Round Up by arrangement with Live Nation present

LUCINDA WILLIAMS

THURSDAY OCTOBER 8, 2015 – Round Up by arrangement with Live Nation is thrilled to announce one of America’s finest singer-songwriters, LUCINDA WILLIAMS will head to New Zealand for one show only, playing Auckland’s Vector Arena on Friday December 4.

It’s been three years since the immensely talented Lucinda Williams graced our shores and we’re honoured to welcome the three-time Grammy Award winner back to New Zealand for a one-off intimate performance. Renowned for marrying rock, blues, country and soul, Lucinda heads our way, with stellar band in tow; including Wallflowers guitarist Stuart Mathis and her irreplaceable rhythm section, David Sutton on bass and Butch Norton on drums.

Tickets for this one-off performance will go on sale at midday Monday, October 12.

My Live Nation and Southern Fork members can be among the first to secure tickets during the pre-sales commencing at midday tomorrow, Friday October 9.

For complete tour and ticketing details, visit: www.livenation.co.nz.

With a recording career spanning 12 albums and nearing four decades, Lucinda Williams is touring on the back of her brilliant 2014 double-album release, Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone, which was voted Album of the Year at the 14th Annual Americana Awards last month.

The album includes 20 new songs with all but two of the tracks written solely by 62-year-old Williams. From the very personal ‘Compassion’ penned by her poet father, Miller Williams and sung into being by Lucinda, to the closing, beautifully epic rendition of JJ Cale’s ‘Magnolia’; Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone is testament to Lucinda’s prowess.

Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone joins a distinguished discography including 1978 debut Ramblin’ on My Mind, 1988’s eponymous breakthrough, Lucinda Williams and 1998’s landmark Car Wheels On A Gravel Road.

  • LSD Trip Tour delivers evening of great music

by GrinReaper on 8/19/18The Chicago Theatre - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

From start to finish —- opener King Leg to a finale featuring all of the headliners — the event showcased stellar performances and wall-to-wall hits! Excellent venue. My only complaint is that there was powerful, hot backlighting that was blinding for the audience. I go to A LOT of concerts and I don’t understand this trend for strong backlighting. It’s incredibly annoying to patrons and I was seeing spots for quite sometime (please take note LDs).

  • Lucinda Williams/Steve Earle

    by Caseman32 on 8/19/18The Chicago Theatre - ChicagoRating: 2 out of 5

Acoustics were great at Chicago Theatr, but Lucinda had trouble hitting some notes and both her and Earle felt it was important to inject some political commentary into their performances. They should just stick to the music!

  • 2nd Fiddle

by ExtraSpecialEd on 8/19/18The Chicago Theatre - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

Lucinda was listed as the top bill but ended up as the second act to Dwight Yoakam. Although Dwight was very entertaining, we were not ready for that. Just wondering if the LSD tour changes up the billing from town to town letting a different act headline. Her act was about the length of what one might expect from a festival set. Excellent set list and a few collaborations throughout the entire show with Steve Earl and Dwight Yoakam made for a very good show.

Great show, everything I expected it to be! Hope to see them again.

  • Dwight Yoakam Amazing

    by chigirl753 on 8/19/18The Chicago Theatre - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

Steve Earle was good as always but the show started on time - when everything about this tour said there’s an opening act. Lucinda Williams was awful and didn’t even play any of her popular songs like can’t let go.

  • Loved Dwight

by Bluewire on 8/19/18The Chicago Theatre - ChicagoRating: 3 out of 5

I loved going to the Chicago Theater and seeing Dwight:). I wasn’t so crazy about Lucinda. If she was recovering from a medical issue she should have shared that with the audience. I suspect recovering from a stroke but I’m not sure. If that’s the case, God bless her. Lucinda and Earl should leave Trump out of entertainment I didnt go there to hear their opinion about the wall.

  • Mixed

by Craighere on 8/19/18The Chicago Theatre - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Dwight was his usual outstanding self!! King Leg was a great surprise (reminded me of The Mavericks)! Steve Earle was good. Lucinda was boring...but I am sure her fans thought she was good. Her place in the show took up waaay too much time and brought it down.

  • Mostly great event

by Dragonjo on 8/18/18Ascend Amphitheater part of the Journeys Concert Series - NashvilleRating: 4 out of 5

King Leg was very good. Steve Earl enjoyable. Dwight was great as usual but too short of a set. He should have left Lucinda at home and done more himself. She seemed to be wasted on something and the only saving grace for her was her guitar player, he was awesome and the band as a whole saved her a##.

  • Dwight Yoakum was amazing as always !!

by Townrae on 8/17/18Ascend Amphitheater part of the Journeys Concert Series - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Dwight is the best, always is, Steve was good but I don't want to see Lucinda ever again!!!

