Besides taking so long to come out, almost 10:15pm, she had this extremely bad DJ opening for her who kept playing radio songs and never had the place exited. Madonna in the other hand, she was drunk and that's why it took so long for her to come out, they need it to gain sometime for her to sober up, the speech was horrible and out of sync. NEVER AGAIN! Wish I can get my $ back!
Madonna was great! True to form with NO FEAR in any of her performance. How can you go wrong when you get to see this icon walk on a tight rope? My only complaint, and it's a big one, is that she went on WAY too late. I think that she finally took the stage sometime around 10:20 p.m. This posed a huge problem for those in the audience that relied on public transportation to get them home.
This was a very disturbing concert - too much violence! In this day and age with so many random shootings I would have thought Madonna would have had a different theme. It was ridiculous to watch "shooting" with the back drop of blood spurting. On another note, the remainder of he concert was excellent choreography. She lipsynched at times. I paid lots of money for this violent show. No thanks! I do NOT recommend. Also - concert tix say 8PM and she did not get on stage til 10:20PM (there was a DJ prior - ridiculous!!)
Madonna was absolutely amazing. The show was terrific and I wish she had put more shows on in Boston so I could see them!
Not her best tour, but she is the STAR, always. She is in a very good shape, has energy and can get her fans crazy for her!
Once again she puts on the greatest show on earth. I know people say the tickets are expensive, but quality doesn't come cheap and worth every penny.
Great concert. However, it started 2 hr 20 min after the posted 8 PM ticket time. I know she wants to give us a great concert, but then the ticket time should be altered to reflect that so people can arrive later. The opening DJ (Joe Bermudez) was alright. The first 10 min gets you pumped, but the next 60 becomes boring. Madonna's concert started out slow and strange with the violent repertoire for two of her songs. I really wish she would have not amended some of her older songs like "Papa Don't Preach" and "Like a Virgin." I counted three top hits where everyone stood up including LUV, Vogue, and Like a Prayer. Overall I had fun, but I could have had more fun, and therefore more value for my money, especially if there was no delay (or perceived delay).
Madonna is still the Queen of Pop! Really great concert - Definetly would recommend this to everyone who likes her songs. Could have performed some more of her classic hits and I wasn't a big fan of her changing up a lot of the old songs she played but hey - this was MDNA and not the 80's....
Although the concert had a regular DJ openning for her and her 2:15hs late to get to stage we all had a blast. It's Madonna, there's no words to describe how she rocked Boston that night. Amazing concert. Definitely on my top 5.
We hired a babysitter so we could come see this amazing show. Got into Boston early, had dinner, went to our seats and waited...and waited...and waited. Finally, at 10:30 she appeared. At that point, my angst, disappointment and outrage took over for what should have been an exciting moment. We couldn't get past it and it ruined our experience. We don't expect shows to start on time, but making your fans pay a very high ticket price and then thumbing your nose at them by letting them sit for that long is beyond distasteful. We had to leave the show to get home, which wasn't hard to do, as the show was filled was angry songs and nothing really to "dance and sing" to. She has piqued and gone beyond "diva" status; she's now entered the "screw you" arena that entertainers sometimes tend to fall into and thus lose their core group of fans, not that they care. But I care and I will never spend another penny on Madonna again. I'm disgusted and done.
DJ Bermudez kicked things off at 8:00 with a nice dance set. If you came to dance, you would have enjoyed yourself. At least for the first 60-90 minutes. His set went 2.5 hours, to 10:30, before Madonna finally made her appearance. They had already had last call at the Garden by the time she came on. She put on a very entertaining show that ended a little after midnight. Personally speaking, I don't think you should ever put on a performance that is shorter than your opener, but that is just me.
I was disappointed withy the show. She strated so late and we had terrible seats and i wanted her to sing more of her classics. i do think she puts on a wonderful performance though.
