Round Up by arrangement with Live Nation present

LUCINDA WILLIAMS

THURSDAY OCTOBER 8, 2015 – Round Up by arrangement with Live Nation is thrilled to announce one of America’s finest singer-songwriters, LUCINDA WILLIAMS will head to New Zealand for one show only, playing Auckland’s Vector Arena on Friday December 4.

It’s been three years since the immensely talented Lucinda Williams graced our shores and we’re honoured to welcome the three-time Grammy Award winner back to New Zealand for a one-off intimate performance. Renowned for marrying rock, blues, country and soul, Lucinda heads our way, with stellar band in tow; including Wallflowers guitarist Stuart Mathis and her irreplaceable rhythm section, David Sutton on bass and Butch Norton on drums.

Tickets for this one-off performance will go on sale at midday Monday, October 12.

My Live Nation and Southern Fork members can be among the first to secure tickets during the pre-sales commencing at midday tomorrow, Friday October 9.

For complete tour and ticketing details, visit: www.livenation.co.nz.

With a recording career spanning 12 albums and nearing four decades, Lucinda Williams is touring on the back of her brilliant 2014 double-album release, Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone, which was voted Album of the Year at the 14th Annual Americana Awards last month.

The album includes 20 new songs with all but two of the tracks written solely by 62-year-old Williams. From the very personal ‘Compassion’ penned by her poet father, Miller Williams and sung into being by Lucinda, to the closing, beautifully epic rendition of JJ Cale’s ‘Magnolia’; Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone is testament to Lucinda’s prowess.

Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone joins a distinguished discography including 1978 debut Ramblin’ on My Mind, 1988’s eponymous breakthrough, Lucinda Williams and 1998’s landmark Car Wheels On A Gravel Road.

  • Awesome Experience

by Shelley on 9/21/22Whitaker Center - HarrisburgRating: 5 out of 5

Lucinda rocked!! She was amazing. At 69 and sporting her chucks! Her voice is still amazing!

  • Lucinda still kills it !

I was super impressed with her performance since her health issues. Love her manner of story telling. She so genuinely humble. Keep it up girl !

  • One of the GOATS

by Brute on 9/21/22Whitaker Center - HarrisburgRating: 5 out of 5

Lucinda Williams is a legendary country, folk, rock, blues singer songwriter. Williams, who had a stroke about a year ago, had to be escorted onstage and is yet unable to play her guitar. But her voice was amazing, her rapport with an adoring audience was palpable, moving and funny. Despite her recent health issues, she and her terrific band, Buick 6, knocked out a powerful and virtually flawless set for an hour and 45 minutes, no break. Williams even made her way back in stage to a riotous standing O and said simply: “Thank you for being such a wonderful audience. We’re gonna play a few more.” What a great show by a fantastic performer.

  • Lucinda with Bonnie Raitt Tour

    by C. K. Durham on 6/8/22Rating: 5 out of 5

Lucinda with B6 was the special guest band opening for Bonnie. Lu sounded fantastic, we have seen her many times, but this was really great. Her voice was strong and she was stoked to be touring, as was Bonnie. Bonnie's new songs are wonderful. 2 legendary women in a great venue in Durham NC, DPac.

  • Was great to see Lu again

by Firecracker on 5/3/22House of Blues New Orleans - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

We are long time Lucinda fans and really enjoy shows at House of Blues venues. Was a real treat seeing her in Crescent City where so much of her material comes from.

  • Great seats and an awesome performance

by Kiwi Joe on 5/2/22House of Blues New Orleans - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

To see the guys she displayed to give such an emotional performance was unforgettable.

  • Loved Lucinda, HOB sound not so much.

by S. B. on 5/2/22House of Blues New Orleans - New OrleansRating: 3 out of 5

Loved seeing Lucinda put it all out there but the sound was horrible. Kept moving around to try to hear better but you couldn't understand anything she said she talked to the audience. Sound was muffled. Very disappointed in that since the last time I saw her here sound was awesome. And we paid for the VIP upgrade but didn't stay in those seats trying to hear better.

  • Was such a great time

We enjoyed our night, she was amazing. So glad I got to see her in town.

