Cameron Mackintosh's acclaimed production of Boublil and Schönberg's Tony Award-winning musical phenomenon, LES MISÉRABLES makes a triumphant return to Chicago. This brilliant staging has taken the world by storm and has been hailed as "a reborn dream of a production" (Daily Telegraph).
Set against the backdrop of 19th century France, LES MISÉRABLES tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption - a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. The magnificent score of LES MISÉRABLES includes the songs "I Dreamed a Dream," "On My Own," "Bring Him Home," "One Day More" and many more.
This was my 5th time seeing Les Mis over the past 20 years. It was as enjoyable this time as it was the first! Music and choreography we great.
This was the 7th time I had seen the show, including at The West End, Broadway and other traveling productions. This production seemed longer and with the exception of the incredibly talented Jean Val Jean, Javert and Eponine, the performances weren't as strong. However, it's still my favorite musical of all time and I recommend it.
Incredible and talented cast. Definitely worth spending the money to see this.
Having seen the earlier production of Les Miz multiple times, this new production did not disappoint! Incredible voices among all cast members and wonderful set. Everything about the production was top notch!! Recommend this show to everyone!
The stage set design and the graphic background was amazzzzing. And of course the music and the tear-shattering story line. I am so thankful that Les Miserables came to Chicago.
Seeing Les Miserables for the fourth time was the same as the first... AMAZING!!
Loved Les Miz again as always. However, please delete the raunchy stuff. There were a lot of young people in the audience. We should be able to enjoy good theater and music without the X-rated antics. Les Miz doesn't need to be cheapened by that.
My 4th time viewing and when it comes back to Chicago I'll be there. Not a pretty stage face (nor inexpensive) but a storyline with meaning and a broad spectrum of music unmatched in musical theater. Go early to familiarize yourself with the program guide if it's a first time.
Have seen Les Mis 8 or 9 times. Prefer the earlier versions's staging overall (particularly the wall, army's marching, turntable, etc.), but this production was very well done with outstanding voices. Jean Val Jean and Jauvert were especially fine.
I have seen Les Mis multiple times at various venues. This was by far, my favorite.
This was the first time my wife and I saw Les Mis. Everything from the staging to the costumes to the actors' amazing voices were nothing short of amazing! See this show!!!
awesome, took my adult children and they all loved it!
Family loved this show, with its inventive staging, wonderful actors and inspired, passionate singing. Highly recommended!
I have seen Les Miserables before and have recordings from London. This production was more powerful and emotionally intense than any I had experienced. The performers were given the opportunity to shine and took it completely. I recommend it without reservation.
I can't believe I'd never seen Les Miserables before, though I did know some of the music. What a fabulous musical! Thoroughly enjoyed it!! For others who aren't familiar with the show, I would recommend reading a synopsis before you see it. There is very little, if any, spoken dialogue - it's all sung. So it can be a little hard to follow sometimes if you don't know the basic storyline and the names/roles of the main characters.
This play group was excellent. I have seen Les Mis five times and enjoyed it just as much this time as the first. The voices were strong and beautiful.
Amazing and moving. Third time seeing Les Mis ... Best one yet
This was an amazing performance of the classic story of Les Miserables. The cast did a wonderful job of portraying the characters, and the singing gave me chills!
This is now my new favorite musical! Everyone in the cast was OUTSTANDING!!! I only hope I have the time to see it again while it's still in town.
We have seen Les Miz many times over the years, but we both agreed this is the best version ever. Great singing and acting, and a gritty emotional intensity that made it seem very real. Read the Chicago Tribune review; it says it better than I can.