11 of us went to the concert very excited to see Madonna, paying over $100/seat for the balcony. The concert was supposed to start at 8pm, by about 8:30pm a DJ went on and spun music for a little over an hour. Before the end of his set, the crowd around me was chanting for Madonna to come on stage and booing the DJ. He finished and we waited while the crew swept the unused stage and broke down his equipment. Madonna came out at 10:22pm. Seriously? People were playing Words With Friends and playing on their phones. Two of my friends left after 11:25pm because they had to get the train so they could get home and another one left at 11:15pm to get home to her son. Madonna finished by 12:15am. It was very difficult to get passed her not getting on stage until so late, friends leaving and missing the concert they used their hard earned money to pay for, and feeling disrespected as a fan. I will say that once Madonna hit the stage, she put on a great show, it's very theatrical, the dancing is fun, the stage is cool. She did perform for about 1.5 hours. What she has in talent was ruined by the feeling that as a fan, you were insignificant.
Madonna took the stage at 10:25, on a Tuesday! Really inconsiderate, adding that Boston has limited public transportation after midnight, my friends and I were worried on our mode of getting home. Throughout the performance, she knew she was late, thus very little chit chat and interaction with the audience just so the concert can move along quickly. At 11:59, she literally sang her last words to "Celebration" then her and her dancers dashed off the stage, no thank you, good-byes, bowing, or credit her musicians and dancers like a normal show. Yes, for her music and dancing, this was a great concert, but this diva behavior really put a sour note to this long time fan, not sure if I'll ever spend close to $400 for another ticket of hers ever again!
Clearly I am a fan as this is my fifth concert. The show started 2 hours and 25 minutes late and many (myself included) didn' get to see the end of the show as we had to leave early before the trains stopped for the night. $400 for a seat and I didn't even get to see the entire show! Unaceptable. Also, her song selection was horrid. I really enjoyed her 4 prior concerts but this one was horrendous on every level. Her odd rendition of Like a Virgin sounded like a 78 RPM record being run at 33 RPM - it was so slow and draggy that it was almost unidentifiable. I will say that the sets were just about the best of any of her concerts that I have attended.
She was 2 and a half hour late and didn't even apologize for that. Concert was shy of 2 hours, no encore, nothing that you expect to see from a superstar like Madonna! I am a big Madonna fan and was really looking forward to see her live and was deeply disappointed.
Madonna's opener was a DJ who played club music tirelessly for over an hour and fifteen minutes at decibels higher than human ears should have to suffer. People were sitting covering their ears, praying for the torture to end. After he finished, it still took almost an hour for them to set up for Madonna, even though he "performed" from essentially a table in front of the stage. By the time she went on, it was almost twenty after ten-- the show was called for 8pm. Her set was loaded down with her new album material, which is sophomoric, at best. The once pop-princess has resorted to ridiculous lyrics and uninspiring music to allow her to feature some moderately impressive dance moves. Of course, she wasn't really singing during many parts of the show. When she did sing, everything was brought down half an octave from the originals and those performances were lackluster, at best. We left at 1130, as we had to work the next day and did not expect to have to be comatose to do so. Most acts go on at 9 when the concert is called for 8. I certainly would not have paid close to $400 a ticket had I known what a disappointing and aggravating evening it would become.
Awesome show once she got on stage. Waiting over 2 hours wasn't very fair to her crowd. I couldn't stay for the whole show because I had to catch a train home. Madonna should remember who is coming to her show, its all of us that have followed her since the early 80's and most of the crowd was well over 45 yrs old and up, and we have to get up at 5:30 or 6:00 in the morning for work ourselves. Even a 9:00 start to the show would have been better than 10:20pm.
She showed up 2 hours and 15 min late with no appology. Her opening band was a DJ. She sang mostly her new songs and very few of the songs that made her who she is today. The old songs she did sing she messed with so we could not enjoy them. I paid $200 to see the Madonna I knew and loved but I was greatly disappointed with the Madonna who FINALLY showed up. On a positive note, her backup dancers were amazing! The stage show was excellent. Over all I was very disappointed in Madonna and her lack of consideration for her fans.
