Round Up by arrangement with Live Nation present

LUCINDA WILLIAMS

THURSDAY OCTOBER 8, 2015 – Round Up by arrangement with Live Nation is thrilled to announce one of America’s finest singer-songwriters, LUCINDA WILLIAMS will head to New Zealand for one show only, playing Auckland’s Vector Arena on Friday December 4.

It’s been three years since the immensely talented Lucinda Williams graced our shores and we’re honoured to welcome the three-time Grammy Award winner back to New Zealand for a one-off intimate performance. Renowned for marrying rock, blues, country and soul, Lucinda heads our way, with stellar band in tow; including Wallflowers guitarist Stuart Mathis and her irreplaceable rhythm section, David Sutton on bass and Butch Norton on drums.

Tickets for this one-off performance will go on sale at midday Monday, October 12.

My Live Nation and Southern Fork members can be among the first to secure tickets during the pre-sales commencing at midday tomorrow, Friday October 9.

For complete tour and ticketing details, visit: www.livenation.co.nz.

With a recording career spanning 12 albums and nearing four decades, Lucinda Williams is touring on the back of her brilliant 2014 double-album release, Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone, which was voted Album of the Year at the 14th Annual Americana Awards last month.

The album includes 20 new songs with all but two of the tracks written solely by 62-year-old Williams. From the very personal ‘Compassion’ penned by her poet father, Miller Williams and sung into being by Lucinda, to the closing, beautifully epic rendition of JJ Cale’s ‘Magnolia’; Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone is testament to Lucinda’s prowess.

Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone joins a distinguished discography including 1978 debut Ramblin’ on My Mind, 1988’s eponymous breakthrough, Lucinda Williams and 1998’s landmark Car Wheels On A Gravel Road.

  • Lucinda Rocks!

by tmcnickname on 11/1/11Allentown Symphony Hall - AllentownRating: 5 out of 5

I was hoping she would start playing at 8:00 pm but her band played for almost an hour before she come on the stage. Her band is great so I didn't mind but I really wanted to see/hear Lucinda. I am never disappointed at her shows..with one exception at the Newport Folk Festival in 2003.

  • 2nd show with Lucinda

    by Lui59 on 11/1/11Allentown Symphony Hall - AllentownRating: 4 out of 5

Oh the voice- beautiful as ever. Song selection a little on the depressing side but she picked it up as the show went on. Band was tight.

  • Lucinda at the Keswick

    by Kimberly16 on 10/31/11Keswick Theatre - GlensideRating: 4 out of 5

Lucinda and her band were fantastic! They played a nice mix of music and koodos to the Keswick for their awesome sound.....I will definitely be back for more!! :)

  • Lucinda Williams

by Okirk on 10/31/11Keswick Theatre - GlensideRating: 3 out of 5

Have seen LW on TV where she appeared more relaxed than she did at the Keswick, Sat., 9/29. Her song sequence also seemed ill-conceived, with several really slow to downer numbers before anything upbeat and then back down again. Her guitarist was, however, extraordinary, a virtual virtuoso. I'll continue to listen to Lucinda's CDs and keep an eye peeled for television appearances but probably not look her up live again any time soon.

  • Lu always gives it her best

    by LuFAN1 on 10/31/11Keswick Theatre - GlensideRating: 5 out of 5

I loved Lucinda's concert at the Keswick. It was my third time seeing her this year and it was great. She mixes up her playlists and always delivers exceptional music.

  • LuLu great, wierd twist in the middle, venue boo

by OspreyB on 10/31/11Keswick Theatre - GlensideRating: 4 out of 5

Other than a rather weird twist into some sort of psychedelic dream in the middle, the set was awesome and a pleasure to hear. The lead guitarist and drummer play a great short set as warm-up, too. What was NOT fun was the incredible noise in the back of the Keswick hall near the bar area during the warm-up set. Totally unappreciated by the audience and disrespectful to the artist on stage. Fix that!

  • Amazing!

by Dustmandan on 10/31/11Keswick Theatre - GlensideRating: 5 out of 5

She rocked...old songs and new songs! I've seen Lucinda before and I'm never disappointed. She get better with AGE! Rock and Roll with a little touch of Country! Opening Act was great.

Allentown Symphony Hall was a great venue! Not a bad seat and the sound was great. Lucinda did a great job as always and played a super lobgset!

