About

Cameron Mackintosh presents the acclaimed production of Boublil and Schönberg's Tony Award-winning musical phenomenon, Les Misérables. This brilliant staging has taken the world by storm and has been hailed as "a reborn dream of a production" (Daily Telegraph).

Set against the backdrop of 19th century France, Les Misérables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption-a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. The magnificent score of Les Misérables includes the songs "I Dreamed a Dream," "On My Own," "Bring Him Home," "One Day More" and many more.

My daughter and I knew the songs very well but had never seen the play. The play was better than I could’ve imagined! The singing was fantastic and we were engaged throughout the entire show! Highly recommend!

It was everything I expected and more. A couple of nice changes.

  • Fabulous on all levels!

    by Teacher M on 11/26/24Orpheum Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

This production of Les Mis was AMAZING! From the staging to the sets to the quality of the voices, every minute was filled with energy and emotion. My family enjoyed every minute!

  • Poor sight line diminished experience

by Paul on 11/26/24Orpheum Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 3 out of 5

Section MF3 at Orpheum is above stage level, but each row is not high enough above row in front and seats are not offset enough. Normal height people, in next row ahead, block your view as they are almost directly in front and in same sight line as you. I would never pay for a seat in this section again. It was difficult to understand words in a few songs.

  • Absolutely Amazing Show

by Les Mis Mpls on 11/26/24Orpheum Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Once again blown away by this show. I think I can see this show a million times and never get tired of it. This cast was absolutely amazing. The singing was top notch. I was brought to tears so many times as were so many around me. The music and acting were equally beautiful. If I could I would have gone back for multiple performances. Bravo Bravo Bravo.

  • It was ok.

by Mcqjohn on 11/25/24Orpheum Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 3 out of 5

This is the 2nd time I've seen this production. I have been yearning for the 90's production with the rotating stage and top notch performers. This felt more akin to a college musical. This production is fine. The performers were capable. I doubt any of them could carry the role on Broadway. Thenardier was the exception. He was really good. Valjean was a weak performance. The male chorus was quite good. "Drink With Me"was exceptional. There were cheers and applause in the appropriate places, I think more out of habit than gratitude. I won't attend this production again.

  • Awesome

One of the great musicals of all time. The reach, stamina and coordination were an absolute thrill to behold!

  • Amazing show!!!

by Katie on 11/25/24Orpheum Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen Les Mis many times (6-8 times in the past) and it has always been my favorite musical. That being said, this touring group hit it out of the park. Every single performer brought their A game. The vocals were by far the strongest I have ever heard. I was completely blown away by this production. The audience agreed as the applause was thunderous throughout the show. Cannot recommend enough! This is one that should not be missed.

  • The vocals were inspiring

by Jill on 11/25/24Orpheum Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

I was impressed with all of actors The ensemble was amazing with voices from heaven The boy (Jackson Parker Gill) in the play was so endearing that it drew us into the scenes and we looked forward to his appearances The Constables solo mid play shut the house down

  • Great musical

by SheriBlueberry on 11/24/24Orpheum Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 4 out of 5

We were pleased that we could see the stage so well from our seats. The performers were amazing and the musical was well done. The only negative is that occasionally, when Jean Valjean and other performers were singing solos, we couldn't always understand the words.

  • A Heart Full of Love

    by Moonstar92 on 11/24/24Orpheum Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

One of my all-time favorite musicals and it was everything I could've hoped for and more. This was the best performance of Les Miserables I have ever seen in my life. It was so beautiful that I was in tears during the opening number. The sets were magical and I felt transported. The cast was absolutely perfect. They poured their hearts and souls into their roles and it was so beautiful. The best I will ever see in my life. I wish I could see it again and again. I left the theatre in happy tears. Five stars!

  • Overwhelmed by Talent

by Dave on 11/24/24Orpheum Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

I never saw LesMiz on Broadway but always wanted to. I've seen a production at a dinner theater and I've seen the movie. Both were good. However, neither compared to what my wife and I 'experienced' at the MN Orpheum during the Thursday matinee, Nov 21, 2024. Every singer, without fail, was superb. I'm a singer with a good ear and I was moved several times during the show, not just because of the storyline, but for the quality of music that was reaching my ears. To sing/speak with the tone, pitch, and quality that the cast did was simply overwhelming. This includes the Orchestra, which I take my hat off too, as well. Finally, the production value was tremendous, especially the suicide of Javert. The finale was especially moving as we saw the departure of Jean Valjean and the bringing together of Cozette and Marius. My wife and I were literally bawling. I would see it again right now no questions asked. Thank you for such a moving and awe inspiring production of LesMiz.

  • Great production marred by the sound

by Lendo on 11/24/24Orpheum Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 4 out of 5

Once again a fine performance was marred by a shrill, tinny sound system producing poor clarity of lyrics.

  • Excellent Performance

by Afrench on 11/24/24Orpheum Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Loved the singing and the staging; so well done! We occasionally had an issue hearing the singing (words) over the orchestra.

  • Meh

by McMac on 11/24/24Orpheum Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 2 out of 5

It was just loud. The whole show felt like over emoted. A few songs were unintelligible. Also cannot recommend the Orpheum for anyone with any issues walking. Extremely limited handrails. Balcony stairs downright hazardous. Main floor may be okay?

  • Wonderful

by Julie on 11/24/24Orpheum Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Singing over the top. Enjoyed every minute. Props were amazing .

  • A Ruined Production

by Jamie on 11/24/24Orpheum Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 2 out of 5

Act 1 was almost entirely ruined by sound issues. Mics weren't working. They'd just cut out randomly. Act 2 was disrupted by multiple people's cellphones. All in all a terrible experience.
