  • Livingston Taylor/Karla Bonoff concert in Skokie

by Rosen on 12/9/23Center Theatre at North Shore Center for the Performing Arts - SkokieRating: 5 out of 5

Outstanding concert by two top notch performers. Karla was unknown to me although certainly knew of her songs and Livingston’s piano playing blew me away!

  • Wonderful show

by Suzie on 12/9/23Center Theatre at North Shore Center for the Performing Arts - SkokieRating: 4 out of 5

Livingston Taylor and Karla Bonoff were great. Consummate performers. Bonoff's technical issues at the start of several numbers took too long and her irritation took away from the vibe. Thank goodness for Liv's charm and good humor - rockin' it all night long. Loved the venue and the selection of tunes which were a nice balance of holiday and regular numbers.

  • Off to a good start

by Mary on 12/9/23Center Theatre at North Shore Center for the Performing Arts - SkokieRating: 4 out of 5

A bucket list item to see Karla Bonoff. She is amazing. The three were wonderful. A homey, folky feel. Great songs old and new. The sound was not good for Karla in the first half. The mics she was using only supported singing close into them or the sound was lost. Better diction might help. But I strongly feel they need their own sound engineer who can tour with them. It is ALL important to have that element right. LOVED THE EVENT THE VENUE AND THE PERFORMERS. Legends!

  • Livingston Taylor Fills the Soul

by Cantor on 12/4/23The Vogel at Count Basie Center for the Arts - Red BankRating: 5 out of 5

Mr. Taylor connects with his audience with great music, storytelling, humor, and an appreciation for all in front of him. He is so down to earth which makes all in the audience feel like an old friend. The music tells a story, the lyrics speak to the soul and all feel like an old friend is inviting you to join him on an intimate music and life journey. I hope he continues to perform and fill our hearts with his charm and story telling through song.

  • A comfortable sweater

by TD on 12/3/23The Vogel at Count Basie Center for the Arts - Red BankRating: 5 out of 5

Like finding a sweater worn long ago, comfortable with scent and texture is a Livingston Taylor concert. His story telling and wonderful rifs are as good as the lyrics he’s written over decades. His voice and range may not be the same as 50 years ago but overall a very enjoyable evening was had by all.

I have listened to him in crowded halls and intimate settings. He operates like you are sitting in front of a treasured friend. His friendship with his audience is remarkable. He is a real caring professional. His music touches your soul, his lyrics are unique and his showmanship is exceptional. Ty Mr. Taylor for writing the songs that feed my soul. Love, Grace

  • Livingston Taylor

Great entertainer, great show! Particularly in the Whaling Church, we loved it!

  • Livingston is a Class Act and Vineyard special!

by Sandy on 8/14/23Rating: 5 out of 5

So dear to my heart, I have seen Livingston many times and he always has great music and good wisdom to impart. He is a Master with his guitar and the Taylor voice is so much like James's. Livingston made me feel happy inside. He loves what he does. His mastery of the guitar and piano playing remind me he has taught music for many years. Both are both worth the price of the ticket but he goes above and beyond showcasing his former students. They are both worthy of bigger stages and made us want to follow their already successful careers. While Livingston is older now I will definitely go again next year if he choses to play there.

Great performer. Wonderful guests joined him. Acoustics were spotty, but the overall venue was memorable.