  • Keswick performance on Oct. 29, 2011-Phenominal!

by Dustmandan on 10/30/11Keswick Theatre - GlensideRating: 5 out of 5

What a Birthday Gift...2 tickets to see Lucinda Williams! She was great. The place was rockin! A four piece band and they were the perfect blend to complement each other. Made it there in the Noreaster that dumped about 6 inches of snow in the area! Well worth the 3 1/2 hour trip in the storm. Can't wait to see her again!

  • Lucinda Williams was lots of fun

    by chix96 on 10/24/11Jannus Live - St PetersburgRating: 4 out of 5

Great show; her latest album, Blessed, wasn't my favorite of her discography, but the songs from Blessed that she performed live were really enjoyable. Much of the audience was comprised of older, crunchier folk than myself, but the diversity of the audience definitely made it fun crowd!

  • Sounded better in person!!

Great venue and Lucinda's voice was strong and the bank was great.

  • Lucinda Rocks!

by cathchick on 10/24/11Jannus Live - St PetersburgRating: 5 out of 5

One of the best shows I have ever seen. Everyone needs to experience her music in a live, intimate venue. The band was great too, they took her music to another level.

  • Lucinda ruled the evening!!

by Acousticplayer on 10/22/11Parker Playhouse - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

Lucinda came out wanting to perform. She was on the money throughout the show. BUICK 6 backed her beautifly. Spent the entire next day praising her performance. Listened to the Blessed cd, well, all of her music since the show. More than impressed.

  • Lucinda & Buick 6 Rock The House

by tstigger on 10/22/11Parker Playhouse - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

Wow, was it worth the wait. Lucinda doesn't come to Florida much but when she shoes up she blows in like a hurricane. Lucinda & Buick 6 were fantastic. Buick 6 warmed up the audience with a 30 min. opener of incredible instrumental music. Lucinda then came out and played for about 2 hours. She played most of her hits from the last 20 years and rocked the house Seeing the show, it is understandable that she just got awarded a lifetime achievement award. One of the top women vocalist around. She can go from soft melody to in your face rock and roll on a single note. The other treats of the show was a performance of an unrecorded song called "stowaway in your heart". Can't wait to hear the future studio version. Also, Butch Trucks, drummer from the Allman Brothers, was a guest during the encore and sat in for 2 songs. One being a Brothers cover of It's Not My Cross To Bear" Parker Playhouse is a small app. 1,000 seat venue with great. acoustics. I would recommend thsi venue to anybody wanting to see a performance. I hope she come back here soon. All us graying hippies aren't getting any younger.

  • Thanks Lucinda for a great show

by CBDL on 10/22/11Parker Playhouse - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

Another great show by Lucinda. And a perfect place to see her. The Parker Playhouse was as warm as the star and the crowd. The evening couldn't have been better. Lucinda played a wide range of old favorites and some new songs. And if that wasn't enough, Butch Trucks sat in and laid down the sticks for a few songs. Icing on the top of an already great show.

  • Lucinda was awesome!!

    by howster396 on 10/22/11Jannus Live - St PetersburgRating: 5 out of 5

I have been a fan for years, but this was the first time I have seen her live. She didn't disappoint. She makes it look so effortless, and just rolls with her music. The outdoor venue was a perfect setting for the concert. Hope she comes back soon.

  • Pure Excellence at it's Best

by HHHraku on 10/22/11Parker Playhouse - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

Lucinda was amazing as always! Parker Playhouse was the perfect intimate setting to enjoy an evening of live music at it's best. Somehow Lucinda manages to sound even better live; kinda like a fine beverage straight up without the benefit of ice and mixers. That only happens with true, raw talent. We have had the pleasure of seeing her before, so when I heard she was coming to south Florida, there was no question in my mind, I was going. The fact that it was a work/school night, 4-hour roundtrip, and nice chunk of change was irrelevent. Wouldn't have missed it for the world, and brought friends along too, so they could experience the unforgetable Lucinda doing what she does, and for that we are all blessed! Thank you Lucinda and Parker Playhouse!

  • Lucinda rocked it!

    by Bamamom44 on 10/22/11Parker Playhouse - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

Anybody that follows Lucinda Williams knows what an incredible talent she is. Her style, voice, songs, lyrics, band members, etc.......all beyond compare. Her performances are solid! The Parker Playhouse was the perfect, intimate theater to showcase Lucinda!!!!!

  • Not great. Left early.

by Stunny on 10/22/11Jannus Live - St PetersburgRating: 2 out of 5

Jannus Live is a great place to catch a show. Sadly Lucinda must have been having a bad night. There were few smiles on stag has she run through her set list. Frankly I enjoyed the band playing without her more.
