Round Up by arrangement with Live Nation present

LUCINDA WILLIAMS

THURSDAY OCTOBER 8, 2015 – Round Up by arrangement with Live Nation is thrilled to announce one of America’s finest singer-songwriters, LUCINDA WILLIAMS will head to New Zealand for one show only, playing Auckland’s Vector Arena on Friday December 4.

It’s been three years since the immensely talented Lucinda Williams graced our shores and we’re honoured to welcome the three-time Grammy Award winner back to New Zealand for a one-off intimate performance. Renowned for marrying rock, blues, country and soul, Lucinda heads our way, with stellar band in tow; including Wallflowers guitarist Stuart Mathis and her irreplaceable rhythm section, David Sutton on bass and Butch Norton on drums.

Tickets for this one-off performance will go on sale at midday Monday, October 12.

My Live Nation and Southern Fork members can be among the first to secure tickets during the pre-sales commencing at midday tomorrow, Friday October 9.

For complete tour and ticketing details, visit: www.livenation.co.nz.

With a recording career spanning 12 albums and nearing four decades, Lucinda Williams is touring on the back of her brilliant 2014 double-album release, Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone, which was voted Album of the Year at the 14th Annual Americana Awards last month.

The album includes 20 new songs with all but two of the tracks written solely by 62-year-old Williams. From the very personal ‘Compassion’ penned by her poet father, Miller Williams and sung into being by Lucinda, to the closing, beautifully epic rendition of JJ Cale’s ‘Magnolia’; Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone is testament to Lucinda’s prowess.

Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone joins a distinguished discography including 1978 debut Ramblin’ on My Mind, 1988’s eponymous breakthrough, Lucinda Williams and 1998’s landmark Car Wheels On A Gravel Road.

  • Lucinda Williams was a disappointment!

by Anonymous on 7/18/11PNC PAVILION - CincinnatiRating: 2 out of 5

Amos Lee was great, wish he would have played longer. He should have been the main act. Lucina Williams preformance was terrible. Any preformer who has to read printed lyrics, while preforming is certainly not worth the money it cost to see the show.

  • Lucinda Williams is ALWAYS AWESOME !!!!!!

by RETROREVA on 7/18/11PNC PAVILION - CincinnatiRating: 5 out of 5

i AM A HUGE LUCINDA WILLIAMS FAN AND WOULD GO SEE HERE EVERY WEEK IF I COULD! THE ADDITION OF AMOS LEE WAS A NICE SURPRISE AND HE WAS ALSO VERY GOOD! I HOPE SHE WILL CONTINUE TO VISIT THE GREATER CINCINNATI AREA !!!

  • by allnicknameschosen on 7/17/11PNC PAVILION - CincinnatiRating: 4 out of 5

Both artists performed well, but i would have liked Amos Lee to have played longer, and/or he and Lucinda singing a duet would have been nice. It was a fun show and i would attend it again if given the chance. The free picnic and presence of a local band before the show was a great addition.

  • Amos Lee / Lucinda Williams Rock!

    by Rabbed63 on 7/17/11PNC PAVILION - CincinnatiRating: 5 out of 5

I bought tix because I'm a Amo Lee fan, saw him last year at sold out 20th Century Theater. Not so much Lucinda Williams,I'd heard of her but never listened to much of her music. I'm a Lucinda fan now! The songs I liked the most were off her new CD "Blessed" both the title song and song "You Deserve To Be Loved", wow really deep cool songs preformed well. Truely enjoyed Amos Lee & band preforming songs I love. Overall a great concert!

  • Amos Lee Was Tremendous!

by Anonymous on 7/17/11PNC PAVILION - CincinnatiRating: 2 out of 5

Amos Lee was tremendous!!!!!! He should have been the headliner. I could have listened to him all night. Lucinda on the otherhand read her lyrics and appeared to be wasted and we left after the 5th song.

  • Lucinda Williams and Amos Lee

by jaynie on 7/17/11PNC PAVILION - CincinnatiRating: 5 out of 5

Both acts were great!! Very pleasant evening. Lucinda and Amos are wonderful. I thought they were supposed to do a duet at the end, but that didn't happen.

  • Amos was great

by dogsnarl on 7/17/11PNC PAVILION - CincinnatiRating: 3 out of 5

Did not realize Amos Lee was the opening act. He sounded great - as always, but could have interacted a little more with the audience. The lack of a encore was also disappointing. Not impressed with Lucinda at all. We left after 3 of her songs. The venue, however, was nice.