  • Great show in Ann Arbor!

by Dan R on 4/11/22Michigan Theater - Ann ArborRating: 5 out of 5

She may have had a stroke (right hemisphere), but I’ve never heard Lucinda sing better. The band was fantastic, especially Stuart Mathis on guitar. Set list included: Steal Your Love Car Wheels on a Gravel Road 2 Kool 2 Be 4-Gotten Drunken Angel Lake Charles Blue Out of Touch Are You Down Fruits of My Labor Righteously Joy Honeybee Big Black Train Pray the Devil Back to Hell Hang Up My Rock & Roll Shoes

  • Best show I’ve ever seen!

    by T on 4/11/22Michigan Theater - Ann ArborRating: 5 out of 5

Lucinda Williams was impeccably perfect this night. The crowd felt like family and the sound was absolutely phenomenal! It was my first Lu concert live and my first trip to The Michigan Theater. I will return again and highly recommend both a live concert by Lucinda Williams (her band was incredible as well!) and I will definitely be back to Ann Arbor to The Michigan Theater again.

  • Out of tune

by Rags on 4/11/22Michigan Theater - Ann ArborRating: 2 out of 5

To begin, we had terrible seats. We were seated behind the sound board and the operator was standing up. We couldn’t see the band.. That in conjunction with the out of tune performance caused us to leave after the 3rd song. It was very disappointing. I have been a long time fan of Lucindas.

  • Lucinda, an icon but also "just folks"

by SometimeCritic on 4/11/22Michigan Theater - Ann ArborRating: 5 out of 5

Lucinda's internal focus and delivery worked perfectly in this relatively small venue. I felt I was right there with her. She is not just a great musician but a great poet. Her band is amazing and she really lets them show off their stuff. One suggestion: she might discuss her stroke just a little bit. Us fans know, and to others it might be apparent, but it might relax everyone if she had a little banter about it. She is one of the few pop stars whose between-songs banter is actually enjoyable.

  • Stellar

by OG Lu Fan on 4/11/22Michigan Theater - Ann ArborRating: 5 out of 5

Lucinda sounded better than ever. We're looking forward to seeing her next time she comes to town, or taking a road trip to see her elsewhere.

  • Sad

by Dogface on 2/27/22Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra BeachRating: 2 out of 5

Was not prepared to see the great Lucinda Williams in the condition that she was in post stroke. She had to be assisted to the stage, looking to be disheveled and confused. Her voice was pretty strong but she missed her spot coming into the song a couple of times. She is a great songwriter and singer but she should clearly not be touring right now. The band was tight, especially Stuart Mathis as usual. Apparently, someone feels it more important to have Lu continue grinding out concerts than to focus on her physical condition. We were more sad than disappointed. Please take care of this awesome lady.

  • Great show

by Tom on 2/27/22Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra BeachRating: 5 out of 5

Lucinda put on a terrific show. It was great to see her ability to perform in spite of her physical issues. And her band was awesome. Glad I went. Thank you!

  • Covid safety?

by Stella on 2/27/22Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra BeachRating: 4 out of 5

The requirement to show proof of vaccination is meaningless. A vaccine 3 months ago says nothing about whether a concertgoer has covid. A negative test with 23-36 hours might offer protection to the crowd and artist

  • Wonderful Evening,

by JJ on 2/26/22Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra BeachRating: 5 out of 5

Great night. Seamless entrance. Friendly staff. Good seats. Amazing performances by Lucinda Williams and the Buick 56 Band! Thank you. I won’t forget it!

  • Amazing, as usual

by Steve on 2/26/22Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra BeachRating: 5 out of 5

I can't enough good things about this show. First of all, the venue is awesome. Great acoustics, friendly people. Lucinda is such an inspiration. Her voice sounded great. You could see she was still physically disabled from her stroke, but her coolness and sense of humor were spot on. During the performance, you could see her loosen up and begin to become more animated. I have seen her multiple times, over the years. This one was truly special.

  • Lucinda’s night at Ponte Vedra

by Lipz on 2/26/22Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra BeachRating: 5 out of 5

Been a huge Lucinda fan for years. I feel she is among the best lyricists of all time heightened by her unique melodic singing voice. As an Outlaw Country (Elizabeth Cook) junkie, I did a backflip when one of my favs, Lucinda, was stopping by Jax. The show: Lucinda has gone through life changing challenges; that being said, she touched the fans with candid comments throughout the show. This was emotional and entertaining at the same time. Loved that! Band: ***** purist R&R. Great three-man band. On point!! Lucinda: ***** loved her performance. So happy to see her. Venue: ***** comfortable, parking ease, helpful & friendly volunteers. Go see and support this beautiful lady when possible.

  • Lucinda at ponte vedra concert hall

by Dennyjoyce on 2/26/22Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra BeachRating: 5 out of 5

Great concert. Lucinda still has great voice. Her band is one of the tightest rock bands I have seen. Lead guitar was awesome!!!
