Round Up by arrangement with Live Nation present

LUCINDA WILLIAMS

THURSDAY OCTOBER 8, 2015 – Round Up by arrangement with Live Nation is thrilled to announce one of America’s finest singer-songwriters, LUCINDA WILLIAMS will head to New Zealand for one show only, playing Auckland’s Vector Arena on Friday December 4.

It’s been three years since the immensely talented Lucinda Williams graced our shores and we’re honoured to welcome the three-time Grammy Award winner back to New Zealand for a one-off intimate performance. Renowned for marrying rock, blues, country and soul, Lucinda heads our way, with stellar band in tow; including Wallflowers guitarist Stuart Mathis and her irreplaceable rhythm section, David Sutton on bass and Butch Norton on drums.

Tickets for this one-off performance will go on sale at midday Monday, October 12.

My Live Nation and Southern Fork members can be among the first to secure tickets during the pre-sales commencing at midday tomorrow, Friday October 9.

For complete tour and ticketing details, visit: www.livenation.co.nz.

With a recording career spanning 12 albums and nearing four decades, Lucinda Williams is touring on the back of her brilliant 2014 double-album release, Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone, which was voted Album of the Year at the 14th Annual Americana Awards last month.

The album includes 20 new songs with all but two of the tracks written solely by 62-year-old Williams. From the very personal ‘Compassion’ penned by her poet father, Miller Williams and sung into being by Lucinda, to the closing, beautifully epic rendition of JJ Cale’s ‘Magnolia’; Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone is testament to Lucinda’s prowess.

Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone joins a distinguished discography including 1978 debut Ramblin’ on My Mind, 1988’s eponymous breakthrough, Lucinda Williams and 1998’s landmark Car Wheels On A Gravel Road.

  • LW @ The Vogue

    by ARod12 on 7/14/09Vogue Theatre - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

The show was a great time. She played a bit longer than I expected her to. Not much room to move around, I supposed indicative of her talent! The atmosphere was very positive; all seemed to really get into the performance. Lucinda was obviously greatful for everyone's overt support!

I've been a fan for a long time. This is only the second time I've seen her live. The show lived up to all my expectaions. The venue was great and Lucinda was terrific.

  • Great Lucinda show

by cosworth on 7/14/09Vogue Theatre - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

What a great show, and what a great venue FOR a show. I've had great respect for Lucinda Williams for many years, just never got a chance to see her. She put on an awesome concert that night at the Vogue. Mixing all her songs from over the years, along with many from her latest "Little Honey", it was just a perfectly planned event. Views in the theater were all excellent, and the sound was like I was listening thru a pair of headphones. I highly recommend Lucinda for a concert experience you'll not soon forget, and the Vogue for its' great, "homey" atmosphere!

  • Great performer and a great band

by Elduder on 7/14/09Madison Theater - CovingtonRating: 4 out of 5

First off the band she was with was fantastic. This girl can rock. I am not big on the singer songwriter type and honestly not when they are women but Lucinda beats all expectations and I loved her closer AC/DC long way to the top if you want to rock and roll. the whole show was a lot of fun and her voice is so good. If you like music you will certianly appreciate this artist. Very tight sound and a good crowd. Coming into the show I did not know any of her music my fiancee wanted me to go. I am very glad I did that is the only reason I gave 4 stars not 5 she would have given her 5 stars and since my girl is also a singer songwriter she is very critical when watching a show but she was also blown away by her performance. The Madison is always a great venue so she really played to the very apprecaitive crowd.

  • All Lucinda All The Time !

Lucinda's show was excellent ! It was energetic, and had variety and a lot of great kickin' music !

  • Great Venue, eccentric audience, very good show...

by MitNagrom on 7/14/09Madison Theater - CovingtonRating: 4 out of 5

The Venue was well laid out and people were cordial. The bar was well staffed, so getting a drink was not a problem. I was able to find standing room near stage left. She started the show slowly, building with tempo and momentum. Not only did she prove her vocal talent, but her band was remarkable. The guitar tech earned his keep that night.

  • Lucinda still rocks

by dogdaddy on 7/14/09Vogue Theatre - IndianapolisRating: 4 out of 5

This was the second time I've seen Lucinda and she remains the hardest working woman in rock with no nonsense or wasted energy. Focused, passionate, and raw. Her band was tight, versatile and precise as she made her way through her new songs and some old favorites from her prior albums: Real Live Bleeding Findgers and Broken Strings, Concrete and Barbwire, Jackson, Come On, West, Where is My Love. Not sure how she can bear her emotional soul everynight on the road, but it's a moving experience to watch.

  • Lucinda Williams- Gritty Blues

by andrews on 7/14/09Vogue Theatre - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Lucinda played a phenomenal show, blending some of her classics with those from her latest album. The band sounded tight and communicated well on stage, blending perfectly with her voice and rhythm guitar without overpowering her. Fantastic

  • Lucinda Williams was fantastic.

by LWfan on 7/14/09Vogue Theatre - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

I've been wanting to see Lucinda Williams for several years, since she is my favorite female musician. Both she and her band were even better than I expected. The Vogue was a great place for the concert, and I hope she comes back in a small venue like the Vogue or Murat Theater. If so, I'll be sure to attend.

  • Lucinda Rocks Again!

    by Blindfaith57 on 7/14/09Madison Theater - CovingtonRating: 4 out of 5

Saw Lucinda at the Madison Theater in Covington KY 2009, and at the Palace in Louisville last year. First time at the '09 venue, impressive & casual...easy to find & park, great seats everywhere (though a little cramped near the rail), great sound. She was amazing as expected, band (Buick 6) was tight...but not as good as previous band. Lucinda's voice was as strong and rich as ever, so no disappointment. Would go again, & look forward to seeing more like this @ the Madison Theater.

  • Lucinda Rocks!

by Lucindafan on 7/14/09Madison Theater - CovingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Lucinda Williams has a huge catalog of wonderful songs to choose from, and her selections for this concert showcased her singing talents beautifully. The warm-up band surprised this viewer by returning to the stage with Lucinda as her backup band, and performed admirably in both roles. The venue is great - not a bad seat in the house.

  • great show

she put on one heck of a show - again...! the venue was great too - smaller, which I like sometimes. overall really really great!!

  • Lucinda Williams Rocks!

by Jackcat on 7/14/09Vogue Theatre - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Was hesitant to go to the concert because of the small venue, but she was awesome. Voice was clear and it wasn't so loud that you couldn't understand her. She is an amazing songwriter and performer.

  • Lucinda rocks!!!

by BlikedLucinda on 7/14/09Madison Theater - CovingtonRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen Lucinda in concert 4 times and each time she has had a different style. Last year with Mellencamp was awesome but at the Madison she was rockin' out with so many older tunes and the band, WOW, the band was fantastic. I really enjoyed it, it was a rougher side of Lucinda and her voice was right on...it was definitley time well spent! I'm for sure a Lucinda fan and I'll be back to see her again and again and encourage anyone who has not seen her live to get out there and enjoy the "essence" of Lucinda!

  • Lucinda was hot!

by blujaz on 7/13/09House of Blues Anaheim - AnaheimRating: 4 out of 5

Lucinda was sizzling, electifying, and sexy. She does that moody, broody thing with penache and makes you want to cry as well as kick up your heels and dance. Not to mention knock back a few and wallow in you sorrows and celebrate your triumphs. There is no one like her and I never tire of participating in one of her performances. Never a disappointment!
