Round Up by arrangement with Live Nation present

LUCINDA WILLIAMS

THURSDAY OCTOBER 8, 2015 – Round Up by arrangement with Live Nation is thrilled to announce one of America’s finest singer-songwriters, LUCINDA WILLIAMS will head to New Zealand for one show only, playing Auckland’s Vector Arena on Friday December 4.

It’s been three years since the immensely talented Lucinda Williams graced our shores and we’re honoured to welcome the three-time Grammy Award winner back to New Zealand for a one-off intimate performance. Renowned for marrying rock, blues, country and soul, Lucinda heads our way, with stellar band in tow; including Wallflowers guitarist Stuart Mathis and her irreplaceable rhythm section, David Sutton on bass and Butch Norton on drums.

Tickets for this one-off performance will go on sale at midday Monday, October 12.

My Live Nation and Southern Fork members can be among the first to secure tickets during the pre-sales commencing at midday tomorrow, Friday October 9.

For complete tour and ticketing details, visit: www.livenation.co.nz.

With a recording career spanning 12 albums and nearing four decades, Lucinda Williams is touring on the back of her brilliant 2014 double-album release, Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone, which was voted Album of the Year at the 14th Annual Americana Awards last month.

The album includes 20 new songs with all but two of the tracks written solely by 62-year-old Williams. From the very personal ‘Compassion’ penned by her poet father, Miller Williams and sung into being by Lucinda, to the closing, beautifully epic rendition of JJ Cale’s ‘Magnolia’; Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone is testament to Lucinda’s prowess.

Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone joins a distinguished discography including 1978 debut Ramblin’ on My Mind, 1988’s eponymous breakthrough, Lucinda Williams and 1998’s landmark Car Wheels On A Gravel Road.

  • Love Luconda

by joseywales77 on 8/15/18Ascend Amphitheater part of the Journeys Concert Series - NashvilleRating: 4 out of 5

The only critique i can offer is that I would have loved to see and hear more from each act. I love Lucinda and I am a fan of Steve and Dwight. I really enjoyed all three! This was my fiorst time to see Dwight live and I was not disappointed. The venue was wonderful and for an August evening in Nashille, it was very pleasant. We were very lucky with the weather.

I would never go see her again. I go to concerts to listen to music not listen to their political views.

  • Mixed Review

by Missark on 8/15/18Ascend Amphitheater part of the Journeys Concert Series - NashvilleRating: 4 out of 5

First, the Ascend is a great place to watch music! The S and D part of the show was excellent - Steve Earle and Dwight Yoakum played the hits and the sound was great, the L part not so much. Lucinda said she "was not feeling the crowd" encouraged fans to come to the stage - had I been on that front row I would have been pissed - she needed to connect with the audience! Really, you can't bring your best every night without fans rushing the stage??? OK so everyone has an off night, but this is a review of what happened at that show. Note: I go to a concert to escape the drama of the day, I respect and admire performers taking a stand for things they believe in via social media, endorsement, etc but DON'T do it to an audience that has paid to hear music - we are not at a political rally, we are at a concert!

  • Dwight Yoakum has a new fan!

by Retailchick on 8/15/18Ascend Amphitheater part of the Journeys Concert Series - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

I was up for seeing a little of Dwight Yoakum but really was much more interested in Lucinda Williams and Steve Earle. Big fan of both and have seen each of them before. Lucinda made an effort to connect with the audience but could not. Her performance was disappointing but Dwight Yoakum made it worth staying. He has a new fan!

  • Sit down crowd and security kill gig

by Johnybegoode on 8/15/18Ascend Amphitheater part of the Journeys Concert Series - NashvilleRating: 2 out of 5

Having seen the previous2 fabulous LSD tour dates, we expected Nashville to be even better with its wild, country loving reputation. But early on it was evident that wouldnt happen. Bo one stood for Steve Earles Galway Girl, a few stood for Copperhead Road.So different to Charlotte. Lucinda tried, noted a problem and invited us down to the front. Security quickly squashed that. Peopke clambered to their feet at the start of Dwight but soon sat, then significant numbers started leaving half way through. The bands played as well, but something killed it. No chemistry. Such a shame, Nashville missed out on the buzz that was there in Raleigh and Charlotte

  • Dwight Yoakam is always Great!!!!

by SteveFury on 8/15/18Ascend Amphitheater part of the Journeys Concert Series - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Dwight Yoakam is always Great!!! Lucinda Williams not so much. A sour, bitter individual who is a real chore to listen too. I mean it was an endurance test and she went for far to long taking away from more time with Dwight. I don't want to disparage and artist but there was not a single happy or even catchy tune in her whole set. Won't make that mistake again.

