About

Cameron Mackintosh presents the acclaimed production of Boublil and Schönberg's Tony Award-winning musical phenomenon, Les Misérables. This brilliant staging has taken the world by storm and has been hailed as "a reborn dream of a production" (Daily Telegraph).

Set against the backdrop of 19th century France, Les Misérables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption-a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. The magnificent score of Les Misérables includes the songs "I Dreamed a Dream," "On My Own," "Bring Him Home," "One Day More" and many more.

  • If you didn’t see Les Miz…..

by Musical Lover on 4/2/25BJCC Concert Hall - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

You missed the best show ever! The talent was incredible, the orchestra was exquisite, and the venue was wonderful. I’m thinking about getting a ticket and drive to Huntsville in May to see the show again!!!!!! IT WAS THAT GOOD!!!!

  • AMAZING!

by DotB on 4/2/25BJCC Concert Hall - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

This production of Les Miserables was amazing. The performers had powerful beautiful voices. The acting was superior. The sets were gorgeous. The orchestra was awesome too. This play was as good as any I have seen on Broadway. Thank you for coming to Birmingham!

by John J on 4/1/25BJCC Concert Hall - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

I’ve always loved the movie and had be waiting for my chance to see the Broadway production. Way better than the movie. Keeps you captivated the whole time. Definitely will see it again when I can. Les Mis is a must see for all!

  • Great play, but a few venue issues

by Jennifer D on 4/1/25BJCC Concert Hall - BirminghamRating: 4 out of 5

The play itself and the acting, props and effects were fabulous. The venue itself ( BJCC) had too few bathrooms and the audio was hard to hear/ understand at times. Getting into the venue was smooth. Temperature was comfortable. It was worth the 2 hour drive. I’m still singing the songs in my head

  • Phenomenal!

by Veronica on 4/1/25BJCC Concert Hall - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

This show was SOOO good! The actors and actresses are so talented, the set designs are beautiful and it is just so well done. If you haven’t seen it, we highly recommend it!

  • Almost Outstanding

by Time on 4/1/25BJCC Concert Hall - BirminghamRating: 4 out of 5

The play was spectacular. The actors drew me in from the opening number. The set was amazing. My only issue with this venue is the acoustics. Voices do not cary well if you are seated far left or right.

  • Les Mis @ BJCC

by CrashBoomBam on 4/1/25BJCC Concert Hall - BirminghamRating: 4 out of 5

My first experience with the Theater section of the BJCC. Getting tickets through Ticket master was easy and no hassles. Parking was offered as part of the purchase process. No location of the parking was provided and no choices were offered as well. Parking details need to be part of the offer we were 7 blocks away from the venue. The quality of the performance was A+. Casting, props, lighting were all superb. The venue however is lacking. The biggest problem is sound. We sat in the lower section of the upper balcony. Sound system coverage for that part of the Theater was severely lacking. This should be addressed immediately by the BJCC. They should increase the number of speakers flown to include the upper balcony level. The vocal presence was just not there. Overall volume was not an issue but if your system is not covering the frequencies of voice presence it’s not understandable. Over all 7 out of 10.

  • Live show is incomparable

by Ce on 4/1/25BJCC Concert Hall - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

My first experience with Les Mis was the 2012 film, which is good. However, there is nothing like live music. The cast was so talented. Powerful vocalists.

  • Fabulous!

Fabulous! The actors, sets, transitions, and orchestra were all awesome!

  • First Time for Some Grandchildren

by Genevieve on 4/1/25BJCC Concert Hall - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

Les Miserables is one of my absolute favorites. It was the first time seeing for several of my grandchildren - it was a complete hit!!!

  • Outstanding!!!

by Pam on 3/31/25BJCC Concert Hall - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen this musical multiple times and I think this was the best one yet! The scenery, costumes and voices were exceptional. I love the music and have been humming it in my mind since!

  • Fun Night

by Sandy on 3/31/25BJCC Concert Hall - BirminghamRating: 4 out of 5

The play itself was a good experience. I took 2 of my granddaughters and we had a fun night (although I had forgotten the occasional bawdy content in the play!). My complaint is with the parking. I pre-paid for a parking place with ParkWhiz (that option was provided with TicketMaster when I bought my Les Miserables tickets) and when I got there the night of the play, the parking deck for about 6 or 8 blocks away from the Civic Center. It was much too far away - especially when you are leaving the Civic Center after 10:30 at night. I will never buy prepaid parking again and will tell my friends not to either!

  • Captivating from beginning to end.

by Aweave on 3/31/25BJCC Concert Hall - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

Les Miserables was spectacular. The cast and characters delivered an unforgettable show. We were so thrilled we could experience such an amazing performance!!!

  • Great!

by Jeanene on 3/31/25BJCC Concert Hall - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

With reserved parking in the silver garage, our experience was great because we were close to the venue and could get in and out easily. The staff was very helpful in directing us and helping us find our seats. The upper levels seem really far away from the stage, so I’ll buy the floor tickets next time.

  • ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!

by Ry on 3/31/25BJCC Concert Hall - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

Emotional is an understatement. I laughed, I cried, I was on the edge of my seat. The performance was beautiful and I've been talking about it for days. Thank you!

  • An OG, but it’s a slog of one

by Josh on 3/31/25BJCC Concert Hall - BirminghamRating: 4 out of 5

Def a good show. Talented artists…but man I just don’t love the story. Hated it in HS while reading it, hated the movie…pleasantly surprised with the stage adaptation. Def a must see IF you’re a theater enthusiast…don’t take your non-theater folks to this show as it could be a bit much.

  • Great production! Loved it

by DN on 3/30/25BJCC Concert Hall - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

We sat in the Orchestra for the first time. The seats were great. It was well worth the money to have such good seats. Les Mis is our favorite Broadway musical. It was great again!
