Stay with it!

    Beyond Expectations

    by Grant222 on 9/7/12TD Garden - Boston

Pros: 100's of performers and dozens of performances by Madonna for 2 straight hours. No wonder the ticket price has to be higher than other Concerts. Madonna's voice is as strong as it was in her younger days. Amazing. Cons: Had to wait 2 hours for her to come on stage but she performed 2 hours non-stop so that more then made up for it. If you are looking for Madonna's oldies, she only does a few. Not a bad thing as her new material is very good, but the Crowd, including myself really wanted her classics. Bottom Line: Lady Gaga has her work cut out for her if she ever wants to be in Madonna's league.

    Madonna in Boston!

    by Reebs28 on 9/7/12TD Garden - Boston

Madonna put on a show that was on her own terms, when she finally come on at 10:15pm!!! It was artsy, political and a mixed setlist. She played a lot of her new music and not as many of her hits as I would have liked. If you are not a hard core fan, this show might be lackluster. What made it great was the set design and the dancing. The overall show was amazing and Madonna can give most 20-somethings a run for their money in the stamina department!

    Madonna was incredible!

by kymdixie on 9/7/12TD Garden - Boston

Madonna was full of energy & her sets were innovative. She still has what it takes to keep people on their feet dancing & clapping. I would see her again & again. However, I did not appreciate listening to a boring DJ for over 2 hours! I didn't understand why she didn't go with an up & coming artist to perform instead of someone just spinning records. That was very disappointing.

    A spectacle worth viewing

by dtardy on 9/7/12TD Garden - Boston

In 1985, I remember seeing Madonna on TV for the very first time...I loved her instantly. Growing up in Maine, I was never able to see Madonna live. She would never come to a venue close enough for Mom and Dad to drag me to a show, let alone allow me to drive to one. I lived in Arizona for almost 10 years and Madonna would always play LA or Vegas...never Phoenix. Finally, I moved to Boston and Madonna always stops here. This time around, I was going...no matter what. It was worth the wait. Almost 30 years later, I was finally able to see Madge on stage. I paid top dollar for a single seat in the 12th row...and it was worth every penny. I don't follow her much...and I really didn't know a lot of her newer songs, but the show itself was engaging and jaw-dropping. The music, the visuals, the dancers, her...it was a great package that would keep most entertained. I've seen a lot of shows...a lot of big names...and this one blew them all out of the water.

    Disappointing

by Anonymous on 9/7/12TD Garden - Boston

Madonna is a 54 year old woman whose best songs were decades ago. Her new stuff is terrible and she can't move the way she used to. Given that her audience is composed of a bunch of forty something women who just want the old stuff, she needs to give up the illusion that she is appealing to the teens and twenty somethings (they weren't there) and start playing to her crowd. Also, keeping the audience waiting 2.5 hours while a DJ plays stuff you can hear every day on the radio is lame.

    Too Late and Too Loud

by PeterBoston on 9/7/12TD Garden - Boston

The show was "interesting", and had great promise at the opening. One thing that was bothersome was that the tickets said the show started at 8pm. Madonna didn't even get on stage until about 10:20pm. For the first time that I'm aware of, she had an opening act, a DJ, who blasted current pop tunes. He kind of sucked. Additionally, the audio quality was very poor. The volume was way too high for the TD Garden Center and it just bounced back and forth creating a high pitched type of feedback. It made her vocals sound horrible. There was also too much of the electronically enhanced vocals used.

    Madonna was great

by CristyT on 9/7/12TD Garden - Boston

Waiting for 2 and 1/2 hours for her to come on stage was outrageous and disrespectful to her fans. The dj was not that good that it kept me occupied until Madonna made her appearance. Always been a fan but am very disappointed in the wait time.

"Madonna was totally worth the wait!"

    by Yasgur69 on 9/7/12TD Garden - Boston

Madonna was absolutely AMAZING and her MDNA Tour was everything and MORE than any Madonna or Music fan could hope for. I felt the DJ, Tony Bermudez, that opened the show for Madonna was good but out there a bit too long. It would have been nice for an additional opening act OR have Madonna start her concert sooner that 10:30 PM. It was totally worth the wait!! ~ I look forward to seeing Madonna again and MDNA was "Off the Hook!! ~ AMAZING!!

    MDNA is amazing

    by NoyNoy1 on 9/7/12TD Garden - Boston

I knew ahead of time that the show would not start on time, so it didn't bother me that she did not start until 10:15 pm. Seeing Express Yourself, GMAYL, & LAP live was breathtaking. Madonna was so energetic and exuded such positive vibes. Her speech before Masterpiece was inspirational, as well as lighthearted. Overall, I was not disappointed. She is a top notch performer. Phenomenal show!

    Madonna is rude

by Efdfire on 9/7/12TD Garden - Boston

First the temp.in the place was 90+ degrees, then she did not come on until 10:30 pm,A very long wait. She played 23 songs and 4 or 5 she was not on stage it was a video.I would not pay that kind of money to see her again. Be warned you are in for a long wait and dress for a very hot night.

    Madonna - Too Much Violence

by chapita on 9/7/12TD Garden - Boston

What a disappointing concert. With what is going on in today's world and with the recent movie shooting incident, I was very surprised by Madonna's action to have so much violence used on stage as her theatrics. We were ready to leaving into the 2nd song due to the uncomfortable show she was giving. We decided to stick it out and then only became more disappointed with the auto tuned voice that was used and the display of videos on screen and listening to her music when she should have been on stage singing. It was also very disappointing that she started so late, and for what reason. I left early as this was a concert that was a waist of my time.

one thing that had me upset was that we were in our seats by 8PM and Madonna didn't go on until after 10pm....and there was just a DJ as her opening act...he was good, but after 30 minutes if got frustrating.....

Madonna rocked it like a 20 yr old

    by krummy26 on 9/7/12TD Garden - Boston

Overall a great, high energy show. she danced like she was 22 again through the whole show. Not overly impressed with her slowed down, accapella version of "like a virgin" and her set of 3 of her new songs were a good time to use the restroom but other than that great show. She did start a hour late and even the concession stands were closed before she went on stage. comments were made that she may have cut her show short to comply with closing time of the arena of midnight but they seemed to make an exception for her since her 1 song encore ended at 12:15am.

Two and a half hour wait too long but great show

    by Tebby2 on 9/7/12TD Garden - Boston

We bought $355 tickets ($375 with fees) in February, looked forward to the show for eight months, planned the one-hour drive into Boston, then had to leave the show before it ended to get out of the parking lot before it closed at 12:30. Even a two hour delay would have been ok but two and a half was too much! Tuesday night in Boston not ready for late nights. During the wait the people sitting around us made multiple trips to the bar and were very drunk by the time the show began, spilling beer on people, etc. The DJ played too long, the break after he finished was distracting and broke any party mood established by the DJ. That said, the show itself was fantastic, Madonna really delivers in performance, innovative, fun, colorful, exciting, imaginative and it just got better as it went along. Another reason why it was so upsetting to have to leave before the end!

2 1/2 hours late without any announcement. Missed entire show because train back home was at 1030pm...show was supposed to start at 8pm with no opening act.
