Round Up by arrangement with Live Nation present

LUCINDA WILLIAMS

THURSDAY OCTOBER 8, 2015 – Round Up by arrangement with Live Nation is thrilled to announce one of America’s finest singer-songwriters, LUCINDA WILLIAMS will head to New Zealand for one show only, playing Auckland’s Vector Arena on Friday December 4.

It’s been three years since the immensely talented Lucinda Williams graced our shores and we’re honoured to welcome the three-time Grammy Award winner back to New Zealand for a one-off intimate performance. Renowned for marrying rock, blues, country and soul, Lucinda heads our way, with stellar band in tow; including Wallflowers guitarist Stuart Mathis and her irreplaceable rhythm section, David Sutton on bass and Butch Norton on drums.

Tickets for this one-off performance will go on sale at midday Monday, October 12.

My Live Nation and Southern Fork members can be among the first to secure tickets during the pre-sales commencing at midday tomorrow, Friday October 9.

For complete tour and ticketing details, visit: www.livenation.co.nz.

With a recording career spanning 12 albums and nearing four decades, Lucinda Williams is touring on the back of her brilliant 2014 double-album release, Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone, which was voted Album of the Year at the 14th Annual Americana Awards last month.

The album includes 20 new songs with all but two of the tracks written solely by 62-year-old Williams. From the very personal ‘Compassion’ penned by her poet father, Miller Williams and sung into being by Lucinda, to the closing, beautifully epic rendition of JJ Cale’s ‘Magnolia’; Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone is testament to Lucinda’s prowess.

Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone joins a distinguished discography including 1978 debut Ramblin’ on My Mind, 1988’s eponymous breakthrough, Lucinda Williams and 1998’s landmark Car Wheels On A Gravel Road.

  • I Thought Lucinda's Show was Great!

by DStoner on 8/14/18Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheatre - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

Lucinda showed grit and class with her show Saturday night! Her band, especially the lead guitar player was awesome. Some of her songs had a real good dance groove. Steve Earle and Dwight Yoakam were great too!

  • Great Concert Venue

by LaineyinSC on 8/14/18Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheatre - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

Concert venue was awesome! Dwight was amazing!! Steve and Lucinda needed to leave politics out! Lucinda was obviously intoxicated! But, Dwight Y put on an amazing concert!!!

Good sound for Steve Earle and Lucinda Williams. Terrible sound for Dwight Yokam.

  • LSD Tour

by JSP03 on 8/14/18Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheatre - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

Dwight Yoakam put on a awesome show. It was worth the wait, if he had gone on first I would have left after his performance. I thought that Williams and Earl where terrible then to top it off they had to throw politics into what was suppose to be a wonderful evening.

great sets by all three artists and definitely worth the price of admission.

Dwight Yoakam good as ever , Steve Earle was great , Leg King A up and coming band to watch , Lucinda Willams seemed A little off but still good

  • Lucinda Williams was unforgettable(horrific).

by Cardusr on 8/13/18Red Hat Amphitheater - RaleighRating: 4 out of 5

The opening act, King Leg was great. Steve Earl put on a good show and performed the near mandatory " Copper Head Road". Dwight Yoakam was , as always...stellar. Lucinda however should refrain from further outings. She was just BAD...very memorably so. She was guided to and from the stage by a "handler" and missed cues and seemed unsure of where she was. Not a fan before and certainly not a convert now. Otherwise a great outing by two legends in a nice venue that was well managed by the host. I would recommend but expect little from LW.

  • NO POLITICS

    by NoPolitics7 on 8/13/18Red Hat Amphitheater - RaleighRating: 2 out of 5

When I go to a concert, I have every expectation that the performers will perform and not discuss politics. I don't care if you are conservative, liberal or whatevet and your opinions from the stage only matter enough to me so that I will never pay to see you again if you talk politics. It is a shame that both Steve Earle and Lucinda Williams had to get political . . . They are off my list to ever see again . . . They would have done well to have been like Dwight and focused on being a performer . . . If I want to hear political comments I will go to a political rally. Thank you very much to Dwight who kept it about the music . . . I will see Dwight again . . But never Steve Earle or Lucinda Williams.

  • Great show!

by Muffypuppy on 8/13/18Red Hat Amphitheater - RaleighRating: 4 out of 5

This was a great event but it could of been better. For some reason the main microphone for the lead singer was not strong enough. The instruments overpowered the vocals. You could not understand what was being sung only mumbling with a understood word here or there. The side mics were much better and if a second person was singing you could hear and understand them. It is always so disappointing when you wait so long for a concert only to be trying soooo hard to hear what is being sung. Tone down those instruments or turn up the vocal microphone! PLEASE!!!