  • Amos Lee was outstanding!

    by Byondme3 on 7/17/11PNC PAVILION - CincinnatiRating: 3 out of 5

Amos Lee should of been the headliner. He writes with his whole heart and sole. The band and the backup singers were great. On the other hand, Lucinda Williams was just singing the words. No emotion what so ever. She looked like she just wanted to get the whole concert over and get out of there. She never smiled or talked in between songs. Never acknowledge the audiance. She was a bummer. But Amos made my trip from Dayton worth it.

Lucinda put on a Great show. What else do you need to know?

  • Very disappointing

by JSMason on 7/17/11PNC PAVILION - CincinnatiRating: 1 out of 5

We bought the tickets in order to see Amos, having seen him several times before. The show was billed as "Lucinda Williams and Amos Lee" so we expected that Lucinda would play first. We walked in at 8:45 (8:00 start) only to see Amos finishing his set with his final 3 songs. We hung around to see the beginning of Lucinda's set. Not familiar at all with her music & left after 4 unimpressive songs.

  • Pretty fun for spur of the moment

by mikewo on 7/14/11Riverfront Park - MankatoRating: 3 out of 5

Played to the crowd, and that was really nice...a smaller venue for them, to be sure, but they looked like they had fun, and so did we...enough said.

  • amazing

have seen her 5 times and this was the best one yet.

  • Lucinda is Blessed with voice.

Loved Lucinda's band and the venue, Riverfront Park in Mankato.

  • by Anonymous on 7/12/11Riverfront Park - MankatoRating: 5 out of 5

Fabulous! She rocked the house and I would recommend the show to anyone who loves music.

  • Lucinda keeps it real

by kennedyland on 7/12/11Riverfront Park - MankatoRating: 5 out of 5

In a world of lip-sync-botox-dance-girls who sell their souls to get a number one rating, Lucinda Williams brings a breath of fresh air. Looking like she stepped out of the audience and onto the stage to sing to a group of good friends, she kept it real, she kept it genuine, and she had fun. For two hours the music was raw, unforgiving, and straight to the heart. In her 50's and to her credit, Lucinda Williams keeps it real. No gimmicks, no need to force it on the audience. She knew what to do and had fun doing it. Relying on talent and energy she did what all great artists do - she put it all out there and let it be taken in however it worked. Whenever Lucinda Williams is in Minneapolis the tickets go like wildfire. In Mankato, Minnesota, roughly 90 miles southeast of Minneapolis, the tickets came easier. the irony is that everyone I spoke to drove down from Minneapolis to see her because they always had trouble getting tickets in the Twin Cities. If you have a chance to see her, don't hesitate. Go.

  • Lucinda Williams rocked out in Mankato!

by AnneFred on 7/12/11Riverfront Park - MankatoRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was awesome. Lucinda always puts on a great show. The bonus was the venue, Riverfront Park in Mankato and the Vetterstone Amphitheater was amazing!! The best outside venue ever.

  • What about David Lindley?

by BlindRaspberry on 6/29/11Mountain Winery - SaratogaRating: 4 out of 5

Lucinda was great, her band was smokin', they gave us a full dose. But the way the management cut off David LIndley was disgraceful. Surely this can be handled in a more professional manner. As good as Lucinda was, her show did not erase the sour taste in my mouth left by Lindley's abrupt silencing and departure.

  • Lucinda is awesome--getting there the problem

by Gurnz on 6/29/11Mountain Winery - SaratogaRating: 4 out of 5

The sound at the Winery is excellent and the views are spectacular. Lucinda and the band really rocked. She did a really good variety of her stuff--not all new or all old. The Winery really needs to place a sign at every turnoff on the way up the mountain. This was my second time there and still I made a wrong turn.

  • Lucinda rocks

by roadtripfromseattle on 6/28/11Mountain Winery - SaratogaRating: 4 out of 5

We drove 14 hours to see Lucinda because the concert in our area was sold out. The concert was great and we would do it again!

  • lucinda at her best

by pulpfranco on 6/28/11Mountain Winery - SaratogaRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen Lucinda many times and she is always great but this night she was at her best . She was taken to new heights with the help of a great backing band that laid down a solid energetic beat that kept me moving in my seat. If you have never seen Lucinda live then you are missing out on a amazing night of rock music.
