  • Powerful and moving

Such a powerful story of redemption. So many strong messages - from the dangers of legalism to the hope a new beginning. The music is moving. If you are even a little bit emotional you will want to bring some tissues. One of the all time great musicals.

  • All that we expected and more.

Haven't seen the show in 20 years. I wondered how it would be without the circular stage. The new back drops and lighting were great. We took our teenagers and we now have another generation of Les Mis fans.

  • Life changing

Les Mis was amazing. Took my 17 year old who is looking at colleges and majors. It was life changing for her. No doubt in her mind now where she belongs and wants to be.

Was concerned about seeing a revamped production of my favorite musical, but that lasted for only a moment once the show began. Well cast, beautiful voices, great scenery and staging.

Very good production. Actors did a great job and the songs were very emotional. We enjoyed the comedy too.

  • Les Mis should not be missed!

by Bils on 11/16/12Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

My wife and I attended the show together. She was familiar with the story and songs but had never seen the play. I was rather in the dark. We were both blown away. The story was amazing but the play itself was so well-done! We are not huge theater people, yet would both go see this again. The actors were outstanding and their voices were unbelievable. You will have goosebumps. You will have tears. See this show.

  • Outstanding as always

This was the 5th time I've seen Les Miz; the 2nd time since the new show has come out. I prefer the original show and staging--the new show has deviated from that somewhat by using more graphics in their scenes, leaving less to the imagination. The cast was outstanding--I didn't care for adult Cosette's voice--too much vibrato for me. Eponine's voice was one of the best! I would still see it again! The suite package was worth the money--free drinks, snacks, and short restroom line!

  • Amazing!

It was my first time to see Les Miserable. Every actor's singing and acting were really wonderful. I couldn't stop crying. The orchestra was marvelous, too.

  • WOW!!!!! Best Les Mis ever!

    by flogger4 on 11/16/12Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

This was the fifth performance I have attended over the years and probably the best. The slight changes in staging were very effective and the flow absolutely superb. Pacing was great. Also the best visuals by far. However, the thing I noticed the most was the total engagement of the performers and their connection with the story. More "acting" as opposed to straight singing. So many of the "little things" were done so right. The emotions of the characters were presented more forcefully than any prior performance I have viewed. And those voices! Not a single weak performer in the entire cast! Overall an absolute joy!

  • Excellent overall

I have seen Les Mis many times and felt that this was a very fine production of my favorite. Javier and Val Jean were particularly impressive. Thenadier was technically very good but I felt did not give the exuberance that this part required to be excellent. Felt he fell into the professional actor's habit of phoning it in. Eponine needs to learn what to do with her hands. Her repetitive non-expressive hand movements were quite distracting and smacked of uncertainty which makes one lose the suspension of disbelief. The director should have noted this.

  • The BEST Les Miserables, to date

by MarioChicago on 11/16/12Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Outstanding performance. We've seen this six (6) times and it appears each time they work to enhance the experience. This year (Nov 2012) was no exception. This year, however, could be there best performance ever.
