    East vs West

by Russian Queen on 8/31/21The Loft - Oak Bluffs

The show was absolutely wonderful; Livingston is quite the charming artist. Things to work on for the next show: the doors did not open promptly at 3, the bartender wasn’t there until the show almost began and since the venue itself is for the young, there were no considerations for the elderly crowd on the drink menu. Almost everything was made with Red Bull and there were no garnishes. Know your audience , have a positive attitude even though we are old; and remember we have more money.

    Magical!

by Mociferous on 8/26/19Old Whaling Church - Edgartown

On August 23, 2019 I saw Isaac and Livingston Taylor in the Whaling Church in Edgartown on Martha’s Vineyard, MA. I felt like I was sitting in their living room with a few friends and they were talking and singing just for me. Isaac was such a gentle soul who grew up on the island and loves his wife and kids. And what a beautiful voice! Then Livingston came up on stage to tell his stories through beautiful music. His storytelling method made me anticipate every word. I couldn’t wait for the next story/song. Afterward, Livingston came out front and chatted with the few of us hoping to get a word with him. This was my best two hours on this island thus far!

Outstanding evening with Isaac and Livinston Taylor

by BossDogs on 8/26/19Old Whaling Church - Edgartown

Isaac opened the show with some new and old favorites - Livingston took over and did an outstanding show. The Old Whaling Church is also a special place to attend such a special event.

    Life highlight

by Julie on 8/26/19Old Whaling Church - Edgartown

I’ve loved Livingston Taylor’s music since I was in college in the 60s. His albums dominate my iTunes account. Attending his concert in the Old Whaling Church on Martha’s Vineyard was a life highlight. Thank you for sharing your gifts with us (and it was thrilling to hear you and Isaac perform together!

    Livingston Taylor Concert

by gotribe on 8/8/18Cain Park - Cleveland Heights

In addition tl being a master story teller, musician and singer, Taylor connects with his audience like nobody else we have seen. I am not a "sing along" person, but he hooked me! As always, a great show! I hope he comes back many times. I did not much like the opening singer, Ana DeChant. She has a good voice, but I don't need to be clobbered over the head with her trivial, "first world:" LGBTQ agenda.... I am not opposed to her views at all, just not interested.in being lectured to.

There is a reason he teaches stage performance !

by donbohio on 8/7/18Ludlow Garage Cincinnati - Cincinnati

He still has the voice, music choice and stage presence that he has had since the early 80s. He is still entertaining and relevant today.

    Master Showman

by HtheK on 8/7/18Ludlow Garage Cincinnati - Cincinnati

Liv Taylor once again delivered an engaging and thoroughly enjoyable show. A mixture of old standards arranged in his unique style and his own compositions both showcased his great guitar skill and soothing voice. His running commentary was pleasantly personal and consistently humorous.

    Taylor/Cahpin/Eva - seemed like work

by KLCSB on 1/31/17Cohoes Music Hall - Cohoes

the venue is just wonderful. Not a bad seat in the house but they could use an usher in the balcony. The first singer from Israel had a good voice but it was SO much work to listen to her. I did not intend to see a political rally. She was very depressing and started the show off on a low note. Thankfully - Liv Taylor is so animated - he brought the crowd right back. Eva was wonderful. The voices were outstanding. Tom Chapin was another effort at first but he was not depressing. His piano player was great - big talent. The songs with all of them were great but I did miss seeing Taylor. He sang 2-3 songs alone - but that wasn't enough. I do wish he had some new stuff mixed in.

    excellent show as always

by gotribe on 8/18/13Cain Park - Cleveland Heights

Livingston' s musicianship, originality, and story telling always make for a great show, and this was no exception. This one was - happily -a little longer than usual. He didn't cut his own material short, but he introduced one of his students, Chelsea Berry, who did about four songs solo, then two with him... and all were excellent.

    not just a little brother

by KenD on 6/17/13Union County Performing Arts Center Hamilton Stage - Rahway

second time seeing Livingston (actually the 3rd if you count opening for Jethro Tull when I was in college, except I hardly remember anything about that show). Livingston shares much of the warmth and charm of his brother James. I was smiling for the whole show. He combines his own songs, many of them filled with humor, with his own versions of classic Americana and show tunes. Livingston is a professor at Berkeley College of Music, and is shows in his appreciation for the history of the American song. He is also a wonderful guitar and piano player.

Buskin and Batteau had a terrific first set. Humorous interactions with the crowd. Liv was also excellent. It would be a pleasure to see them again soon

Liv Taylor and Buskin & Batteau were fabulous!

    by emilycat2 on 4/16/11Birchmere - Alexandria

Buskin and Batteau, with Marshal Rosenberg on percussion, opened the show with amazing vocals, instrumentals, percussion-- all blending together, synchronizing beautifully....The songs ranged from comedic (A Folksinger Earns Every Dime) to touching (All in All) and every other shade in between. So beautiful... I should add that they are my absolutely favorite group. Liv Taylor came on and sang with verve and wit. Songs of love working and misfiring meshed well together. Towards the end of his part of the show, Liv sang one of my favorite songs, "What'll I Do?" by Irving Berlin and gave the audience a better understanding of how the song works so well and why. It was terrific!

The best part of these performers is their ability to write textured music and lyrics to accompany that music. Livingston Taylor is truly a master musician, which is probably why he is such a successful teacher at Birklee.

A Wonderful, Fun and Entertaining Evening

by Enofile on 6/14/10Cain Park - Cleveland Heights

What a performer! He really relates to the audience, has a great sense of humor, and does some unusual, yet entertaining pieces. Some are his own, but the ones that aren't he makes his own and you can tell he has a genuine respect for the piece and its composer. His whistling talent is very cool and very rare. It alone is worth the price of admission. The guitar playing is among the best in the world and compares to Kotke, Glass, Keggy and others. He has a more traditional style of playing and makes something very difficult look completely effortless... After the show he interacts with the guests, and yes he treats everyone as a guest, not a ticket buyer. His personality is Mr. Rodgers meets Red Skelton as a musician. I use this analogy because he is animated, fun, and a real artisan who studies his art. Both of the others had that in common and all are true professionals at what they do. If you get a chance to see the show and are looking for and relaxed entertaining weekend, then by all means go to a Livingston Taylor concert.

    JUST A FUN NIGHT OUT

    by CRAIG2248 on 6/14/10CAIN PARK - CLEVELAND,

IT WAS A HOT, HOT CLEVELAND NIGHT, BUT LIVINGSTON WAS COOL. WE SPENT A FUN NIGHT LISTENING TO HIS SONGS AND HIS STORIES. IT WAS A PITY THAT THERE WAS NOT A BIGGER CROWD TO ENUOY THIS TALENTED ENTERTAINER. IF YOU WANT MY OPINION (and I enjoy James Taylor alot) THIS IS THE BROTHER TO SEE. NICE SMALL VENUE. UPCLOSE AND PERSONAL. IT REALLY IS AN EVENING WITH AN OLD FRIEND.

Livington was wonderful - as expected

by gotribe on 6/13/10Cain Park - Cleveland Heights

Some of the same old jokes, and some familiar tunes, but plenty of new music as well. He's a masterful performer, much better in person than recorded