  • Dwight Yoakam is the best live show you will see

    by brian13mc on 8/13/18Red Hat Amphitheater - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

The LSD tour was great from start to finish. The opener, King Leg, is a must see if you have never seen him. Great songs and great band. Obviously, they saved the best for last with Dwight Yoakam closing the show.

  • Lucinda great, Dwight awesome, Steve Earle shut up

    by JTB33 on 8/13/18Red Hat Amphitheater - RaleighRating: 4 out of 5

The show was great besides Steve Earle going on a political rant which I don't care about his politics and I'm sure he doesn't care about mine. I went to see Dwight and Lucinda and set through Steve E. just because he was part of the show. That's why he can't sell out small venues anymore because I went earlier this year because it had been a long time since I had seen him. He should get a hint when the crowd ( I would guess 5% cheered for his bull crap about politics and rich people which he is one, hypocrite. Besides that I enjoyed the experience, they need to get a better variety of food, very limited selection.

  • Dwight was awesome, the venue not so much

by CsMamaw on 8/13/18Red Hat Amphitheater - RaleighRating: 3 out of 5

Bought the tickets to see Dwight. Steve Earle was OK, and Lucinda William's was not our cup of tea. Unfortunately, by the time Dwight came on, security was allowing people to come down from the back and stand in the aisles which totally blocked our view. They moved them back once but within minutes more came down. A guy in front of us complained and security just walked up the aisle and had them scoot over but, again, as soon as they were past, the crowd just came back. I would like to see Dwight again in another venue and different artists. We will not be going back to the Red Hat Amphitheater.

  • Great show why make it political?

by Waterdogjack on 8/13/18Red Hat Amphitheater - RaleighRating: 4 out of 5

All three shows were great. Just don't get why Steve Earle has to make Trump comments to try to stir up anger. We go to concerts to hear music, not to find out the artist's political stances. And if you are going to make political statements just grunting out hatred is pathetic. You'd think an artist would be more creative. And I would say the same thing if Kanye was grunting out pro-Trump nonsense. I'm just tired of people thinking that they should inundate me with their views. I bought a ticket because I love the music those three have created, not because of their political views.

  • Lucinda rocks

by jkalnits on 8/13/18Red Hat Amphitheater - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

Lucinda Williams was wonderful. She and Steve Earle were fantastic. Why was Dwight Yokum part of this. It was clear he is not a team player.

  • Opening acts almost killed the show

by nathanspooh on 8/13/18Red Hat Amphitheater - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

The headliner Dwight Yoakam was as great as expected!!! I could not have been happier. However I am disappointed in the choice of opening acts. I had never heard of Lucinda Williams or Steve Earl. I hate that I my husband and I had to endure them to wait and see Dwight. I do not enjoy spending premium money for a concert to get a break from the world only to hear their opinions on politics. If I wanted that I would have stayed home and watched the news. If I had known I would have skipped all together and hopped for him another time with out them.

  • Terrific show!

by gregpatrick on 8/13/18Red Hat Amphitheater - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

Steve Earle, Lucinda Williams, and Dwight Yoakam were all fantastic and all three had amazing guitar players.

  • Venue 5 star; sound system 1 star

by DrSubSailor on 8/13/18Red Hat Amphitheater - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

The venuevoperationally was superior. The sound system was absolutely horribly. Too loud, and so loud that the essence of the music was ruined. Yoakam was painful. Williams not quite as bad. Earle was the best of the three. Yoakam tried to made up for the horrible sound system by the sequined outfits and his much tired dance leg move. It’s all sad because this should have been a fantastic show with great Music in each acts reportoire.

  • Not much of Lucinda Williams

    by Ncgirl63 on 8/13/18Red Hat Amphitheater - RaleighRating: 3 out of 5

The concert was mainly the other groups and not much of Lucinda Williams.

  • Heat Venue

    by Daryl146 on 8/13/18Red Hat Amphitheater - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

Red Hat Amphitheatre is a great venue and well done. Easy parking across the street as well. As for the LSD tour, the opening band “King Leg” were awesome, Steve Earl was just noise, Lucinda Willams was awful, and of course Dwight was off the charts great!!

  • Did Not Need The Politics from Steve Earle

by RockerRollerDude on 8/13/18Red Hat Amphitheater - RaleighRating: 1 out of 5

I went from enjoying the show to be annoyed once Steve Earle started with the politics. Mr Earl has a right to preach his politics and I have a right to never go to one of his concerts or buy his music again. Politics in the known music is fine, but to preach your stuff to me is a no-no. Too bad Lucinda Williams and Dwight Yoakam were on the same bill. I otherwise enjoyed their performances.
