  • Vogel setup

by Jett on 11/3/24The Vogel at Count Basie Center for the Arts - Red BankRating: 1 out of 5

It was great hearing some of JW'S stories, some not so much. Good to see the person behind the hit songs. When we arrived to our V table on the balcony, it was in front of the poles, blocking our view. Table was setup in the wrong spot, possibly moved by the other table occupants before we arrived, and couldn't be moved to it's correct spot since other tables were moved to our spot already and folks spread their chairs over which squeezed us out. Poor setup causing a bad experience. For that reason I will not be returning.

  • He's way too old to be singing!

by Nancy on 11/2/24The Vogel at Count Basie Center for the Arts - Red BankRating: 1 out of 5

Jimny Webb should stick to just playing the piano and should have his opening act gentleman sing his songs. Jimmy SHOULD NOT BE SINGING! You have to "know when to fold em"He also did WAY too much talking

  • Great

by Muzak on 11/2/24The Vogel at Count Basie Center for the Arts - Red BankRating: 5 out of 5

Bucket list artist that did not disappoint. The stories were almost his greatest music! Highly recommended five stars. Highly record is one of the greatest songwriters ever with multi platinum winning songs.

  • Priceless evening with a legend

by Go for the music and stories on 11/2/24The Vogel at Count Basie Center for the Arts - Red BankRating: 5 out of 5

Right up front, as he freely admits, jimmy webb is not a vocalist. As my wife pointed out, he would not have made the first cut on America's got talent. However, to hear him talk about his music, the stories that shaped his music, and hear him play, you can easily ignore his lack of vocal skills. Do Not go if you expect great singing, you will be disappointed. Go to hear a musician who shaped your musical education 60 years ago

  • Icing on the Cake

by Jimmy B on 2/8/24Tilles Center - Krasnoff Theater - BrookvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Several years ago, a good friend of mine introduced me to the work of Jimmy Webb. I quickly realized that Jimmy had already written a good amount of what had been the songbook of my life...both literally and figuratively. Seeing Jimmy perform was not only a walk down memory lane, but a reminder of the timeless beauty of words and music that was crafted by a gifted songwriter and musician. It was an inspiring evening filled with beauty, truth, and love. I'm grateful for Jimmy and feel fortunate to receive this gift of sharing his life and love of his work.

  • Spending Time with a Legend!

by JTL on 2/7/24Tilles Center - Krasnoff Theater - BrookvilleRating: 5 out of 5

My brother and I are both "baby-boomers"so when we got the chance to see Jimmy Webb in person, it was a no-brainer. One of the greatest songwriters of our generation. We both love hearing "banter"during concerts, and wish performers would do more of it. Well Jimmy Webb gave us the best of both worlds. We loved his music and we really loved his stories. It was a night we will never forget. The only downside to it was the technical issues he had with his presentation, which was not his fault at all. Not sure what the cause was, but it didn't hurt the show too much. However, I'm sure Jimmy Webb was not thrilled. Anyway, an A+ concert/show/presentation. Loved it!

  • Jimmy Webb at The Vogel

by TommyNat on 5/12/23The Vogel at Count Basie Center for the Arts - Red BankRating: 4 out of 5

The Jimmy Webb was very good. Unfortunately seeing a show at the Vogel Theater is not. Can they possibly make the seating any tighter. Long bench type table seating and everyone packed like sardines in a can. Very hard to enjoy a show when your sitting on top of the person next to you. Funny during Covid lots of protocols from The Basie but now it’s like making up for lost revenue…. Pack on as many in as possible.

  • Homage to Glen Campbell

by Wtutz on 5/11/23The Vogel at Count Basie Center for the Arts - Red BankRating: 5 out of 5

I'm not sure what I expected. Fans of Jimmy Webb know that he is not a vocalist, and I didn't expect him to play through his greatest hits (btw, they all are). However, Jimmy gave us 2 solid hours of his music (7 or 8 songs), interspersed with a multi-media homage to Glen Campbell. He would often have a video of Glen singing and then play his piano along with the recording. Jimmy told a lot of great stories about his music and his friendship with Glen Campbell, an all together very, cozy afternoon. While we acknowledge that Jimmy is not the greatest singer, to be in the same room with him while he played and sang "By The Time I Get to Phoenix" was a moment I'll never forget.

Great performance but at the end he appeared tired.

  • Wonderful. Interesting from start to finish.

He’s had such an interesting life and he let us in on just a bit of it. Grateful for him and his talent.