  • Lucinda Williams

by Jamiek56 on 8/17/18Ascend Amphitheater part of the Journeys Concert Series - NashvilleRating: 3 out of 5

Thought Dwight was awesome... wish his segment was longer. Steve Earl also did a great job. Lucinda was marginal. I realize her brilliance as a poet/songwriter but her song choice was 50/50 ( compared to some of her other songs) and she sang poorly. Most of my friends suspected she was drunk. Sorry Lucinda....

  • Was Lucinda on LSD???

    by nonamez13 on 8/16/18Uptown Ampitheater - Charlotte, NCRating: 1 out of 5

I went to this show to see one of America's great acts...Dwight Yoakam. Unfortunately I had to put up with a foul mouthed, disheveled hateful Communist in Steve Earle and a drunk(?#, babbling, incoherent awful Artist #and I use that term loosely) named Lucinda Williams. How she has ever received notoriety and fame as a singer/songwriter is a mystery only the Twilight Zone can answer. She was a stumbling mess who didn't even know the words to her own songs, unfortunately for the audience they were written down and she sung them from a notepad. If only the notepad was lost I could have been saved from her inane voice, bad lyrics and stumbling performance. The last time I heard an act this bad was in 8th grade at my schools talent show. It figures she gets praise from NPR. If I could only have the time back that was stolen by her act I would watch grass grow, it would be much more enjoyable. Dwight was awesome but he seemed a little annoyed, possibly because he has to share a tour with the train wreck known as Lucinda Williams.

The venue was great! Lucinda Williams was terrible! If she would have performed last, I would have left during her first song. Everyone else was terrific!

  • This was a fun show all around!

by dontwant2beapie on 8/15/18Ascend Amphitheater part of the Journeys Concert Series - NashvilleRating: 4 out of 5

This was a fun show! The weather was great, there was a nice breeze coming off the river and the crowd was really into the show. It started off with Steve Earle, and this crowd was all about him! Then Lucinda Williams took the stage. Her unique style really resonated with the crowd as well and you could certainly see why she's a three-time Grammy winner. Lastly, Dwight Yoakam took the stage, doing all of his hits. By then, the crowd was on its feet, dancing and really celebrating the night so it was a good time all around! If this tour comes to a town near you, go check it out!

  • Lucinda Williams must have been drunk!!!

by LittleRocker65 on 8/15/18Ascend Amphitheater part of the Journeys Concert Series - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Slow moving set. Lucinda was slurring her words. The worst set of the tour

  • by Anonymous on 8/15/18Ascend Amphitheater part of the Journeys Concert Series - NashvilleRating: 4 out of 5

It was a sad concert, Lucinda Williams and Steve Earle acted and sounded like they were stoned, she couldn't get her timing right at all. Dwight didn't come out until 10:00 and was done by 10:45, he didn't have time to do all his songs. The show started at 6:30 and like I said Dwight didn't come out until 10:00. The audience was leaving early.

  • Lucinda and Dwight were awesome!!

by BillyChapel on 8/15/18Ascend Amphitheater part of the Journeys Concert Series - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Lucinda Williams and Dwight Yoakam were fantastic. Steve Earle started bashing President Trump early on so I just tuned him out and waited for the main acts.

  • Dwight is awesome, Lucinda was horrible!

by bigAsports on 8/15/18Ascend Amphitheater part of the Journeys Concert Series - NashvilleRating: 2 out of 5

Dwight Yokum was fantastic!! Lucinda sounded as if she took 10 oxy’s and a bottle of whiskey before she took the stage. I was disappointed in the horrible language from Steve Earle!! Brought my young daughters to see Dwight. Lucinda and Steve Earle ruined the show for me.

  • Lucinda Williams was terrible

by Nats1rf on 8/15/18Ascend Amphitheater part of the Journeys Concert Series - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

She was drunk and blubbering the whole time. She was off pitch. Steve Earle, who opened for her, mumbled the whole time and you could barely hear him singing over the music. Dwight Yoakum was awesome! You could understand him and he sounded great! He should drop them from the tour!

  • A must see!

by JEB79 on 8/15/18Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheatre - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

4 solid hours of entertainment. I am buying tickets soon for the October 2018 show in Warren, OH. Need I say more?

  • Dwight AMAZING

by Dwightcrazy on 8/15/18Ascend Amphitheater part of the Journeys Concert Series - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Opening act was great! Steve was good, Lucinda not so much. She seemed drunk or high not sure which one, she was having to look at her lyrics a lot. Dwight was well worth the wait!! Wished he would have played longer!! He still has it! He is the only one who had the crowd standing and dancing etc. Will go see him again and again!!
