About

M83's "Midnight City" was one of the most anthemic songs of 2011, ending up at the top of Pitchfork's year-end list and propelling album Hurry Up, We're Dreaming to Top 40 chart positions around the world. The band's subsequent concert tour gave ticket buyers a close-up view of what makes them an international success — namely, a deep catalog of polished songs, a laser and light show that blows all audiences away and the infectious stage presence of founding member Anthony Gonzalez. If there's one word to describe M83's vibe, it's optimistic; and whether it's the band's exhilarating anthems or their danceable synth-based instrumentals, you'll definitely walk away feeling good. "Hurry Up, We're Dreaming" was their breakout, but seeing them live puts them over the top.

The band got its start in Antibes, France, with founding members Anthony Gonzalez and Nicolas Fromageau. After releasing two albums, 2001's self-titled debut and 2003's "Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts," to critical acclaim, Fromageau departed and left Gonzalez to pursue his singular vision. Gonzalez soon followed up with 2005's "Before the Dawn Heals Us" and 2008's "Saturdays=Youth" before culminating with "Hurry Up, We're Dreaming." Gonzalez has also contributed to several remix collections and a film soundtrack while attracting a steady stream of his own collaborators for M83. This band shows that "overnight success" is often years in the making, and now that they're in the limelight, they have the chops to back it up.

    AWESOME VENUE

by Ryan on 4/25/23The Anthem - Washington

The Anthem is the best venue on the east coast by far. M83 was just OK. Wish they played more songs from “Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming”

    An Orchestra lead by Journey

by Christian R on 4/25/23The Anthem - Washington

So the opener felt like a joke if I'm being honest. More synthy Minecraft music. But M83 I went in only knowing a few songs honestly and I left absolutely stunned. The instruments in person are so much more intense. You could feel the music and the passion. It was like an Orchestra lead by Journey. Literally made me so emotional I cried around the end. 10/10 would recommend

    Life changing.

by Mel on 4/25/23The Anthem - Washington

I sobbed my eyes out and felt every emotion I possibly could within those 90 minutes. The passion between the group members is so evident, the chemistry they have with one another is unmissable, and together they are so harmonious. Such an incredible performance.

    M83 at Anthem

by renee' on 4/25/23The Anthem - Washington

While I am not that familiar with M83 full catalogue, I do enjoy their recorded music. The concert had a great light show, but the bass and drums were so loud that they overwhelmed the rest of the music. Not sure if it was the sound engineers or was intended, but for my taste a little less base so you can enjoy the full music would be an improvement.

    M83

by Newwave on 4/25/23The Anthem - Washington

It was a jamming time, but the bass levels were so high that the vocals were a bit muffled for us near the stage/speakers.

by Alex on 4/25/23The Anthem - Washington

Absolutely amazing performance. Some of the songs sound better live than they do on the recording. The lighting and effects were amazing. Really made you feel like you were part of a story. Would 100% go see them again

    Absolutely Epic

by C. C. on 4/19/23House of Blues Dallas - Dallas

M83 live is quite the experience and they delivered an amazing show on Sunday. Set list was great, new album material is just as epic as their back catalog, and led to an epic overall show. I will never miss an M83 show when they come through. Ranks among the best concerts I have ever attended, just like the 3 other times I have seen them.

    The show of a lifetime!!

by Ashley on 4/19/23House of Blues Dallas - Dallas

M83 put on one of the best shows ever. My husband and I have been wanting to see them live for almost a decade. They played songs from their new album “Fantasy” as well as several songs from past albums that the true fans love. I can’t say enough great things about our experience. The venue - House of Blues Dallas - was such a wonderful and intimate venue for a concert. We loved every minute of it. Probably the best concert of our lives!

    Great venue

by Ashley on 4/16/23Aztec Theatre - San Antonio

Not a tiny venue, but the setup made it still feel intimate. Presale tickets are the way to go, if we all don’t know that by now. Otherwise you’ll end up paying at least twice as much for no legitimate reason. The floor level is divided into two sections, one raised to stage level and the other is lower. Love the concept of still being further from the stage but still maintaining a decent view. Alcohol was a bit overpriced so maybe get your evening started at a nearby restaurant or bar beforehand. Entry was fast and organized.