  • Lucinda Williams was boring

by Onemoretry1 on 8/15/18Ascend Amphitheater part of the Journeys Concert Series - NashvilleRating: 1 out of 5

Terrible. Steve Earl and Dwight Yoakam were AMAZING.

  • THREE TOP SHOWS

by MStub on 8/15/18Ascend Amphitheater part of the Journeys Concert Series - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

The LSD tour was fantastic. All three stars were superb. I was pleasantly surprised at just how good Steve was. Dwight showed his top star quality. Lucinda, well Lucinda is the very best at what she does and Sunday she did it well! The show was like getting three shows in one-wow! I was also impressed with many of the musicians that backed the stars,

  • Does Nashville not have a sound board operator?

by TNesee on 8/15/18Ascend Amphitheater part of the Journeys Concert Series - NashvilleRating: 3 out of 5

The mixing and sound quality for this event were of a level expected in a high school auditorium production. The artists were visibly affected, and the numerous comments and conversations I’ve had reflected the same. I don’t know if that’s a venue or artist issue, but it seemed to surprise everyone—and persist. Also, Lucinda Williams was incoherent, reading her lyrics from a music stand, and babbling to the audience. Dwight Yoakam was tight, and Steve Earle exactly what a Steve Earle fan would hope for, but I wouldn’t take a free ticket to see Lucinda Williams again. It was a lovely night in Nashville. Too bad the artists and the tech crew didn’t fully honor it.

  • Dwight is amazing! Then other 2 are NPR-Country-mu

by JayStemple on 8/15/18Ascend Amphitheater part of the Journeys Concert Series - NashvilleRating: 1 out of 5

I just wish Dwight would tour alone instead of with the other big mouths

  • Dwight’s mix

by ForrestGrump on 8/15/18Ascend Amphitheater part of the Journeys Concert Series - NashvilleRating: 3 out of 5

I am pretty sure Dwight Yoakams mix was the worst sound I’ve ever heard at a concert. Had to move closer to be able to tolerate all the midrange and lack of bass. Dissapointed, we left early.

Dwight was the best. Enjoyed Lucinda . Steve Earle ruined the night by being political and cussing repeatedly. If I wanted to hear political stuff I would have saved my money, stayed home and watched cable news! Just wanted to enjoy awesome live music

  • Disappointed in Lucinda

by BarMar on 8/14/18Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheatre - CharlotteRating: 4 out of 5

Went to concert mainly to see her. Really disappointed in her playset.

Dwight Yoakam was great. The other acts were awful absolutely terrible. Lucinda Williams is horrible.

  • Dwight Yoakam is the best live show you will see

by brian13mc on 8/14/18Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheatre - CharlotteRating: 4 out of 5

The LSD tour was fantastic. King Leg kicked off the show and Dwight Yoakam was the highlight of the evening. Lucinda and Steve Earle were great as well.

  • LSD Tour

by Connsmama on 8/14/18Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheatre - CharlotteRating: 4 out of 5

Dwight Yoakam was awesome, very professional, went from one song to the next and kept us wanting more. Steve Earle is a great song writer/performer and put on a good show. Lucinda was a disappointment and appeared drunk(or maybe she took the LSD a little too seriously) She's an amazing song writer and artist but this was crap! Also, way too long between the 3 artists sets!

  • Steve Earle stole the LSD!!

by Spineful1 on 8/14/18Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheatre - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

LSD ... as in Lucinda Williams, Steve Earle, and Dwight Yoakam at the Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheater. After an open by King Leg (very great), Steve and The Dukes ran away with the show! Lucinda was subdued, sober in every sense of the word, but excellent. Dwight had to stop mid-song and lecture the sound crew. He remained clearly pissed and flew through his hour-long set with barely a breath between songs (although this observation has been noted in reviews of other performances on this tour). Stage set was psychedelic cool but the lights were a little distracting. Very professionally run venue -- easy in, quick out, very helpful staff and security. But who knew I would ever drink a $13 Yuengling?
