THURSDAY OCTOBER 8, 2015 – Round Up by arrangement with Live Nation is thrilled to announce one of America’s finest singer-songwriters, LUCINDA WILLIAMS will head to New Zealand for one show only, playing Auckland’s Vector Arena on Friday December 4.
It’s been three years since the immensely talented Lucinda Williams graced our shores and we’re honoured to welcome the three-time Grammy Award winner back to New Zealand for a one-off intimate performance. Renowned for marrying rock, blues, country and soul, Lucinda heads our way, with stellar band in tow; including Wallflowers guitarist Stuart Mathis and her irreplaceable rhythm section, David Sutton on bass and Butch Norton on drums.
Tickets for this one-off performance will go on sale at midday Monday, October 12.
My Live Nation and Southern Fork members can be among the first to secure tickets during the pre-sales commencing at midday tomorrow, Friday October 9.

With a recording career spanning 12 albums and nearing four decades, Lucinda Williams is touring on the back of her brilliant 2014 double-album release, Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone, which was voted Album of the Year at the 14th Annual Americana Awards last month.
The album includes 20 new songs with all but two of the tracks written solely by 62-year-old Williams. From the very personal ‘Compassion’ penned by her poet father, Miller Williams and sung into being by Lucinda, to the closing, beautifully epic rendition of JJ Cale’s ‘Magnolia’; Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone is testament to Lucinda’s prowess.
Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone joins a distinguished discography including 1978 debut Ramblin’ on My Mind, 1988’s eponymous breakthrough, Lucinda Williams and 1998’s landmark Car Wheels On A Gravel Road.

Lucinda was fantastic. Best she's sounded in years. Dwight and Steve were top notch too!
I came across it at Chastain on Thursday, and it was genuine Lucinda. Seems she's mourned her father, promoted GHOSTS of HWY 20 and DOWN WHERE THE SPIRIT MEETS THE BONE, and is ready to rock the oldies with her friends, and she did a great job. Yes, it's a long way to the top if you wanna rock and roll, and Lucinda has come a long way.
I went for Dwight Yoakam. Steve and Lucinda, I didn’t know much about. The sound at the venue seemed off. Hard to hear as the music was distorted. Dwight was incredible live.
Lucinda Willams rocked this show along with Steve Earle and Dwight Yoakam. I knew it was going to be good but it was great! The entertainment they brought rally has the crowd into it.
Lucinda could not find a note with a map.Off key and voice dropping in and out.She appeared drunk.Slurring speach between songs, having stage hands escort her to different areas of the stage, having to read all the words from a song sheet. After finale,Dwight had to even help her off stage.
Great show! Everything I expected. Steve Earle and Dwight Yoakam were excellent.
Dwight Yoakam was wonderful. Lucinda Williams did a good job too. Steve Earle was awful! I wouldn’t go back to a free concert to see him.
Dwight Yoakam was great as always, but he didn’t sing my favorite song which was a bit of a letdown. I was not a fan of Lucinda Williams at all. I actually found her voice to be quite off-putting plus her music sounded monotone and every song sounded the same.
Four acts are too many for one concert. We came to see Dwight and he didn't come on stage until after 10 PM. If I had known this I never would have purchased tickets. Still love him, but this was too much!
Lucinda appeared to be under the influence of some substance and her performance suffered.
I was so looking forward to seeing Lucinda Williams. It was disappointing how she put no effort into connecting with the audience. On some level, it seemed as though she was not well. If that's the case, I have compassion; however, it would be best to not perform.
We attended the LSD tour and assumed that Lucinda was the opening act. We were surprised when it actually was Steve Earle, who incidentally was incredible! Lucinda came out to share a song, missed her cue, then finished be singing off key. She then had to be be escorted off the stage. When Lucinda's set came up, she just did not deliver. She sounded drunk or something. Her last two songs were good though. Despite her lack of delivery, her band was solid. All in all, Lucinda Williams is an artist I've looked forward to seeing for a long time but she left me very disappointed. Fortunately, Steve Earle and Dwight Yoakam more than delivered.
I love Dwight Yoakam! He didn’t disappoint! His music and vocals make me happy! His opening band King Leg was also totally awesome. I have found a new favorite to sing along to on my commutes. The other two main acts on the bill Steve Earle and Lucinda Williams are not as well known to me but at first it didn’t matter since I like folk music and figured there was enough country music there to be a fun time. I was wrong. What was unpleasant and unenjoyable was their insistence on bringing their politics into the act. If I had known that Steve and Lucinda were so inclined to stand on their soap boxes I may have have considered waiting until Dwight was touring by himself. I get that singers use their platform and have the right to say what they want. However I paid to be entertained that night not have two old, pudgy singers stand there being totally grumpy and play almost begrudgingly.
Lucinda has really polished her act. I loved it from start to finish, sound was great the venue was wonderful weather was nice and enjoyed the evening very much. Steve Earle opened the show and got things off to a great start, perhaps the best part of the show. Lucinda was again top of her game. Dwight Yoakam closed the show to great applause enjoyed the whole thing!
Disappointed by her consistently dull 1:30 a.m. in the lounge song choices. Steve Earle opened, rocked it with some great musicians, a woman who sounding a little like Emmy Lou and was a virtuoso, and the best drummer of the night. Earle started a fire that Lucinda threw water on and nearly put out, with her succession of sleepy depressing songs. Couple of songs, yes..concert NO. Dwight Yoakam closed and saved the night and knew how to build enthusiasm song after song, including Pretty Horses. Great venue.
Loved it! She sounded great and loved the choice of songs.
I’m not much of a country fan but this concert was awesome I knew so many of Steve Earl and Dwight’s songs. Every band was spectacular. What a treat for sure. Lucinda was awesome. Loved the venue perfect evening.
Lucinda and Steve were knock out good, or maybe them combined with the edible! Dwight was cool, like a Vegas show with out leaving Southern Cal.
Lucinda’s band is totally awesome, musically tight. Lucinda had a mesmerizing voice made awesome by her band
All the bands were amazing, I recommend you go see this show
