About

MICHAEL FLATLEY’S LORD OF THE DANCE is described by the New York Post as "fascinating, rewarding and above all, entertaining," and by the Los Angeles Times as "a showpiece extravaganza," Lord of the Dance is a mesmerizing blend of traditional and modern Celtic music and dance.  The story is based upon mythical Irish folklore as Don Dorcha, Lord of Darkness, challenges the ethereal lord of light, the Lord of the Dance.  Battle lines are drawn, passions ignite and a love story fueled by the dramatic leaps and turns of dancers’ bodies begins to build against a backdrop of Celtic rhythm.  The action is played out over 21 scenes on a grand scale of precision dancing, dramatic music, colorful costumes and stage-of-the-art staging and lighting.

  • Not as great as the first time

We saw this group 15 years ago and it was stunning. Unfortunately the second time was not as we expected. Too much ballet type performance along with singing was not what we wanted or anticipated. The true celtic dance was appreciated

Out visiting my airman while she was stationed in MD for a little longer and did this as a final event to our time together. It was sooooo awesome and I loved it.

This show was absolutely amazing! This was a birthday gift to my mother but I truly enjoyed it!

  • What was that?

Dancing was wonderful. But the storyline was horrible. The staging distracting. The overt trashy, over worn sex line read like bad porn. Frankly it was insulting. Just dance! The last pieces were fantastic. but cyborgs and hooded evil doers? Oh.and give the wwf it's belt back!

  • Lord of the Dance was painful to watch.

Terrible. It was like a bad Disney show for 3 year olds.

  • Way too cheesy

The storyline part of the show just made the experience feel cheesy. The girls forced grins blonde hairdos were distracting and very creepy. They whole thing seemed like a The Stepford Wives meets Star Wars. The guys definitely had the better part of this deal. The smaller portions of good old fashioned high energy dance that did take place just got lost with the rest of it.

  • Incredible, one of a kind

lTook my new girlfriend to show, she had never watched any videos of the show, before that night. Was blown away. Worth the money.

  • What were they thinking?

Wife was waiting for years to see Lord of the Dance, what a painful disappointment this was as it had nothing to do with Irish step dancing, the Irish culture, or Celtic anything. This was Transformers set to bad music and signing and some interesting dancing. The audience was made up of 80 year olds that seemed entertained. I can't get my money back but maybe you can save yours.

  • Lord of the Dance a must see!

Amazing, amazing, amazing!!! Incredible talent. Must see.

  • Plot was poor

by Lynn427 on 10/8/18Sands Bethlehem Event Center - BethlehemRating: 2 out of 5

It was difficult deciphering what the plot was about. It was a cross between... The Transformers, Star Wars and Peter Pan. I didn’t get it.
