STILL THE WORLD'S MOST POPULAR MUSICAL
Cameron Mackintosh presents the acclaimed production of Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg's Tony Award-winning musical phenomenon, Les Misérables.
This brilliant staging has taken the world by storm and has been hailed as "Les Mis for the 21stCentury"(Huffington Post), "a reborn dream of a production" (Daily Telegraph)and "one of the greatest musical sever created" (Chicago Tribune).
Set against the backdrop of 19thcentury France, Les Misérables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption-a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. This epic and uplifting story has become one of the most celebrated musicals in theatrical history.
The magnificent score of Les Misérables includes the songs "I Dreamed a Dream," "On My Own," "Bring Him Home," "One Day More," "Master of the House" and many more. Seen by over 130 million people worldwide in 53 countries and 22 languages, Les Misérables is undisputedly one of the world's most popular musicals.
So absolutely wonderful!!! Very talented cast and I enjoyed myself immensely!!!!
I love Les Mis, so it's no surprise that I loved this production. The cast was amazing, and the set was awesome. I do miss the rotating stage, can we get that back at some point??
Unbelievable performance on every level! The cast, each character were brilliant, their voices, connection and true to its original. Bravo!
Great show! Everyone sang and acted wonderfully! Every bit as good as other Les Miss performances I have seen!!
We enjoyed the talented singers. For many of the male singers, the sound quality made it near impossible to make out their words.our teenage daughter said she could not make out most of the words.
This was the very best production of Les Miserables I have ever seen! I cannot recommend it enough. I truly wish I could see it every day it was in town. I loved even more the production let Fantine’s understudy play the role on opening night since she was performing in her home town. Just fantastic!
The performance was outstanding. Regrettably, however, there was terrible static or feedback in the speaker (that hangs down from the Balcony) directly overhead in our section (Orchestra 1, Row S). Therefore, anytime the performers sang at a particular volume, the sound crackled and became distorted. It was very distracting and took away from our ability to fully enjoy the performance. I did alert the audio crew of the issue at intermission. Otherwise, it had the potential to be a five-star experience. Hoping it’s fixed before the next show we see in those same seats in May.
The show and cast was absolutely amazing! The kids in particular were extremely talented. Do NOT miss!!!
We loved Les Misérables! Such a talented cast and great venue. An extraordinary evening of musical theater. We enjoyed every minute! Thank you!
The actors all had terrific vocals!!! But the children so warmed my heart 💚And the stage props were very impressive!!! It was my life dream to see Les Mis !!!Thank you!!!
I don't know how the tour management picked the leads because ALL of the cast was SO GOOD. Although the actor for Jean Valjean definitely earned and deserved the spotlight. He absolutely slayed the audience with his rendition of "Bring Him Home". SLAYED. But the talent of everyone on stage was just mind blowing. I've seen Les Miz many many times, and this had to have been the best one. Props to the orchestra and stage crew for also being completely flawless and helping to create the magic for the show. Just amazing.
Performance was first class. DeVos Hall seats were cramped, signage was poor but acoustics were great. Seating arrangement on the mezzanine was distant…Wharton Center in East Lansing seating is much closer and more comfortable for the vast majority of seats.
I have seen Les Miserables countless times, including a show in NYC and another in London. And this company in Grand Rapids was as good or better than any I've seen! I really enjoyed the warmth of a small theater and the ease of parking.
I went to see Les Mis in Grand Rapids with my best friend!! The show was awesome and everyone in the cast is so talented!! Not only was the music and singing amazing but the acting was too. I could really feel the characters come alive in the story. I would definitely see it again and I would recommend seeing it to anyone!! Les Mis has a special place in my heart and it’s my favorite musical of all time!! ❤️
Amazing show. Well performed. The staging was amazing. Truly enjoyed the play and the experience.
Everything from the music to the singing everything was awesome!!!
Better than I had anticipated it would be. Took my 21 year old grandson and he throughly enjoyed the show. He chatted on and on about the story line and how well they played their parts. Comical at times as well. Would recommend to anyone who shows an interest.
Loved it. It was a great performance. One of my favorite shows. Very emotional
I can’t say enough positive feedback about the show! The set and cast were fantastic! Breathtaking!
I’ve never felt so much emotion in any other performance as Les Miserables. The actors and their voices are bar none. This is the best musical I’ve seen. My son and I will see it again when it comes back in the fall near us. My son is in theater and what a way to learn by watching an outstanding performance as this.
